Times are difficult for everyone right now...so I don't know why I'd come to this site to see if I could get any assistance with my financial problems...I read some of the stories/comments and I really don't feel like I have a problem anymore. I mean, I work 40 hours a week, so does my husband, but we can't make ends meet. Everyday it seems like something else happens to put us back further.  We haven't had food in our house in months, but we get by.  Our rent is behind by 1 month, but it could be worse(we could be sleeping on a bench, or behind a building).  I guess I'm thankful for the situation I'm in right now...after reading I don't have it as bad...I wish I could help some of these folks myself.

2 1/2 years ago I decided to get off ALL chemical substances (my doc was crack-cocaine, weed, and booze). I thought i was always broke back then, but now that I pay my bills it's even harder to stay above -- I call it the "wreckage of my past...." It haunts me day and night, but I'd rather be clean & sober and be broke than to be an addict and be broke.  I hold onto my faith to get me through each day, and I know eventually I will see the light, and I'll come out on top. So if your struggling -- hold on, your time will come...their are people around us who want to help, they're out there.  Just keep the faith.

Hello, I'm just going to say it.  I am 41 year old recovering alcholic, sober for 2 years now.  A single m, I have 3 children, two of them are grown and still live at home and I have a 10 year old that suffers from mental illness and some medical problems I am not quite sure of yet.  I have had to quit my full time job as an inspector because of my youngest daughters' doctor's appointments and also she has had bad reactions to medication and problems in school, I was constantly leaving my job to take care of these issues and employers don't like that, I can't blame them.  I didn't get fired, I resigned because I knew she needed my attention.  I am currently trying to secure a part time job as a pca in my own town so that I will not be very far from my daughter and her school and it will enable me to be home when she gets home from school, she has been in and out of the hospital for 2 years now, I am dedicated to making her better.  My oldest two help me out with the house and bills and I am very proud of them.  I bought a used car with my income tax refund and I found out that I had 750.00 in back car taxes from 2001-2002, a time when I was active in my disease and didn't pay my bills due to irresponsibility.  I was able to register the car for 60 days but I know i'll never come up with that money by then.  I realize I need to ask for help or my registration will be pulled.  That is it, thank you for your time.

In 2/18/06 I lost my left leg in a motorcycle accident. One year and one month later I Lost my wife to brain cander. 3/16/08 I came down to Florida on the advise of the prosthetic Assistant to meet a new Doctor of Prosthetic's. When my wife had died . Her last dieing wish was to leave her children the life insurence. So we did. I had to forclose on my home and her kids got the cash. Since I have been in Florida. I only recieve 2.200 a month. My rent is 655.00 and that is why I am writing this. If someone could help me out with my rent. That would be great. Then I could afford the Doctor's app. and all the prescriptions that I have to afford. I have several a month. So you see in the matter of two years. I lost my left leg, I lost my wife of 17 years and then the loss of my home.  I have always worked my whole life. I have never had to ask anyone for anything. So you see. This is not easy for me. I live with constant pain in my lft leg from the stump that I have to go to the pain clinic once a month to recieve meds for the pain. Thanks
