Hi, my husband & I live in OHIO. We have no children as of yet, but are preparing to become foster/adoptive parents. I am very into animal rights.Speaking up for those with no voice is my passion. We are both on permanent SS Disability. We live in a mobile home right now, but are trying to move closer to my family. Our mobile home has a ramp, but is not totally wheelchair accessible. So we are waiting to adopt until we move because I have a hard time getting out of it by myself, let alone a child. My husband helps my parents alot with things they have a hard time with. ( taking out garbage, mowing the lawn, running the sweeper, taking them to the doctor) So we need to be closer to their house. We found an accessible home  5 minutes from them. The landlord will hold the house until the first of the month & we need to sell the trailer to be able to pay the security deposit. So we have 12 days to either sell the trailer or come up with the security deposit, I am looking for an organization who will help us pay the deposit. ANY ADVICE WILL BE APPRECIATED & VALUED. Their are too many things that are way to difficult for me in our trailer, & an accessible house that allows animals that is not to expensive is hard to find, we cannot pass up this opportunity. It sounds like I feel sorry for myself, which I don't.Everyone goes thru hard times which make their strength & faith stronger. I thank God for what we have. I'm not looking for a hand-out, just a helping hand. ANY ADVICE?

Bless The Beasts and The Children

Please help us make a sad situation into a victory for many!

I am a designer who has recently tried to help my cousin and his family recover from his terminal illness, a recent divorce, and general chaos. He begged me to move from Va. to Tx to help him care for his children, and care for him as he undergoes treatments. Even though I was happily rooted in Va.(which is a difficult thing to accomplish as I am an artist/designer)I uprooted me and my bengal cat risking everything I had to go help.

The day before his last chemo treatment his son said to him and me that he didn't want anyone taking care of them and their home while the Dad was in the hospital, and that if I didn't leave immediately that he would go live with his Mother(part of the reason why my cousin was in financial distress was all the money he spent to get custody away from the Mom).

So after I spent all my savings to help him out, he told me he didn't want to loose his son and I had to go. I never wanted to move to Texas except to help him, now I am forced to stay. Me and my Bengals are now living in a house that I am renovating at a greatly reduced rate of pay, I had to take the offer because we had no place to go. The owner has been very abusive to me and my animals. When I had the flu he tried to pour bleach on me right before throwing baby kittens across the room. I am 2 weeks from finishing my work here, I wont make very much after everything because allot of time was wasted trying to keep him calm as he would have panic attacks often and even take agression out on us just because he wasn't happy about his light bill. Time was further wasted due to he wouldn't allow us to use any electricity while he was at work, everything he did to try to control everything. We got to have the air conditioning on only when he realized that the new plaster ceiling would stop falling off if allowed to dry with air circulation. By the time I finish if he keeps his head glued on, I will have nothing to move away from him with. He would probably try to keep us here under worse conditions as it inflates his ego and it is all about "control".

The whole situation has been harsh and required much patience and faith to get this far. I have always helped people when I could, now I need help. My idea was to find people to help me create a foundation to help "The Forgotten". A home for abused children and animals because they can help each other deal with the pain of exsistance and trauma of life. Please help me find someone to donate land, vehicles, money, furniture, business mentoring, vetrinarian help for my animals (no vetrinarians want to help us for free!!!! Go figure!)storage facilities, and your prayers. I thought that since I had to start all over I might as well use my problems to solve many more people and animals with the same stone. I got the idea to do this when I discovered a place that helps children and animals in Ga. called Noah's Ark.

I figure in order to solve my situation while creating a safe place for others that I will need just about every donation of everything including medical supplies for homeless children, school books, and etc. The most ideal beginning would be some land with a shelter in an area where beautiful hopeful life can thrive. Texas isn't an ideal place because there are too many climate problems and too many pests. But I will consider anywhere God leads us to.

Hi!  I'm Stephanie Green, founder of Critter Cove Animal Rescue.  I am looking for grants/donations to get my rescue up and running full-time!  We take in unwanted or abused animals (mostly cats and smaller), give them the love, attention, and medical treatment necessary then try to find loving homes to adopt them out to. I just don't know where to go for help without getting into scams!

Feel free to participate in this public group space.

Two easy ways to do this:

  1. Add a comment or a question here - on this page... or on any other page in this space.
  2. Or, if you want to start a separate thread - make a new page.

Either way is good - the important thing is your participation. On Aidpage, people support each other by speaking out and by paying attention to each other - as simple as that.
