I am looking for a few games to be gifts for my kids.  Games will be great for the kids and for us. We can sit down and have some family nights before my other half ends up deployed again. Hoping the kids will remember those nights with 'daddy' and can't wait for him to come back so we can do it again.

My decision to go into Nursing and get a second degree is based on the fact it is where God wants me to be.  In a fabulous book, “The Purpose Driven Life”, the author talks about God’s purpose for us. It also explains what we can do for the body of Christ, including for other Christians and humankind. Well my purpose is to be a Nurse and to help people that are sick, with little hope, scared, and many times with no one or few people to support them.  Because, I have been there or felt like I have been there more than I would like to think.  I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Penrose St. Francis.  It gives me so much inspiration to walk in a room of patients and to brighten their day and to know that I have made some small difference in their lives, in terms of their health, hygiene or mental outlook on the road to recovery or decline and that someone is out there who truly cares about what they are going through.  It has taken me many years to figure this out.

In the past 20 years I did not value much, I was happy go lucky, spending money frivolously, not thinking of the future, addicted to the world, the materialistic things that it had to offer and trying to impress people (friends, family, bosses, significant others) to boost my own fragile ego and to be accepted by others.  In this process I kept getting hit on the head over and over from the mistakes I was making, but I still did not make the changes that were required to be whole.  You do not know my story, I had everything, software carrier money, beautiful wife it all and working at Microsoft.  1st I lost my carrier, and then a few years later I lost my wife and son Benjamin.  When we split up they moved to Hawaii, and I stayed in Colorado pursuing my Nursing Degree.  I loved my wife Raeme more than any other women in the world and even more then that, I loved my son Benjamin.

That is when it really hit me that all that matters is friends, family, people and the interconnectedness with one another, the bottom line is love for others and God is really the only true thing we have.  All the other stuff we can put it in the garbage can.  When I or someone else dies, what do we want people to say about us, well they had a great car or house or they were a lot of fun to be around, no we want them to say good things about us and our character.   Also, after my losses, the only thing that saved me, or is still saving me from the grave is God, and that love and the interconnectedness of us all and the relationships are the only things that matter in reality and to serve others as Christ served us.

Also, I know what my future will be:

· Finish school at Hawaii Pacific University while working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, taking two years (four semesters).  So that I will not only finish my goal of being a Nurse, but I will see my son more than once per year for two weeks.

· Eventually be a nurse in a hospital where I can help patients that are sick, suffering from disease processes, in pain, scared, hurting, lonely, by providing them comfort with love in healing environment with the dignity that they deserve.

· Being a father to my son “Benjamin”.  Actively taking a role in his life, not from 3,500 miles away, but initially from Oahu, and then eventually after I finish school from the Big Island.

· Also, in being a father I will be in his life, setting an example for him by deeds, listening to him, playing with him, teaching him, interacting with him, letting him know that he is loved, and just plain spending time with him.

· Also, I will work a volunteer, outside of work, through spiritual based services to help individuals attain mental, spiritual, and financial assistance so that they can improve their lives mentally, physically and educationally, so they can in turn help others.

I have two years left at Hawaii Pacific University.  I have through Loans, some grants, and scholarships attained enough money to pay for tuition and books, which is roughly $18,000 per year.  When I am in clinicals full-time, over the next two years, I will only be able to work 1/2 time during the school year.  Therefore, I will only be able to pay for my living expenses (food, clothing, child support, insurance and gas).

What I lack are the funds to pay for rent, which is about $7,500.00 per year.  I am not asking for someone to write a check for me, but if everyone just pitched in a little it would start me towards that goal.  I am still trying to get some scholarships, Church charity and additional Federal grants that may apply, but I will realistically only go there with about $2,000.00 in my pocket .  I believe with God’s help I will get my housing paid for.  I have spent 100s of man-hours looking for extra funds in terms of scholarships and grants to get be through and they are few and far between for 43-year-old non-traditional students.  There is more money out there for younger adults coming out of high school, for minorities and woman.

As you can tell , I have not been having a great time these last few years.  I have been working full-time, paying child support and going to school and maintaining a 3.89 GPA.  It has been difficult to say the least.  Also, it is not easy to ask for help when for years I have taken care of myself.  You would be helping someone who is trying to help himself, who is doing the best he can do given the situation.  Some people would say stay in Colorado and finish school there, I will emotionally die here away from my son, I just cannot do it anymore it is killing me being away from him.  Any of you that have children would agree that it is a horrible situation to say the least.

A lot is on the line and it is not like the money is being thrown away.  I am very focused and determined, and I will not squander it.  What is driving me now is the love for my son and the desire to get through Nursing School as soon as possible.  I am really trying here, and I need a small amount of help me pay for rent while I go to school or this can be applied to school while the excess loan is applied to rent.  Also, it would be different, not to help if I was goofing off and getting bad grades, I was just invited to join the National Honor Society and there is a small chance I will get a scholarship out of it.  But, virtually no money out there for non-traditional students over forty trying to retool themselves after being economically displaced out of their industry.  I love what I do, it is difficult work, but I love to help others, I am a natural at it.

If you could help, it would ease my education in Hawaii and would ensure that I do not fall on my face and allow me ability to concentrate on school and not overwhelming financial issues.  Please consider my request, this means the world to me to be closer to my son and finish school.  I would not ask if I did not rule out other options, and NOT going is not an option, I must get closer to my son.  I cannot be away from him any longer it is killing me.  My son Benjamin asked me yesterday on the phone “Daddy when are you coming home to play with me, and I said this summer Mr. Bunny, a promise is a promise” that’s Ben’s nickname “Mr. Bunny”.

I hate it when things go wrong, when you want them to go so right. I was supposed to marry the love of my life, on the 21st of this month, but I cant. something went wrong with our funding. SO now we have to wait to get married until october. I hate that i cant marry the man i love. i want to be with him more than anything. i just hope that come october, we will still be able to have a wedding.

My husband and I have four children, the basic situation is that our owner has gone into foreclosure, and we have received a writ so we have to be out by tuesday.  We literally have no place to go, because everybody requires first month rent, and deposit. I am on workmans comp because I was injured on the job, my husband was working overtime, but they cut everyones hours, we have no family here, and none that can help us , who arent here. I have been sitting up at night, searching on the computer, making phone calls during the day.  Right now I am just really depressed, and I am desperate.  If anyone who reads this can send something, anything $1.00 to ???, you can send it to my paypal account, happygolucky_80011@yahoo.com or just mail it to house, we will still have mailbox keys, even if we have to go to a weekly motel . 3062 s biscay circle, aurora, Co. 80013. We found a house, and have pulled all our resources, and the owner has consented to let us move in, but we still need to come up with the money first, needless to say our landlord is not giving back our security deposit, and because we have been basically living paycheck to paycheck, we are in this situation.  We have tried applying for loans (no luck), we have tried payday loans, (no luck), and we have even tried finding loan sharks in our area, If anyone can help. Regina has been diagnosed with a Terminal illness ALS (aka Lou Gehrigs Disease). Regina has been denied Social Security due to the fact in her 33 year working history, the last 10 years she does not have enough quarters amaased to allow her social security. regina was given SSI and Medicaid. Her ssi payments cover her housing expenses only. Regina needs all sorts of sterilization procedures, ie Hydrotherapy, distilled water, alcohol swabs,  etc. Regina is currently on a feeding tube.

I have been taking care of regina by feeding her, keeping everything as sterile as possible, ionic air purifiers,  etc. Regina has lost her ability to speak, and gets confused quite easily. I have her on a strict regiment of vitamin E, Vitamin C, Vitamin B and a liquid multi vitamin LIFESOURCE,.

Regina has been recently able to eat a coup[le of food processor acceptable foods, without choking and or aspirating. Regina has had Upeer and Lower dentures since she was a young lady.

Now unfortunately her dentures are worn and only stay in place for a short while using a adhesive cream. We are unable to get her new dentures or repair these ones due to the fact that all the other monies we have combined is enough to pay the bills to survive and eat. Regina has lost 38 lbs, but is slowly but surely gaining it back.
If anyone knows off any Dentist or program that can assist in financing her denture replacement or repair please help us out. I am a mother of three.  I have a fifteen year old, a four year old and a two year old.  My husband left last month and took all the money and our only running vehicle.  I was trying to do an online business to try and make a little extra money to help out, but that didn't work out very well.  I no longer have the money to make products to sell.  I haven't been able to find work or help with grants around this small town.  They are shutting off our electric today and I'll have an eviction notice tommorrow.  I'm not sure what to do.  I will be having a yard sell this weekend to try and make a little extra money, other than that, I'm lost.  I've already applied for work at all the places in town even places I know I don't qualify for.  Without electric, I can't hope to get a call for work and without a home, my children will have to go to foster care.  If you know of any way to help, please let me know.

I have a bunch of items I would like to sell to buy food and anything my kids may need like clothes, shoes, school supplies and help pay for bills.

     Hello all.  I'm 14 years old and luv to hang with my friends and family.  Lately things have been hard for my mom and us.  My step dad left and took our money and the only car we had to use.  Well, we have a van, but he broke it before he left so it doesn't run and the landlord just had it hauled off anyway.  My mom's been crying a lot because she can't find work and we are getting kicked out of our home soon because we can't afford the rent.  I want to help, but I don't know how.  I help her watch my sister and brother when we walk around town looking for a job for her, but it's not enough.  She's been talking to social services about putting my sister and brother in foster care and she told me I might have to go live with my dad.  I don't want to live with him and I don't want to not see my brother and sister again.  She says that she loves us very much and just wants us to have good lives, and she doesn't think she can give us what we need.  I don't want to be without her.  I love her and I know how hard she is trying.  If anyone can help then let me know please.  I would really like to get any help you can give.

we recently had to move, we found another house, but husband was laid off, we have four children.  I work for the school but don't get paid over summer. husband started new job , now the house were in went into forclosure, the owner did not redeem, and on June 19 the bank will own the house outright.rent .  we figure if we can get through this now we should be able to pull it together by mid october, we need a grant of about 3,000 to pay for a house we found ( first month and security deposit), or we are going to be put on the street. I am just praying for a miracle, and have spent countless hours on the internet searching for ways to make money, and applied for enumerous loans, but our credit is not great, .   I am just praying that our whole house wont be put on the street. We have put our names on the section 8 housing list, in hopes that that could help somehow, but everything is long term, and right now we need a short term emergency blessing. I am even willing to pay back a loan , even with a slightly higher interest over an extended time.

Out of Time!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been searching for a job, applying to anything I qualify for, for over a month, and I haven't had more than just an interview. My phone has been shut off for over a week, and it is becoming more difficult to get a job without a phone. I have yet to pay the electric bill, and rent will be due on the first. I don't have enough money to even cover rent right now. I am worried that I will be homeless come the 1st. I am scared to death at the thought of being homeless. When I had my most recent job, it was merely temporary, and I was being paid weekly. My temp agency was unable to find anything new for me, so I have been looking on various websites and in the paper. I have tried getting loans, but no one will loan out to someone who is unemployed.

My husband has had 9 surgeries in the last 5 years, and the debt of doctors, hospitals, medication has ruined us. Our credit is shot, our finances are unreal. We have to go to food banks to get food.

In the past few months my kids have grown so fast and we can't afford to buy them new clothes and shoes. I am going to try my best to go out and get a outfit or 2 in the next few months before school starts up again.

I do try to get to the local churches and salvation army when I can but they don't have much of the sizes I need or they go fast. So if by chance you have a child that has recently out grown these sizes and the clothes are still in good shape...I would gladly take them and put them to good use.

My son wears a size 5T for jeans, shorts and shirts (slim in jeans). Socks/shoes are size 12.

My daughter wears a 5T/6 for jeans, shorts, skirts, dresses and shirts. Socks/shoes are size 11.

My name is Rebecca. I work full time and carry insurance and pay my taxes and donate to worthy causes. I am a 25 year old with custody of my teenage sister due to the fact our parents passed. Mom of Cancer in 98 and Dad due to complications before a heart transplant in 05. I maintain a healthy household with all the love God gave me. In order to convince her to go to college after she graduates, I enrolled in school for the first time since I graduated in 98. Teenagers are expensive and so is school! There are never enough hours in the day.

Now that the pity party material has been served I will get to the point of starting this quest. Genetically our parents left us bad teeth and not alot in the way of assets. I am trying to finance a root canal and a partial for me and braces for her. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open. Bear in mind however I've been looking for an answer for this for qutie some time and have found that you cannot purchase individual dental plans and most plans that include a dental option have a max that is set so low compared to dental market prices these days it's embarassing. I don't expect the system to change for me though so I'm officially exploring other options. Thank you in advance for any help!

I have a pretty good job and dental insurance. I decided to go to a well know dental office to get my "Teeth Perfect" and my teeth ended up in worse shape than before I began treatment at their office. I wore braces for 2 years to fix a small space that was on top. When the braces came off the dentist recommened that I get a bridge to fill in the space. I had two perfectly good teeth filed down so that I could get the bridge. I ended up with a tooth that doesn't fit correctly and is discolored and because of the braces I now have two spaces on my bottom teeth. Naturally my insurance will not pay for any of this because it is considered cosmetic. I am unable to get a loan to help pay for the dental work that would be required to correct the damage caused by the dentist. My teeth are now shifting because the retainer will not fit over the bridge. I've had two cosmetic dentists tell me I need to have the bridge removed and have dental implants. I will also need to have work done on my bottom teeth to fill in the gaps made by the braces. I cannot affored all the work that would be required to correct the damage made by the dental office. I'm not sure if I can sue for the damage they caused because it has been over a year. Is there anyone out there who can recommend a dentist who will let me make payments directly to the office who will not charge an arm and a leg?
