Please help us get our life back on track. We may be about to lose everything and don't know what to do.

My wife had to leave her job due to illness and our finances collapsed. Before things got out of hand I went for advice and was told I must seek help from my bank. I asked my bank for advice and was told if I didn't accept their financial assistance I would probably have to go bankrupt. As I thought it was the only option I accepted, only to find their interest rates higher than the ones I had with my previous creditors.

I eventually asked for assistance from a debt management company who I was with for 3 years. They promised to get my interest frozen and persuaded my creditors to accept lower payments. 3 years on I've paid out over 12,000 pounds in this agreement only to find my debts are larger than they were before. The interest hadn't been frozen at all. I only found out because one of my creditors sent me a statement by mistake. Under the agreement, the creditors usually sent all correspondence to the debt management company.

I took on a 2nd job some time ago which took my working hours up to more than 60 a week. On top of that, I've found out I've got a disease in my spine which makes my bones fuse together. Although working helps the condition because I need to keep mobile, too much work makes it worse. I need to reduce my hours but can't afford to.

My wife managed to fight her illness and get another job but it's getting worse again and I'm beginning to fear for her safety. She's recently heard she may soon be made redundant so the pressure on her is enormous.

We've worked so hard to try and overcome our problems but every time we make any headway, we just keep getting knocked back down again.

On top of this, over the last 3 years we've received over 600 letters threatening action against us or demanding immediate settlement, and received many more demanding phone calls, even though we've been making our payments. We're now too scared to answer the phone or to answer the door to anyone. The fear and stress are overwhelming.

We have tried for an IVA but even this was rejected, the creditors just wont stop hounding us.

We feel totally ashamed to be in this position, and I feel even more ashamed for posting this notice. It really is a last resort.

Although we accept responsibility for getting into debt, we've had a lot of help to make it worse - bad advice, being misled about the frozen interest and the interest itself, sometimes it's extortionate.

I'm not sure if anyone can help, I think we've gone too far down the line now, but if you can help in any way we would be eternally grateful. My email address is: wanderingsid45@yahoo.co.uk

Thank you for taking the time to read my message.

Sid

P.S. My wife will kill me if she finds out I've done this.

MONEY FOR PAYING DEBTS OFF

I AM LOOKING FOR ANY ONE WHO CAN HELP ME WITH FUNDING TO PAY OFF ALL DEBTS THAT I HAVE SO I AM ABLE TO AFFORD THE NEEDS FOR MY FAMILY

am losing my home

I am a married woman with a 17 year old son.  My husband was injured on the job several years ago and was forced into retirement.  We have had several illness's and medical conditions to deal with this year.  We have tried everything to get caught up on our debts, but have been unable to.  My wages are now being guarnished.  I am losing over $400 per month.  We went through credit counseling and found out that our debt are $600 dollars more a month than our income.

Please help us with a loan at least

Hi, my name is Luciana and I’m an unemployed Brazilian female living with my husband in Liverpool (UK) who is also unemployed. My husband is a British native who is unable to work due to an illness and It is only my husband who receives benefit as am not entitled to any as I have only lived in the UK for 2 Years and have not yet worked here.

My husband receives £125 a week benefit for the both of us to share and as our bills exceed this amount each week, we are getting further and further into debt, and to make things worse the bank has now charged us £75 for exceeding the overdraft limit and it seems that this will continue every month while I cannot find a job.

We are living in a council house without any heating, as our electricity bill is too high at this moment to continue using. We are practically living on fresh air and hope as I try so very hard to find a job, using all my available time applying for jobs by post and email without any success. It seems like no one is giving me the chance to work. The stress I’m feeling is so high that I’m almost ready to give up on life, crying every time I receive a letter saying something like: “Unfortunately on this occasion you have not been selected”

The house is a mess of papers concerning to jobs I have applied for over the last few months and to top all this my elderly mother is very poorly with pneumonia in Brazil leaving me in tears every day. Please, Please, I beg for anyone to help us out of all this mess, we are not asking for a charity, but for a loan that I can pay back in June 2007, as I will receive around £900 from the Inland Revenue in Brazil, but until that day arrives the debts will be so high, I don’t want to imagine what can happen. If I could have the money to return back to Brazil and back to my job that I had before I left, I can earn money to pay of the bills in the UK as well as some that I have in Brazil, even though it also means being away from my lovely husband for a year or more while we have out debts sorted. Being apart again will be hell as we have only been married for just over 2 years with our first wedding anniversary being apart when I used my return flight ticket to go back and work some more, not knowing that on my return back to the UK, it would be so hard to find a job leaving us both in a very serious financial situation. Please, this is a desperate cry for help; can someone have a heart and help us?

You can reply to either my email below or the email of my husband below mine. We are not trying to make some extra money to have fun, but to pay are debts. We are genuine and can prove it with bank statements. Please Help Us.

Thank you for any help that you can give
God Bless us and all of you.

I'm a single 26 y.o. girl. I need urgent help because I lost my job recently, not by my fault, and I must pay huge debts which my ex left me. Every month the debt of my house comes €860,- and € 400,- for the bedt which my ex did on my name, but he left me and this is up to me now. As troubles comes all together, I got a letter from a lawyer which I must pay € 9000,- for divorce... I don't have to pay this but I need a good lawyer because in 2 months I must be in the tribunal. I had a good job and some money spared but is not enough for the debt of my ex and to pay the lawyer, so I need urgently help so that I can pay all these bills regulary and find a loyer so that I can win the divorce cause.

Please help

I'm not the kind of person who asks for much, and especially not money.  I'm usually the one fundraising to help out others.  But now I find myself in a real dilemma.  If you know anything about the state of Michigan, we've been in a one state recession for over a year now.  In April of 2006 I lost my job.  My husband has not worked since 2004 and is legally disabled.  While he gets disability, it's not much.  His medications alone cost almost $200.00 a month.  And last September he was hospitalized for 11 days.  We have over $20,000 in debts I am trying to pay.  I finally found a part time job, but it doesn't even cover my housing & utilities. More often than not, we have to scrounge bottles & cans in order to be able to buy food.  I live in a single wide, 30-year old mobile home.  I was fortunate enough to get the county where I live to provide new doors for me last year but now there's a huge split in my kitchen floor.  Of course there's no insurance on the home or my truck.  I pray every time I drive back & forth to work that nothing happens.  If anyone can find it in their heart to make a contribution, I would be forever grateful.  And just as soon as I am back on my feet, I will pay it forward and monitor this site to see who I can help.  I do have a paypal account and you can email me at quiltbugg8972@yahoo.com. Thank you for listening and for your kindness.  God Bless!

Please help me be debt-free

Hello all,

I'm looking for help to pay off my various debts. Any amount will be greatly appreciated. I built up £40K of debts in the past years and am struggling to get back on track. I have a good job now, but need to at least decrease my overall debt a bit in order to get back on my feet. Most of my monthly wages are spent just to pay interest on debt and I really can do with some help.

I don't have any kids and appreciate there are people in far worse situation than me. I am young, healthy and have a job. So if you are looking for a very worthy cause, I don't think I am the most needy or desperate case. I accumulated my debts after a relative fell ill and I spent a few years flying in and out of the country, helping out with hospital bills and eventually giving up my job for a year. Thankfully, they recovered and I am back at work. But I do need someone to help me and would be most grateful if you are in a position to do so.

Any help you can offer will be met with great thanks, even positive thinking! If I manage to half my debts, it would already be a fantastic start.

Thanks for reading!

Lou

I am a 26 year old  woman working full time and going to college full time. I was with a guy for four years and fell into a lot of debt. He had a gambling problem and a coke addiction so I was left to pay all the bills. We used my credit cards for the apartment, I even had to use them to buy groceries. I had cervical cancer and have not been able to pay the surgery bill. I left him and got my own place but I couldn't afford to stay on my own. I have just gotten so behind and feel like I will never get out of this hole. I am in college now working toward a degree in Interior Design. I would love to have my own Interior Decorating business someday. I am now sharing a small bedroom with my 15 year old sister in my parents basement. I am trying to save up to move out but I have fallen so behind with my debts. I have been paying for a storage unit for over a year now and am not getting anywhere. I have written a book and would love to be able to afford to publish it but that is definately money I don't have and won't for a long time. I have been falling further and further into depression and my coworkers have really noticed how melancoly I am. I just need a boost to get me back on my feet.
