As with any organization, they you must qualify according to their guidelines - various rules do apply. Unfortunately, Computers 4 Kids is not a national organization, rather a community sponsored organization. Therefore, the organization does NOT have a national database and each office has to be located individually. Some use the C4K name, others do not.  GiveTech
People with severe physical disabilities struggle greatly with things most of us take for granted. Without help, many cannot write a letter, make a phone call, buy something from a store, or hold down a job. In very severe cases, even basic communication is impossible in any but the most laborious of ways. The computer (and, through it, the Internet) solves many of these problems and opens up whole new worlds to the severely physically disabled. Imagine the feeling of self-reliance that comes from needing something and ordering it over the Internet. Imagine the self-esteem one can gain from entering an Internet chat room and being thought of and treated as a 'regular' person, not someone with a severe disability. This computer-aided autonomy is impossible without an input device designed for the disabled. However, for many people, the cost of such a device excludes them from this new world of opportunities offered by the computer and Internet. GiveTech plans to solve this problem for many financially disadvantaged people with severe physical disabilities. 415.750.2576

Grandma looking for any help she can get to enable her get her beloved grandchildren, 5 this month, just three in March, and 2 this month, out of the state of N.Y. foster care system and back to her where they were cared for by her before her daughter took them to N.Y. and they ended up in foster care. I have been qualified as a child specific foster care provider in NE. and just want my babies returned.
The worst problem right now is that there have been so many mis-filings and delaying tactics by the ACS in N.Y. that I am out of money and may lose my rental home and if I do I may as well kiss my babies good bye. Please if anyone can spare just a few dollars...if a hundred people all gave a ten dollar bill apiece, I could buy some time & I need time to get someone to represent my interests in N.Y. to the court. I can't pay a lawyer but if anyone out there does pro bono work in N.Y. please contact me. I believe that ordinary people can do extraordinary things. If there isn't a way you can help financially, free advise is welcomed and prayers are needed to restore my grandchildren to their natural family. Thank You.

 August Just Flew By.....

How about a little Elmo to brighten your day!

Wow! August just flew by fast. I got a lot of my projects done thanks to my neighbor's kids. It gave the kids something to do to keep out of trouble and the parents where happy to get them out of the house.

This week we are building  the frame for the tool shed. I got recycled wood from all over the town to build it. It was like a little scavenger hunt. I made it fun.

Today's project is to completely clean out my room. We(the kids) are taking out all the furniture and bed and we will vacuum and clean the carpet and then I will go through all my cloths and make a pile for the Salvation Army of everything that does not fit me.

Our town will be 200 years old this friday. I got a small table for the Fire Hall festival for my leather cleaning formula. I met a couple of car owners that said they want to buy the stuff. We will see on friday.

Other than that, my sister and I are getting into canning season. Tomato are coming up next and next week we will be canning sweet corn.

Life is better.

Just tie a knot at the end of that rope and start climbing to the top...I did it and so can you.

NEver give up.

July Update 2010,

Happy 4th of July to all. I hope you celebrated with history and respect for our Founding Fathers and the US Constitution.

We are having a heat wave on the east coast. I am loving it. After a very cold winter, my bones are soaking in the heat.

This week will be very busy for me. First off, my sister is getting her roof done. Yea!  Then I have to take my truck to get brakes and find out where my air leak is coming from. Next on the adgenda for saturday is the Steel Horse Biker Fest in the mts. I will be there to sell my leather cleaning formula. It should be fun to see all my biker buddies again. I will also try to take in some fishing at the old water hole. Later this month, I have some friends that will help me start building the tool shed for some storage.

There you have my July update. Keeping myself busy and out of trouble.

PAYING MYSELF FIRST:

Ok, I got a bug up my you know what. I am seriously studying about my retirement. Since congress is selling social security down the toilet, I have deceided to learn about investing and saving money. I ordered Ben Stein's "How to BulletProof you Investments". And today I started to get my office organized. I have a pile of papers that need to be gone through and shreaded.

Now, I am going to start paying my self $25-50 dollars a month from my disability check. I made a range because I have to really budget my check. I opened a savings account only with NO ATM card. That means if I have to do any transactions I got to get my butt down to the bank and make it myself. Also, I have a little notebook that I am writing down everything I spend and what I spend it on. After a month I will review it and see if I can cut down on the spending and put that money into my savings account.

Since, my food stamps got cut in half, thanks to you know who...Obamocare! I got a letter three days after the bill passed saying I was cut in half. They must have been waiting for the passage. I am paying for somebody else's food program. Not that I don't mind but why are they taking it out of my alotment??? Because they figure if they cut everyone's in half they can give that half to somebody else. The government is broke!

Well, that was my wake up call! A big "HELLO" TO ME!

You have to take care of yourself! That is the bottom line.

So i am pulling my boot straps up and getting this butt in gear!

Today Mother Earth treated us to our first big Thunderstorm. It was great!

 later,

So for those of you in struggle...do give up dispare and embrace HOPE! I am proof that "God in your life" does work. I am a Dietist! I believe!

Update Feb 11, 2020.I am back online-YEA!

Hi Ya all,

Whew! I was away too long. Lots have happened in my life that I would like to share with all of you that are having despair and troubles, health, money wise etc. First off, I got the notice from my "Angels"(those of you know what I am talking about here regarding "our Angels")  to check back to see if "AidPage" was still in existence! I am so happy to see that it has a new format.

After updating all my profiles and pages I am here to say....Keep Breathing. Keep your Spirit Alive.

NEVER, EVER GIVE UP! Just keep pluging away at what the goal is. Always make sure you are on track and remember, your friends and family will think that you are crazy, they will try to sabbatoge your efforts, they will try to break your Spirit.  YOU WILL Prevail!

What is that saying:  "Do what you like and the money will follow!" That my friend is the Secret to your Success! LOVE IT and most importantly, have a BLAST doing it! Be happy in your Heart! It will change your life. I firmly believe this and I am living proof that it does work.

UPDATE:

As you know, my Aunt passed last year. Then my brother. We can finally breath with the estate matters.

Living all my life in my beloved San Diego, California. I feel like I am in the "Twight Light Zone" back here in the Allegheny National Rain Forest...now major SNOW Forest. I feel like Bill Murphy in "Ground Hogs Day". By the by, Phil said 6 more weeks of winter.  And we are currently digging out of 2 feet of snow.

Ok, I have been studying the "Prosperity book" by Avanizi. Well, it dawn on me that as an "Old Fashion" Bikermamma I can STILLdo something with my life while I am here struggling to make ends meet.  It came out of the blue...or should I say from my "Angels", I can clean motorcycle leather jackets, chaps, saddle-bags, etc. So I started doing my business homework. Got on the net and researched how to make PH-Chem free formulas. The best way to clean leather and a bunch of other stuff. How to repair the zippers, cuffs on Bomber-jackets. I will be picking up a free(best way to get stuff) sewing machine with stand.  I also know that you can use these formulas for cleaning "Tack & Saddle". So for all you Horse lovers out there I would like you to try my stuff. I found a great website to build you own biz cards, which I did. They look great.

I then learned about blogging. I set up my own blogging site with the G. I am still learning all this internet stuff. Every once in awhile I have my nephew come over and help me out. So please check out my blog.

Here is my blog site to look at and be my friend. http://bikermamaleathercleaning.blogspot.com/

new email address too:  bikermamaleathercleaning@yahoo.com.  Yes it is long but it is the only one I could get to work. Besides it does say exactly what I do.

I still have a lot of research to work at. I would like to get this off the ground before the snow melts in time for the first ride of the season here on the East Coast.

There you have it.  Enjoy Life.

Cute little things. So there you have it for today. Blessing to all and may all your dreams and needs be fullfilled in God's Name. LABikermamma *********

Greetings,

Wow! It's been awhile since I have been here. The site looks great! I like the new format. I will have to get re-acquainted with it.

So I have not been here for about a year. Time flys when there is lot's going on in one's life. Still dealing with my health. Last couple of month's it has been my teeth.

Dentures are a-comin soon. And today I just found another part of the tooth that was pulled comming up through the gum. I have ask God to heal me. And I say my "Thank You God for my healing". every day. So hey, it may be getting my third set of teeth. Now, that would be a hoot!

So, I made it back to San Deigo, CA. I love that place. I started to help my friends out there with house sitting. So I am now know as "The Gyspy House Attendant". It is the perfect job for me with all my disabilities.

Another thing I have been researching is the type of vehicle that would sote my needs, both everyday and the disabilities. I am now looking for the old JEEP GRAND WAGONEERS! It is low to the ground so I can get in and out of it and I can put the back seat down when I need to rest. Plus I can haul my little "Gypsy Vardo Wagon" behind it. So that is my next vehicle. Keep a look out and let me know if there is one in your neck of the woods.

Speaking of woods, I am back in Pennsylvania. My 88yr old Aunt called me to come back and help her out. She is having some major health issues herself. So I am back in the mountains of the Appalachians. It is nice now because of the Spring. However, those damp cool nights are killing my back and joints.

So I am back and will promise to check in at least once a week.

Blessing to you all and may all your dreams come true.

LABikermamma.

UPDATE MAY 2007

Ok, well that little toyota truck I got has some major problems. So I cleaned it up and have it up for sale for $835. No sooner did I put the ad in the paper an old mechanic friend found a working truck that I can get in June. See how GOD works Miracles. You have to let go of all your negitive energies.

In the meantime, I am doing little house projects for my 87yr old aunt. I did the trim in the bathroom and I want to paint my room. I put some tomato plants in the garden. So once I leave to go back west, everything will be done for her.

I guess I am on a spring cleaning kick. Not only for my life but my spiritual life as well.
It feels pretty good to let go of all your own shit.

My new saying is: "Life is Good!".

*****
Update: April 11, 2007.
Ok I am over the tools being stolen.  Now working on getting the truck fixed. Getting the AD space sold on the truck and I am out of PA for good. They do every thing backwards here and I am finding out about "legalized extortion" when it comes to trying to registrar the title of a truck. What a racket.  I know enough bitching but I got to tell you whenever you are trying to move forward and you have everyone blocking you, instead of giving you a hand up...get's depressing. And more snow.....ugly. So AD Space anyone?

Thanks.

Update: 04/10/2007.
well so much for thinking positive! I just got robbed of all my tools to fix up the truck.
so now I have a truck with no tools.  At least I did not get my house ransacked like my neighbor did. They got the worst of it.  So there goes 8k out the window.
I just need the Universe and God to give me a leg up everyonce in awhile instead of chopping me off at the knees.
LABikermamma

Update: 04/08/2007.

Just want to wish every one miracles for this blessed day of giving thanks.
May all your dreams come true. My dream is for a truck to make it back
home to san diego,ca from PA.( I got the truck april 2007). Thank you.
Please read my bio(Post#160-onFree money site)
My journey out of  suffering and into another chapter of my new and different life.

In appreciation to all,
LABikermamma

ps:With a "Little help from my Friends". I am now looking for businesses to ADvertise
on the sides of my truck. Websites/800# etc. I will be traveling 2185 miles from PA to San Diego, CA at the end of June 2007. I will charge a buck a mile..That is a dollar a mile.
It will be all Freeway/Highway driving. Stops at Truck Stops and Casinos. I will leave the ad on the truck for one month and I will even email you a picture. Cheapest BillBoard Advertisement there is! What do you think of that idea?

Hi! My name is: Madonna. Nice to meet you! I want to update you on my situation. Previously, I wrote about my terrible situation. I wrote about the 4 Bdrm., 3 bath, 2 kitchen, two-story home that was situated on 10 acres of land. The house was condemned and not fit to live in due to falling down. The house was snake infested with 'water moccasins'. We lived there 4 years. I was bitten 7 different times while living there from the snakes. Not to mention the deadly Black mold infestation. We own 10 dogs that we've raised their whole lives. Parting with them was not an option for us. However, with this many dogs it's difficult to the point of being impossible to finding another place to live. Our dogs are well behaved and trained to go outdoors to potty. Two of them are 16 years old. We are responsible pet owners. Not all people are responsible pet owners and allow the dogs to destroy the rental property, which makes it hard for people like us to find a rental property to move to. The house we lived in posed a threat to my husband's life too. My husband of 23 years, is Final Stages of Cirrhosis Stage: 4 Liver Failure, in need of  a Liver Transplant. The Dr. gave him '6 months' to live and that was '5 years ago'! Praise God! They said he would be bed ridden and unable to walk in two weeks~within the month. That was 5 years ago! He feeds all the dogs everyday, takes out the trash, cooks dinner for us and plays with our dogs and does very good! He even works on his truck trying to get it running!!!!! I admire my husband's strength and determination and his trust in God! My husband according to Dr.'s is a walking miracle!!!! I prayed and kept looking for us another house to live in that was snake and mold free! To no avail. I didn't give up. I trusted God. I prayed everyday for 4 years.....finally.....God spoke to my husband while we were riding down the road. I gave up on looking for a house being told 'No pets' so many times. I just stopped looking. I got tired of the disappointment after getting my hopes up. We passed by a pretty white house with a huge yard in city limits. The house looked empty but I just kept going. My husband said, "Honey, let's look at this house....back up! The house looks empty!" I said, "It may be empty but they aren't going to let us have our dogs! We have 10 dogs and nobody is going to rent to us!" He insisted that we stop! We did. I pulled into the drive and told him it's a beautiful house but the note may be out of our league and probably no dogs allowed!" Nice home and yard! There was no number available to call. No name or info. Within '5 minutes' of us being at this house....here comes the Owner into the driveway! Asking, "I'm the Owner of this house! Are you interested in renting it?" I told him that we haven't looked inside of the house yet! And wasn't sure of how much he wanted?" He handed me the key and told me look inside! He only wanted $325. a month! Cheaper than what we were paying! Then I asked the important question, "Can we have 10 dogs here?" Surprisingly he asked, "Do you keep them fed and took care of?" I said, "Yes, Sir. They are very important to us!" He said, "Yes you can have them! I won't charge a pet deposit! I will come by and see how things are going!" I said, "I have one more question, Are you a Christian?" This was important to me too! I wanted a Christian Landlord! His Father was a Preacher! He was raised in Church and was glad I asked him that!" We are still here in our new home and have been here 7 months now and loving it! Great neighbors that all love dogs! God has truly blessed us in many ways! However, our lives are not picture perfect! The day after we found our new house, I was busy packing and preparing to move. Our floor furnace blew up. Gas filled the house. I called 911. The firefighters got us and our four dogs out of the house. But our bird and fish that we had died due to the gas. We were lucky to be alive. The firefighter told us that our landlord was suppose to have replaced the floor furnace due to it blowing up before and cause a woman to lose her life in that house. I didn't sue or prosecute her but have taking action to keep her from renting that house again until it's brought up to code. We thank God for our blessings. Just because we are blessed does not mean we are problem free! We have learned to trust God and to do our best to help ourselves and be thankful for what we have and to not want what we dont' have! Sometimes God just gives us what we need and that is a blessing too! God can do all things. But he wants us to help ourselves! Because if he did it for us, we would learn to depend on him for everything! He wants us to help ourselves so that we can get the glory and satisfaction and pride to say "We did it!" So we can be proud of our own accomplishments! He helps us to help ourselves and he can open shut doors! This is part of our growth, faith and trust in him and in ourselves too! God Bless You! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers! Remember to pray for yourself too! Your situation can change....ours did! Have patience, understanding and devotion!!!! It can happen for you too! God Bless~

I am a 33 year old mother of 2 beautiful girls ages 4 and 10. I have become disabled and unable to work any longer due to many medical problems. I amstarting my 2nd appeal after being denied again. This time around I am going to have a lawyer. I have had my first phone conversation and the 2nd one is coming on Jan. 26th.   I am stuggling badly to make it month to month. im back to needing some help again. I really have no where else to turn and have exausted any help that was an option. I receive food stamps each month so we can eat, but I do not get any money at all. We have no luxuries, just the basic, phone, lights, car insurance , and household items including personal items. If anyone can help us out, It would be so appreciated and would lift a huge burden from my shoulders.  I feel alot of guilt right now , not being able to care for my girls in the way i always have. Its a real uncomfortable feeling to be skimming by. I just dont know where else to turn.

I love my girls very much but I cant do this alone right now, I need some help from up above. If you cant help, please at least keep us in your prayers and I will do the same for all of you. Thank you and God Bless you all !!

After having lived in Europe for 31 years, 10 in Milan, Italy & 21 in Heppenheim, Germany, I returned to the U.S at the end of 2004. I have a M.S. in mathematics from the university of Illinois. Professionally I've been a systems software developer for 42 years. Having difficulty finding a job -- from my point of view, because most of my experience has been assembler programming on IBM mainframes, making me somewhat of a dinosaur -- & from the market's point of view because I'm  euphemistically "overqualified," I would like to go to an online university to get a degree in accounting, most likely an MBA, but since my total income is the pittance I receive as SSDI, "Yes, Virginia, I'm disabled," I'm not able to afford the rather hefty tuition from most of these places & I'm loathe to encumber myself with a student loan, because there being no guarantees, I might not find a job post-degree, but I'd still have to repay the loan from the aforementioned pittance which barely keeps pace with inflation. So, I'd like to find a scholarship, a fellowship or some kind of grant to allow me to attend an online university. In the meantime, I've found a great job developing mainframe system software for Compuware in Cambridge, MA, starting 7/17/06. I'll be leaving here in FL to drive there on 7/9/06. I'll be back to update my info once I'm settled.

Well, it was a great job until the company closed the development lab in which I was working & unceremoniously RIF-laid off all but 2 of the employees there, including yours truly.:-( So, we moved back to my condo in Boynton Beach, FL on 11/14/2007

Then after 15½ months there, on 7/30/08 we drove to the Palm Springs, CA area & looked for a house, finding a short sale in La Quinta on which we made an offer. There was never a reply to the offer, so we found another, better normal sale in Rancho Mirage on which we made an offer. That all fell through when we discovered that I had unwittingly left some documents needed for financing in storage in Florida. So, we canceled that purchase & drove to Agoura Hills, CA, where Judy's oldest child lives, where we've been living in a Homewood Suites accessible room since 10/6/08. In the meantime we found an apartment here into which we're scheduled to move on 11/28 if the movers ever arrive -- but that's another story. This is a beautiful place, surrounded by mountains, which I love, & despite my advanced age, I'm still seeking gainful employment & I've given up on the online university MBA, preferring to take some free courses from the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), an IT professional organization of which I've been a member since 1964.

 *(Updated Dec. 2009)*

Just looking for help for my Mom & yes also for myself. Have tried & tried beyond means to keep working but my medical issues are getting to be such that I can't work anymore. I had fought my doctor wanting to put me on disability for some time, but I'm really tired & sickly. I try keeping busy on occasion with some volunteer work; I've got to get out sometime & do something! I share a place with my Mom for financial reasons, but I'd sure like to be able to help out more. She's on disability helself but also does a bit of volunteer work. I'm not sure what all I can request here but any help would be greatly appreciated! A decent home, furniture, car, etc.

We would love to buy a home, but our credit situation is pretty grim  (medical bills, student loans). As many know, renting gets old real fast. Our greatest wish is to find a nice duplex if at all possible, but a nice home in a decent area certainly would be a blessing. If someone would just give us a chance! We desparately need to move.... We aren't city folks anymore, & just being uncomfortable here is the least of our problems. Our house just isn't safe. Our landlord is like many; not enough time to fix this house, but always wants that rent on time. We are terrified that the large hollow tree across the street is going to fall on our house. Parts of it break off every year, & in Oct. 2009 I was nearly killed when a chunk of it broke off & landed not 10 ft from where I sat on the porch. Ripped my power lines (& a neighbor's) right off my house! We NEED out of this house before one or both of us gets hurt!

Now, I stay online almost constantly searching for grants & any other source of funding I might be eligible for. My credit sucks mostly because of nedical bills (10 surgeries in nearly as many years). But I also made some bad financial decisions with my education & was always so eager for those student loans that I overloaded myself. The loans have been forgiven for now but my credit still stinks of course. For the most part, alot of these places that say they have missing money for you, or cab get you a grant, etc... the always want money. And hey, I'd pay the fee to those that checked out but neither of us have the fees to pay! But yet, I still search & will continue to do so. Again, if someone would just give us a chance!

Mobility is also an issue; neither of us can walk very well. We both use a cane, but Mom talks about both of us having a Rollator (modified walker with wheels, seat, basket); we'd even share one if necessary. A power chair or better yet a scooter would also be wonderful.

You know, all any of us can do in these times is pray.... Please pray for my Mom & myself, & I will certainly do the same for you--whomever you are. Again, any help is certainly appreciated. I also appreciate just having a place like this to ask & am glad others can ask also. Thank you!

Take care, & God Bless!

NOTE: As of Oct. 21, 2009, my doctor has finally decided 2 put me in a wheelchair. But that's ok tho because I've accepted it & have had enough. I can barely walk, my back & legs have finally betrayed me, & I've been in the most horrible back pain ever  (looking at spinal surgery - again). I was always against being in a wheel chair, because just like all my docs have said, you start 2 lose muscle tone once you get in a chair. There must be exercises... Anyway, I've called the local Disability Network & the ramp prices are outreageous. I did see a nice power wheel chair at a local pawnshop... My caseworker says I should be able 2 get a wheelchair thru Medicare, etc., but it may take some time. I haven't any... That 'time'... I've run out; I need a power chair! My Mom suggested a scooter, which would be great, but I need the back support that a chair offers.

If any1 has any advice, suggestions, comments... Feel free. Even if just 2 chat...

more about me?  I have been in school for the last 10 years.  When your a single mom it's impossible to work full time and be a mom (well, a good one anyway).  We were getting by and doing well until last April, when I was hit by a drunk driver.  I won't get into the details of my injuries, but there are several.  At the beginning of the fall semester I went full time (internet courses) and did really well .  We were able to get by on savings and I got the Pell, loans, and Food Stamps....but the savings is gone.  It is vital to my family that I complete my degree.  Companies say that they comply with the disability act, but the reality is that if two people that are equally qualified apply for the same position and one of the applicants suffers from a disability...the odds aren't in their favor.  I need to be a major asset to my future employer and the only way to do that is to complete my education.

My husband and I are both disabled. He has CardioMyopathy which is a disease of the heart. There isn't anything they can do medically for him. This causes his heart to function at 14% and it is very difficult for him to move around. He also has congested heart failure which makes him retain water and that also makes it difficult for him to move around. There isn't anything that can be done for these condition but prescribe medicines for him that can help relieve some of the problems. He has to use a wheel chair to go out because he is unable to walk very far. He also has to watch his fluid intake and his sodium. He had to go back to work in order to keep medical insurance. Against Doctors orders the doctor said he is a drop over dead candidate. I am also disabled with a disease called familial spastic paraplegia. This is a progressive disease and it causes spasms and weakness and an unstable gate. I have been in a wheel chair for 15 years. This disease is so uncommon and there isn't anything that can be done for me medically except prescribe some medicines that will help with the spasms and pain. I have been unable to find employment and at this time we are having some issues that need to be addressed and we just can't take care of them on our own. We are in desperate need of a person that can pave an alley. We need someone that can do it at a discount rate because as I said we are hurting financially. There are other things that need addressed and I am sure in time we will attempt to work on them. This alley needs to be addressed right away because it in sinking in. We live in South Central Pa please contact me by email if you can offer any assistance. Be it by a financial donation to my PayPal or a job that I am able to do. I have to get these things addressed as soon as I can because the alley is starting to sink in and I am praying to God that, that does not happen. I am going to keep praying and keep Faith that this will be taken care of. Thank You for any help that you can offer. God Bless

My name is Melissa. I have 2 lil boys. I'm asking for help or some info on where I can get help for my boys. We live paycheck to paycheck and just making ends meet is hard enough.    My oldest is 7 and he needs some Dental work done. We do have insurance thats pays for part. We will be left with about $500 for the work that needs to be done and it has to be paid up front. One of his teeth are now breaking and I really need to do something about it but don't have the money. I also have a son that is 4 and he starts school next year. Most of his teeth came in looking rotten. Some of them now are giving him problems and we have had them looked at but there is nothing I can get anyone to do unless I have money upfront. His all together after insurances is going to be about $1800. I can show proof of what the insurances company has sent me with these amounts. I have tried to call everywhere I can find and think of and no one knows where will help with dental.

PLEASE ANY HELP OR INFO WOULD BE GREAT!!

Thanks

Hi.

I just happened upon this site after raising two, (and almost my third) sons In abject poverty on an SSI check, due to being permanently disabled by my ex-husband in 1988.  My youngest is now 16 1/2, and I figured I might want to try to do something since things have gotten so much worse over the last several years, and I can hardly buy thrift store clothes for him.  I wanted to see if I were physically able to take one or maybe two online courses, and get at least a certificate in graphic or digital arts, and work part time from my home, so that I could make at least more than I am getting now.  I find out all of a sudden that apparently, I still owe on a college loan from 1977, which I thought I  had taken care of years and years ago.  Well, I was about to have my doctor sign off on discharge papers, because I CAN'T work outside the home, or I would have already been doing so, and be ready to retire for real soon. However, if I do that, I'm told, I will be ineligible to receive any financial aid for courses which would enable me to do at least very part time work from home, in a business which, I'm sure, would allow me to have more than enough income to pay off any loans after I started making a name for myself.  I also was hoping to use this income to help other domestic violence victime and their children, obviously not through much physical labor, but through donations, and hopefuly one day buying and helping to run a D.V. Shelter, many more of which are needed, ot just here, but worldwide.

I am extremely upset right now, that my dreams of having some kind of an estate to pass down to my children and grandchildren will never see the light of day, nor will the dream of showing them how to care about and help others in need and distress, and to actually be able to help them.   Also, I am in severe pain from head to toe from trying to sit up and talk on the phone or type on the computer to try to find a way to do some good.  (This is why I can't work for someone else!)

I hate that the first time I come to this site, it's to whine, but this really hurts.  And I came here at my sister's suggestion; she sent me a bunch of links, thinking they would be a way to get financial aid.  Now, I just feel like going back into the shell that people evenrually crammed me into years ago, which I finally started to try to crawl out of.  I just feel like there's nowhere to go for someone who's always in pain, and nobody cares, let alone wants to help, even though I've done all I could to help myself and raise my kids right.

I am a college student at Dana College. I am studying social work. I don't see myself getting through this year if I don't have a place to live or gas to even get me to school everyday. I'm scared I'll have to live in my car.  I can't even afford the co-pay on my medications so I'm going without my blood pressure and heart medications.

Hi, my name is Gary.  I am 46 years of age living here in Austin, Tx.  I have since the first of the year, just started receiving a small SSI check and Medicaid.  I just found out that Medicaid does not pay for Dental Care.  Before I had all of this, I was homeless and I had the city, MAP(medical assitance program) card, and was starting to get my teeth all fixed.  Well, since I have had Medicaid I can't get Dental Care.  I went to the Emergency room a few days ago, because I could'nt see a Dentist.  He gave me pennicillin and some tramodols for the pain.  I am fixing to run out of them, and probably back to the emergency room, at another hopital, to get more.  I really don't know what to do.  Any help will be appreiciated.

Sincerely,

Gary P.
