My name is Melaney.  My husband is a veteran of the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, and was discharged medically a few years ago.  We have four beautiful children, and have struggled to make ends meet ever since we had to leave the military.   He is attending school now and will finish in a year.  He was recently laid off and his previous employer did not send his last paycheck, and the part time job also cut back on jobs and hasn't sent his paycheck, either.  We are now going to be evicted from our apartment if we don't come up with our rent plus some late fees.  We are current on everything else but the car, but we have simply run out of money. My husband has been accepted at another place this week, but he won't get a paycheck for another two weeks yet, and we will be forced to leave in by midnight tomorrow night.   I need some help desperately.  We have gone to DES and they said they will help us but it takes a week or more to process the paperwork.  I am usually too proud to do this, ask for help from strangers and DES, but I don't know what else to do.   We have nowhere to go- we can repay anyone who is willing to help by June for certain.  If you cannot help tangibly, then please pray for us- pray that God will soften the landlords heart to negotiate for a longer deadline, and pray that the checks and funds necessary will come in time!

  The money has come in- his work FINALLY sent the money and the rent was paid the DAY THE EVICTION was supposed to take place.  We are so very relieved.  My hubby still needs a job, and we have all the other bills to pay now, but one thing at a time, right?  God does answer prayer- I am living proof!

Well its been a long spiral into hell. In the last 6 years I have lost my parents and a sister. I have lost a great job, and my health. Now I owe so much money, not a massive amount, but enough to put me into the street in days. A little to everyone. I can't even file the papaerwork for income taxes in time, I owe that will lead to a whole new world of hurt and despair. I feel terribly hopeless and very depressed. I can't seem to get an even break. I don't know what else to do or where to turn.There's not much light in my life and I'm beginning to feel like I just want it all to end. I am tired of this financial torture. I am spent trying to make it just to survive. No one seems to think I'm worthy of help to stay alive. I have nothing left. No where to go. Nothing to eat. No where to live very soon. The last thing before my life that I'm willing to give up is my only friend, my dog. If need be we will die together.

I feel like I'm hanging by a thread.

So if anyone can help with a roof over our heads and some assistance to get out of hell, and back to the land of the living, I would be forever grateful.

Never mind, it's not like there is really anyone who cares out there. I'm done trying to get by and just survive. Its appalling that this can happen in this country. I'm have worked all my life and now that I can't I deserve to die, well I fucking guess so! We are homeless now and I am not going to live in my compact car for long, and as soon as I get my painkiller prescription refilled, me and my dog bid you farewell. We will be together in pergatory forever I fucking guess eh fucking GOD!!!Fuck you GOD! We are outta here for good. This site is usless, thanks Canada, thanks for nothing.

We are a disaster response/preparedness organzation dedicated to saving lives and helping others. Through education, training and operations, we are able to assist communities in preparing for a disaster or emergency event before it happens, plus we can proivde trained volunteers to help during and after such an event.

Whether its search and rescue operatins, Community Emergency Response Team training, emergency communications or just about anything in between, we are dedicated to making it happen. We have created a new site called Donate 5 For Disasters, that we are using to help us raise the much needed funds that we use to continue our efforts and help others.

As the site name implies, we are just asking for donations of $5. More would be great, less is accepted, but the more the better we can help. We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit corporation and 100% of all donations received are tax deductible.

Only in America,  relevant to the situation. I am a recovering addict/alcoholic now 21 years clean & sober, and a disabled Vet.  I worked most of my life and now struggle thru the rest. I live today with the passion and desire to help others and those in need,  and now I'm  in that very  position myself. And not to say the least I'm  literally  up the  creek  w/o a paddle. For the latter part of my present Life, I  was a construction truck driver driving dump trucks. In August of  2006,  I  had a heart attack and had 2 stints inserted. The doctors  and the cardiologists  suggested to not return to truck driving and to not  attempt Anything, too physically demanding. I 'm not a lazy person, but after my past and present physical condition I know what my capabilities and limitations are. My education isn't that of any great length, I spent some time in college, which increased and extended my knowledge of  what I already knew, Addiction, Recovery, Homelessness and some general psychology. While in college I was tested and found out now documented having a learning disability, which stunted my progress for finishing college. The present disability situation started out with a state of N.J. disability claim. During the short time after my heart attack I applied for a VA pension. The state disability ended only a few months after I started collecting, and the VA pension took its place. The income from either was never received during the same period of time. So with someone's misconception at the VA,  they assumed I was receiving 2 disability incomes at one time, so they took my pension away. Before the heart attack while still working I was receiving a 10%  service connected disability  for an injury I had while in the service. So now not only did they take away my disability pension, they also took away my service connected disability too in efforts to have me repay money they think I owe them. You don't need a degree to figure this one out. I'm broke,  financially and emotionally with NO present income with an unviable outlook for the near future. Living on disability is bad enough, plus I'm stuck in a dysfunctional relationship that I legally can't get out of, (bad case of too much Mr. nice guy). This of course added problems to the  finances. So now comes the major hardship, due to my present situation, I'm also now being evicted from my home, in which I only have until July 11th to vacate and NO Clue on how I'm going to do it. My utilities are shut off, And I'm presently living on a Hope and Prayer. Thank God  for the helping church organizations that provide food.  SOOO, ONLY  IN  AMERICA,  I've made all the necessary phone calls to try to acquire some assistance for myself and for the sake of someone being Honest, they confirmed , by telling me that due to the fact that I HAVE NO  INCOME, that ANY of  the service agencies, WON'T HELP ME!!.  So at this present moment I'm in check. And for this reason this is why I've been working  for some time on creating a BETTER, non-profit service organization to help Those In Need to escape from this particular situation and the binds of poverty that I am now in myself.  So how does Our present system work,  WITH  NO  INCOME,   NO  HOME  OR  ADDRESS,  THERE  IS  "NO"  HELP.  And after a Disaster,  Assistance is Only available for a limited amount of time, (Their Time) without sufficient programs to help disaster victims to rebuild their Life.  Does this answer the question,  WHY  ARE  THERE  HOMELESS  AND  PEOPLE  ON  THE STREETS  OF  AMERICA.  But STILL,  People ask WHY…  HELLO,  TIME  TO  GET  HONEST,  FACE  THE  REALITY  AND  MAKE  THE  CHANGE. I am in desperate need of oxygen and a cpap machine with humidifier. I have no medical insurance to cover these items. My oxygen level is 68 and I gasp for air on a continuos basis. It is really scarry not to be able to breathe. I cannot sleep due to gasping for air. I have looked everywhere for help and cannot find any.  I have contacted ministries and everyone sends me somewhere else as long as they don't have to help.  My doctor says that my heart is enlarging and it will continue to damage all of the organs in my body I need lightweight equipment due to other physical problems and need to be able to run in my car as I may be living there. My cardiologist says that I could have a stroke or a heart attack. I was already in ICU with a heart rate of over 200. They flatlined me four different times but my heartrate would not come down. I have medical bills close to $100,000.      I need to be able to transport the equipment myself. I found a a portable oxygen machine called excel on the internet from oxilife. The machine is $740 and is capable of running on a car battery that can be used in a car with an adapter which would add money to the price.. Not sure if there is shipping and taxes.  I also need a small  cpap machine that is portable and will fit in a very small area. I have not found a cpap machine but most of them are close to a thousand dollars. Please would someone help me, or a number of people with small donations. I am not old enough for medicare I am only 60 and I don't have any young children so can't get medicaid. My quality of life continues to deteriorate without this eqipment. can't breathe.

I was injured on my job almost 1year and 4months now.I have an torn legiment in my leg.

I hired this attorney, and all she do is give me the run around.I seen 2 ortho for my leg, one is the company doctor and the other was my lawyer doctor, the one she picked. all said nothing is wrong with my leg. even though my mri states i have a torn legiment, but the doctor feels  i dont need surgery, i ask one doctor what about my pain, he says to take tylenol like it was a joke. the other doctor claims i was to old for the surgery..which im 42 years old. i had to wait almost 8 months before i was able to see an nurogist, and that was the one my lawyer picked, he says nothing is wrong with my leg...the thing is all he did was hit my knee with a tool and gave me a clean bill of health, now they kick me off worker comp. i called my lawyer for a slip saying i no longer get worker  comp. she got mad and yelled at me.. now im  doing job search because the job refused to take me back, but they rehab me to find jobs,but found none so far..i have children to take care of,but i have to try and work on my leg i know i cant stand for too long..what can i do besides medicating myself for pain? trying to find another lawyer to take over my case, or at least look at it...in may they wanted me to settle my case or come up with an amount...its not about the money, its about getting the proper medical treatment for my leg because my leg still hurts and at times i can hardly walk... i dont want to wake up years from  here and be crippled, thats my point... i think it a shame how lawyers and doctors work together trying to help each other...where is the justice for all...in united we stand is full of craft...in united we fall..

I am a 32 yr old with a 7 month old son. I owed and managed my own business until two  years ago when it went bankcrupt; a few months later i found out i was pregnant. I worked temp. jobs until i had my son. I recently lost my home to foreclosure and need a cheap place to  live, i am also  looking for a job. was married for 23 years had 2 towing businesses and came home one night on march 19 2006 and wife said she wanted divorce moved to shop begged wife to go seek marrage consuloring so i stayed at shop for about month in half depressed went out and met the perfect women i thought well ewife seen my new girl and she put us threw hell caused problems starting calling police all the time an causing problems with my new girl and next thing you know im out in the street homeless the judge from where i was kicked me out of county because i caused problems for trying to help others theres more to the story but it would take days to explain all i know i was threw out of my other home with very little clothes and no money where do the homeless get help ready to give up thank you

Im in a illegal in Russia and have no friends or family around. and no way in hell would i ever sell my body so thats a definite.
