I am a father of one four year old boy.  I only make about 20,000.00 a year working full time for Parisian.  This might sound like plenty, but after I pay utilities, car note, house note, daycare, gas, food, and whatever else I haven't mentioned.  I really don't even have enough cash to buy food or gas after daycare, utilities, car note, car insurance, house note and insurance.  PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I CAN DO TO BETTER THIS SITUATION.

 I am 18 yers old live in Oxnard californi.  This the part of the state where everything is skyrocketing.  School has gone from thirteen dollars a unit to  twenty eight dollars a unit  housing is  from 500 to 600 for a single room.  Thats not all livning here is tough i am an athlete and its hard to get a job to fit my hectic schedule. Everything is to expensive to live unassisted.

 I need extra money to be able to travel back and fourth to school

I am in need for school books, extra gas money, and money to put towrads the loans, and fundings for collage

 I recently lost my job, and I am working part time while I am in the process of searching for another job.  I cannot make rent, pay by bills, or put gas in my car or buy food.  I am not sure where I can help at least temporiarly until I get myself together.  Is there anyway I can at least get help with some of the above need.

I work as an idependent contractor for less than two years.  Unable to get loans even though I have been doing the job for 8 years.  The agency disbanded and we all became independent about 1 year and 2 months ago.  I serve children and families in rural areas of West Virginia as a Child Development Specialist.  While the pay is good, my caseload dropped for a while and I got behind.  I also put over 3,000 miles a month on my car and the gas prices have really hurt me.  I am increasing my caseload, but unfortunately too little too late.  I'm a single mom that just needs a little loan or grant to get me back in control.  I am close to losing my home and car, have not been able to get my gas turned back on.  I maxed out my credit cards getting my "business" up and running.  I would appreciate any advice you could give me.

I need help with a large utility bill. Does anyone know where or how I can get assistance by 7-21-2007. It is a utility bill and I need $1500 or my kids go in the dark. My husband and I and my daughter, who is 12.   We got behind on our gas bill last heating season and we were shut off in August.    Winter is approaching and we need to be able to pay that bill back, also, same situation with my daughters school, we owe $5800 at the school and $2400 on the Gas.   All help would be muchly appreciated, we have struggled a long, long time.

Okay seems I just spent 2 hours writing a post and had too much to say, I dont think it posted. LOL! Well phooey, Ill try to shorten it. My problems seem so small and I hope I can lend some support to you all, even if it is for now, only in words. Right at this moment Its all I got.

Mom of 4.5 children, a 19 yr old son who is stationed in Virginia in the Coast Guard, and 18 yr old Daughter in law (thus the .5), that I have raised for a year, and still am, a 15 yr old son, and two daughters 11 and 9.   I also have 2 dogs and 2 cats.      My hubby and I have been together 16 yrs. He is an awesome man, would give the shirt off his back if he could. He is a good man and I am very lucky to have him.        

We however are what you consider the working poor, both have full time jobs, minimal pay....only bills we have are mortgage 1500$ electricity $250, gas $200, water 150$, car notes $720, insurance $250, and a payday loan $120 (BTW DO NOT GET THESE!!! I have had mine for a year and we are just paying the interest on it). We have numerous medical bills which I ignore, and are supposed to have more as my husband is supposed to get back surgery. But he cant just yet, as we need him to work.  It costs to much even with insurance. We have no credit cards, thank goodness, do not want any either. With the rising cost of gas it is getting us farther and farther behind, we have to buy it though to get us both to work. My husband uses alot of it, $20 to $40 a day, as he travels all over the area and then some. I use my car for work and the kids. Its killing us slowly.

Between food and gas, and trying to keep our utilities paid, we have fallen so far behind I dont think we will dig out. I am 1 month behind on both cars, and 1 month going to be 2 behind on our home. I just paid Januarys... it  Took us 15 yrs to finally get a house, and in 5 mths of living here we may lose it, it makes me feel useless. There are times I just feel like curling in a ball, I am just so depressed, somedays. If anyone has any advice I will gladly listen. I am at a loss, we cant qualify for public assistance, Where else can you turn?

I know I always say the sun always rises, but somedays I sure wish the clouds would part so I could enjoy it.

Anyway hope this was shorter and it will post, sorry if I made your eyes bleed. Anyday is a good day if you wake up and breathe. :O) Like I said my problems are small. Any advice would be helpful.

I have no idea how this works, but I assume this is where I tell my story.
I am a 31 year old single mother.  I have a 7 year old son who is the center of my world.  I started college 4 and a half years ago and am one year from graduation.  My son got a scholarship to go to a wonderful school two miles from my campus.  However, we live 50 miles from campus making our weekly commute about 550 miles.  I have classes until about 3:30 most days.  I pick my son up from school at about 3:45 and we drive home for an hour and a half or more depending on traffic.  When we get home, we have about 30 minutes to spend quality time together.  Then I make dinner, we do homework, and bathtime.  Bedtime is 7:30.  Forgive me if I'm getting too detailed.  So, I have almost completed my program and should be a licensed elementary school teacher by the fall of 2008.  Now, however, I have found out that two of the remaining classes in my program are only offered from 5:00 to 7:30 pm in the fall and spring.  There is no way for me to take those classes.  I can't afford to have someone from our town drive here to pick my son up and take him home everyday.  I can't afford to have someone from here drive him home everyday.  I can't stand the thought of not sharing our bedtime routine anymore even if I could afford it.  The classes are offered during the day in the summer, so I could take them then and graduate on time.  BUT I have no financial aid remaining for the summer and the tuition is $1422.  If I can't come up with this money, I can't graduate.  There is just no way to complete my program with the classes only being offered at night.  Yes, I have complained.  No, it doesn't matter.  In the words of the head haunchos, "We can't change our entire program to accomodate one student."  I have a 3.75 GPA.  I have worked very hard for it.  I struggle on a weekly basis to have enough gas to make it to school all week.  I have gone days without eating so as not to let my son get hungry.  I don't have two dimes to rub together and I don't know what to do.  My schedule only allows for 14-18 hours of work per week.  I usually make about $70 per week.  Gas, depending on price, is usually around $80 for a week.  I just need help.  I don't know how this works, so I don't really know what happens next, but I am willing to work with anyone.  I will promise everything but my firstborn to get through this.  I have worked so hard to get this far.  These two classes are all that stand between me and a career.

My husband and I are both disabled and we live on $700 a month income from Social Security. Our home uses natural gas and the bills have been so high in the winters(we keep the setting on 64 degrees). The gas company claims we haven't made any payments in a year(which is not true but I do not have the receipts fromthe money orders) and say we owe them nearly $2000($1699.00 was last thing I received). We've been cooking on electric appliances and when the weather turns cold we can use electric space heaters but we haven't been able to bathe for months. I heat up enough water in a tea kettle(electric) to wash important areas but other than that, we've not been able to have a real bath for months now since the gas company shut us off. I've checked into converting the gas water heater over to electric and it seems the best and cheapest option is to go to the point of use system but sadly there is no way we can purchase one for ourselves. Can anybody help with this problem? Point of use tankless water tank or a way to pay this bill? I'm at wits end and my depression is so severe now I contemplate suicide more and more each day. I'm not looking for a handout but I need hot water and will take any information on how to obtain it! Thank you all so kindly for your responses.

Hi! I am a single mom to one child who has special needs. I have a job that I am able to do at home. I work for a call center taking customer service jobs. My rent increased by an extra $450 a month startig June 1. With the cost of gas and food I am afraid I will not be able to pay my rent this month. If I pay my rent late it is $10 a day on top of what I owe.

I have some of the rent money but I am short. I will be starting a second job in 2 weeks so next month should be ok but I need help with this month. I have a shut off notice on my electric bill also. I am also low on groceries and as always I have about 1/4 tank of gas. If anyone can help me I would be so thankful!

We are a low income family of four we have two boys age two and eight when my husband lost his job a couple of months back we ended up getting behind on the bills thankfully my husband did find another job and is working again unfortantly we have not been able to get all the bills caught back up the gas company was unwilling to work with us on payment arrangements since are bill is hight from trying to stay warm in hte winter months they wanted a total of $390.36 to keep are gas on adn like I said before since we are a low income family there's is no way that we could give them that much money in one payment that would only leave us about $100.00 out of my husbands check and with gas prices so high it takes $60.00 a week just for my husband to get back and forth to work so needless to say that ONG did come and turn off are gas on the 9th. I have tried to get help through serveral non-profit agancies but either I have already gotten help from them within the last 12 months or they can't help due to funding I have also tried to get help through modestneeds.org however our family does not make enough money for them to help us if that makes any sense anyways I am here looking for any help or information anyone can provide Thanks so much
