I need money - free money to help pay bills

The first place to look when you need help to pay your bills.

Everyone is hurting (financially) right now. Recession, depression, call it what you want, the fact of the matter is: there is not enough. Our country has enough, it's just not getting to the people who need it. Families are expected to work more and get by with less. It's ridiculous. When and where will it end? I have revamped my national organizations page to, hopefully, make it more user friendly. In addition, please check out these other incredible pages :

****All direct links are in green or yellow

Please note, even though we try to, we cannot answer every post.

Soulight,

Elaine,

Lady Christie,

Ekikaseven,

The NATIONWIDE organizations listed below can assist you with your basic needs, including: food, clothing, rent, utilities, transportation, back to school needs, medical, dental, and holiday needs.

IF they cannot assist you, they may be able to refer you to someone who can.

Emergency food and shelter board program

  • The EFSP National Board does not provide direct client assistance. Direct assistance is provided through a variety of resources, which may include EFSP funding in your community. If you are in search of assistance for yourself or someone you know, you should look in the community services section of your local telephone directory. You should find these pages in the front of your directory and should look for listings for American Red Cross, Catholic Charities or Catholic Social Services, The Salvation Army, United Way Information and Referral, or other non-profit service providers. You may also click on Funded Organizations, here or on the EFSP homepage, to find organizations funded through EFSP in your community who may be able to assist or refer you to the appropriate assistance.

HOUSING AND UTILITIES

HEAP

FEMA NATIONAL SITE

HUD - RENTAL ASSISTANCE
If you need rental assistance this is the place to start. Subsidized housing is based on your income and often times it is much quicker to get into a subsidized apartment than to wait for a Section 8 Subsidy approval
Also check out
how subsidized rent is determined

HUD/SECTION 8/Govt subsidized housing
Section 8 housing usually has a long list because the subsidy is attached to the person, not the property. This means that regardless of where the person lives, they still get the subsidy. In NY the waiting list is 8-10 years.

****If at anytime, you are denied accessibility to applying for any program, you should contact your local city, county, or state leaders and have them intervene on your behalf. - THIS APPLIES TO ANYONE WHO IS DENIED ASSISTANCE.

HOWEVER, there is another alternative. Subsidized housing where the subsidy stays with the property rather than with the renter. You would still pay the same amount of rent - it is based on your income - but you would have to move into a government subsidized property.

In most cases, these are handicapped accessible, family oriented, all the maintenance is included - among other things.

I am including the link for HUD below - just click on the proper state and take it from there. You will need a minimal security deposit - which you may be able to get from social services or another charitable organization.

Regardless of how long the list is you should still be able to be put on the list.

WORK AND SCHOOL

Department of Labor
Can assist with: unemployment, job search, resumes, job training, wage and hour, layoffs, overtime, workplace safety, retirement and health benefits, and disability questions.
Ways to Work
How can you work if you have no transportation? Most social services programs do offer bus passes to help you get to and from work. This is different. This is NOT part of social services. This is a LOAN program specifically for low income families in need of a car or car repair, who do NOT qualify for conventional loans. They have their own set of requirements and are NOT available in every state.

Hello World!

I'm Rose and I live just outside of Philadelphia.

I work at home doing grant research and consultations. My Blog is called Grant Basics 101 which is about basic and general information about grants and grant programs and since I work from home I also have a Working From Home Blog as well!

February 2008

I have just made my first Grant Basics 101 Podcast!

You can find out more information about the podcast by going to:

It's been a while since I have visited here. The site has changed a lot and its hard finding out how to view the most recently posted comments. But as soon as I figure it out I will try to provide some answers.

My newest blog is called The Unclaimed Money Blog with information about what the government calls "Unclaimed" Money

If you think that there are no grant programs out there for individuals then you are sadly mistaken. I have found grant programs for the individual for some time now. It does involve some work though. You have to do your research well and weed through a lot of information.

You can see some examples of some of the individual people that have received grants - especially to start their own businesses by going to my Grant Basics 101 Blog at:

http://grantbasics101.blogspot.com

Don't let anyone tell you that there are no grant programs out there for the individual!

Doctors and other medical professionals (including nurses and dentists) can now apply for grant incentives if they agree to practice in New Orleans to help deal with the medical needs of the people there. Not only is this good news for medical professionals but it is also good news to the people who are still trying to stay in New Orleans but are having a hard time getting medical care because of their inability to pay and long waiting lists. You can read more about this program by going to my Grants Blog.

If you are a medical professional and want to pay back your student loans.....

Many times I have suggested that people start a blog so that they could start earning money using Google's Adsense program. That is where you put ads on your site and you get paid when visitors to your site click on the ads. Just in case you're wondering about how much money some people are making using Adsense just click this link:

There are also organizations out there that provide emergency financial aid for things such as a high car repair bill, car note/payment and helping those that are disabled. For example one woman was able to get badly needed dental work that cost $700 which was paid for by the organization.

Many people are unaware of their Rehabilitation services in their own home town. The ones that do know about it think it’s only for helping handicapped citizens. Wrong. They are in a position to help with free surgery, dental work and much, much more.

If you are employed, but a health problem may prevent you from continuing to work, your local center can help. Especially convenient for those who need a major operation, but have no insurance, This center will pay for the doctors’ visits, medication, actual surgery, recuperative equipment and physical therapy, as well as major dental work, too.

Had dental problems for years? Discolored, broken or missing teeth keeping you from a promotion you deserve? Are your dental problems causing you pain? Speak to someone at your local center. They’ll help you find a dentist in your area that can fix your dental problems and get you back to work in no time.

The goal is to help those with handicaps find and keep work. Even if your handicap is temporary, such as a bum hip, they’ll help you get fixed up and back to work. They also offer vocational counseling, job matching, custom training, assistive technology and independent living help. You must be able to prove that you cannot afford the surgery yourself, and that your income is too low to pay for the treatments.

You don’t have to already be unemployed to receive assistance like surgery or dental work. You just need to have been told by a doctor that you require the particular surgery or dental work. Although they cannot just fill and cap teeth for individuals who need this type of work, they can help you get major dental work done if it is preventing you from going to work because of pain. They can also assist you with dental work if it’s keeping you from being able to work in a field in which you’re qualified, but overlooked, because of your dental appearance

-----------------------------------

April 3, 2007

A little-known grant program is available for disabled veterans to help them get started in their own business. The grant may be limited to $10,000 and can be explored by contacting the VA Office

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 27. 2007

You may be eligible for temporary assistance which is available for needy families from a federal program that will provide a monthly cash grant and medical care to families with children who have experienced a sudden drop in income due to the loss of a spouse or job. The amount of the monthly grant depends on the number of people in your family and any income or savings you have. Contact your local social agency.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

February 23, 2007

Note: I do answer each and every email that is sent to me. It may take time for me to get to your email but I will get to it. More information about grants can be found at:

http://members.aol.com/Roseb441702/grants.htm

There you can find the most basic questions about grants and grant programs in general.

If your family of 4 made less than $2000 this month (or if you as an individual made $1000) you may be eligible for one of the government's nutritional programs. You may be eligible for up to $500 in food/groceries.

February 9, 2007

If you are age 65 and older and live in the NJ area there is a program to help provide you with a wheelchair with no cost to you. Please contact your local social agency to find out more about this program.

Grant Programs For Individuals

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is so much mis-information about grants! Yes there are grants out there BUT there is no one place that you can apply for them. Each organization whether it be the government, foundations or even big businesses and corporations each have their own individual criteria as far as to what you will need to apply. Some financial funding programs start their application process with a simple letter of intent and yet others require specialized and quite a bit of information in order for your application to be considered. The rest of the programs fall somewhere in-between. There have been grant programs where farmers (or even those that weren't farmers but had the ability to) have received monthly checks to grow weed! In another case a man got so much grant money that he gave some of it back! He said it was too much. In another country a witch got a grant (yes, a Witch!) to start her own business selling potions and other related services! So yes there are grants out there!

As with any organization, they you must qualify according to their guidelines - various rules do apply. Unfortunately, Computers 4 Kids is not a national organization, rather a community sponsored organization. Therefore, the organization does NOT have a national database and each office has to be located individually. Some use the C4K name, others do not.  GiveTech
People with severe physical disabilities struggle greatly with things most of us take for granted. Without help, many cannot write a letter, make a phone call, buy something from a store, or hold down a job. In very severe cases, even basic communication is impossible in any but the most laborious of ways. The computer (and, through it, the Internet) solves many of these problems and opens up whole new worlds to the severely physically disabled. Imagine the feeling of self-reliance that comes from needing something and ordering it over the Internet. Imagine the self-esteem one can gain from entering an Internet chat room and being thought of and treated as a 'regular' person, not someone with a severe disability. This computer-aided autonomy is impossible without an input device designed for the disabled.        The abuser is the one with the problem*

When I left my home with my daughter to escape an abusive husband , I didn't want to go to a shelter . I was afraid of what it would be like. I moved in with different friends instead. My friends were really kind and helpful , but it did put alot of pressure and stress on everybody.

I look back and think that I should have done it differently. A shelter would have had all the things my daughter and I needed at the time : counseling , help with what to do next , other women and kids who could relate., and a place to stay at least for a while (we lived with 5 different families. They were wonderful , but kind of passed us around from family to family -we all knew each other and everybody wanted to help. This gave everybody a chance to help , but left my daughter and I with an even more lost feeling.)

If you are afraid of going to a shelter , don't be. They have heard every story in the book .

Here is an idea of what it will be like :

How to make decisions in the middle of a crisis.

Here is another good site that lists steps to making a decision. Sometimes when we are in a crisis situation , it is so hard to think about anything. This page  helps put some order in what we should do about those hard decisions that come with a crisis.

COPING WITH JOB LOSS

STEPS TO TAKE WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN LAID OFF

Unfortunately, in today's economic climate, layoffs are happening to many people.  Some might have seen it was coming, while others were caught off guard.  Either way, it can be a scary situation.  Here is some helpful information and things you should do when you have been laid off:

1.         Get a letter of recommendation from your employer.  Obviously, you have been laid off through no fault of your own.  It would be a great asset for you to have your employer give you a letter of recommendation to give to a prospective employer.  It would also help if the employer states in the letter of recommendation that you were terminated due to a layoff.

2.         Ask your current employer if he has any business referrals or recommendations on other places to seek employment.  Perhaps he has a business colleague that can use your services.

3.         Find out what kind of severance package you will get, if any.  If you have insurance, you will be eligible for COBRA benefits.  Although COBRA benefits can be expensive, it will carry you through until you are once again employed and covered by your new employer.  If, by chance, you cannot afford your COBRA premiums, you should look into short-term insurance coverage.  Bear in mind that most short-term insurance policies will not cover pre-existing conditions.  Another viable option is to check into health insurance "plans."

4.         Apply for Unemployment Insurance and Benefits.  More than likely, you will qualify for unemployment benefits.  The eligibility requirements differ from state to state and it is important that you contact your local unemployment office right away.  This should be your first step, especially since it will take a few weeks for the processing and until you see your first check.  Some states will require you to go into their office to apply, while others will allow an application done on the phone.  Either way, if you have access to a computer, it is important that you go to the Department of Labor's website (http:www.//dol.gov) to get information pertaining to your state.  Or, you can contact them directly at:  1-877-US-2JOBS (TTY: 1-877-889-5627).

5.         The Department of Labor also has good career information which can be found at: http://www.careeronestop.org/.

6.         Another helpful site on unemployment is the AFL CIO.  They offer a handbook on unemployment, as well as resourceful articles.  More information can be found at their website:  http://www.aflcio.org/yourjobeconomy/help/.

7.         Update your resume.  It is extremely important you have an updated resume.  Make it clear, precise and professional.  There are many sites offering assistance on creating a resume.  Monster (http://www.monster.com) and Hot Jobs (http://www.hotjobs.com) offer free resumes that you can create, and post to their websites.  Higher versions of Microsoft Works also have resume programs available right in their software.

8.         Get an email address.  The majority of employers are accepting resumes through email.  This is much faster than sending your resume through the postal service.  You will need an email address in order to not only send resumes, but to receive replies.  There are numerous places online to get free email addresses.  The most common sites are:  Yahoo! and MSN Hotmail, although you can get a listing of other available websites for free email addresses at:  http://fepg.net.

9.         Seek jobs online and through the classifieds.  Online job searches are the most popular and there are many websites dedicated to seeking employment.  The more popular, online employment websites are:  http://careerbuilders.com, http://hotjobs.com, http://monster.com, and http://jobs.net.  The classifieds in your home newspaper is also a good place to seek employment.  You can either look for employment in the newspaper or at the newspapers online website.  If you are seeking a job in another area, you can check out that areas employment site directly online.  To find a listing of all newspapers, check out this website:  http://usnpl.com.

10.        Register with professional employment agencies.  There are numerous, private agencies available for employment.  Some might require a small registration fee, while others are totally free.

11.        Cold calling.  Stop by other corporations and companies that are similar to the place you have been working at and drop off a resume.

12.        Make sure you have an answering machine or voice mail.  This will be particularly helpful when you are not home to make sure you do not miss out on any important calls relating to employment.

13.        Review your finances.  This is the time for you to know exactly what kind of financial situation you are in.  Make a list of all of your assets, as well as your monthly bills.  If you can, contact your mortgage company or landlord and alert them to your situation.  They might be willing to work something out with you until you find other employment.  It would also be wise to contact your credit card companies, as well as your insurance carrier and bank that has your car loan to see if they will offer you any extensions.

14.        Adjust your standard of living.  This will be the time when you will have to temporarily cut back on unneeded expenses.  Determine which things can be temporarily eliminated and cut back.

15.        Further your education or training.  When you are not seeking employment, this could be a good time to check into the possibility to further your education and/or training.  When you apply for unemployment, ask if they have any programs available to assist you.

16.        Be focused and determined.  Whatever you do, keep your wits about you and know this is only a temporary situation.  Be thorough and consistent in your job search.    Good Luck!

How to Get a Job With a Criminal Record

"Whether you've just been released from a lengthy incarceration or you had a minor scrape with the law when you were a kid, a criminal record can be an added source of anxiety in an already stressful job search. Depending on the severity of your offense(s), your criminal record may not affect your employment prospects at all, or it may make finding a job nearly impossible. Still, you have reason to be hopeful. While you may face some hurdles, you will eventually be able to find employment, regardless of your record. "

IN DEBT : HOW TO GET OUT

This is a very useful resource for knowing what debts are more important . In other words , what you should pay first in order to survive.

HOW TO HANDLE DEBT COLLECTORS

Being in debt is stressful enough , then you have to face talking to debt collectors , who are only 'doing their job' , but are stressing YOU out BIG TIME !

Here are some pages that will help . I hope : )

HOW TO TALK TO A DEBT COLLECTOR

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act                             was passed in 1977 to protect consumers from abusive debt collectors. Here's a closer look at the rules a third-party debt collector must follow when collecting a debt.

Contacting a debtor. A collector may contact you in person, by mail, telephone, telegram or fax. However, a debt collector may not contact you at inconvenient times or places, such as before 8 a.m. or after 9 p.m., unless you agree. A debt collector also may not contact you at work if the collector knows that your employer disapproves of such contacts.

Contacting a third party about your debt. If you have an attorney, the debt collector must contact the attorney, rather than you. If you do not have an attorney, a collector may contact other people but only to find out where you live, what your phone number is and where you work. Collectors usually are prohibited from contacting such third parties more than once. In most cases, the collector may not tell anyone other than you and your attorney that you owe money.

Giving written notice. Within five days after you are first contacted, the collector must send you a written notice telling you the amount of money you owe, the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money and what action to take if you believe you do not owe the money.

When a consumer doesn't owe the money. A collector may not contact you if within 30 days after you receive the written notice you send the collection agency a letter stating you do not owe money. However, a collector can renew collection activities if you are sent proof of the debt, such as a copy of a bill for the amount owed.

No harassment Debt collectors may not harass, oppress or abuse you or any third party they contact.

Debt collectors may not:

  •  Falsely imply that they are attorneys or government representatives.
  • Falsely imply that you have committed a crime.
  • Falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit bureau.
  • Misrepresent the amount of your debt.
  • Give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit bureau.
  • Send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency when it is not.

Debt collectors may not state that:

  • You will be arrested if you do not pay your debt.

  • They will seize, garnish, attach or sell your property or wages unless the collection agency or creditor intends to do so and it is legal to do so.

  • Actions, such as a lawsuit, will be taken against you when such action legally may not be taken or when they do not intend to take such action.

No unfair practices

A debt collector may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt from you.'

Debt collectors may not:

  • Collect any amount greater than your debt, unless your state law permits such a charge.
  • Deposit a postdated check prematurely.
  • Use deception to make you accept collect calls or pay for telegrams.
  • Take or threaten to take your property unless this can be done legally.

Source: Fair Debt Collection, a brochure for consumers from the Federal Trade Commission. (ALSO FROM THE SAME SOURCE AS THE LAST LINK ON THIS PAGE. THIS IS WHERE THEY GOT THE INFORMATION )

Here is a really good page by a lawyer on how to handle debt collectors. Some points that I like : You do not have to talk to a debt collector on the phone. It is better to deal in writing. If you do talk on the phone ,write down everything the debt collector says ,and ALWAYS write down their name and company and their supervisor , if they will tell you.

Hi, anyone gotten a miracle lately?

Even the smallest ones might encourage someone else!

Need Financial Help Badly!!!

We are a family of five.  Over the past year, we have been plagued with numerous medical bills.   Two of our children have had to have surgery and now my husband has injured his back and has not been able to work full-time and therefore cannot get his disability income.  And in order to get SSI, you have to be disabled for at least six months, so we are in a real bind just trying to meet our everyday needs let alone pay all the medical bills we face.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Even if there is a good samaritan out there that is willing to make us a good loan just to get us back on our feet and give us some peace of mind would help tremendously.  Please help....may God bless.

Why Aidpage?

Why Aidpage?

I believe to help someone in need is the most moving and inspiring experience. No other achievement could be so fulfilling. I am not talking about extraordinary circumstances demanding a Hollywood hero. I am talking about everyday situations - problems that for some of us are “piece of cake”. Interesting thing though, no matter how “small” the problem is to us, when we help others, we are getting a lot of satisfaction. We simply feel good about ourselves. We all need that! Yet, in our busy lifes, we often forget how easy it is to feel good about ourselves. That is why Aidpage.

Aid - a short, clear word - apparently everyone knows its meaning. Even more, at any given moment, every one of us needs aid of some kind. However, think about it for a minute and many questions suddenly emerge...

· How can I ask for help?
· Whom should I ask for help?
· How and where can I tell my story?
· Will I be heard?...
· What aid is out there?
· Who is providing the aid?
· Who is receiving aid?
· How does the helper know who is in need and what is needed?

The fact that all these questions exist defines a very real need yet to be met. Imagine a place where such questions could be asked and answered. A public place where an ordinary person can ask and get answers to these questions. That is why Aidpage.

Have you ever met people who need to talk about something with someone? Those people aren't always visible, but their need is as real as it gets. Those around them are simply too busy to notice them, but there are others that would gladly spend time talking or just listening. That is why Aidpage.

Many of us consider our own problems “small” compared to what we see daily on TV and do not ask for help. True, most of the problems we face are not big enough to make the news... What should we do? Try harder... just get used to the idea that we cannot solve them... How about asking for help? Of course, we would ask a relative, a friend, or even a neighbor but that is not always an option. Do we realize that there are other people out there who would help.

We came up with the slogan “People Aid People.” Yes! People are going to help other people. We have faith in the following principles:

· person-to-person giving is a basic human need
· empathy and compassion need no incentives nor conditions
· everybody always "gives" and "takes"
· immediacy and straightforwardness work better than "process"
· people are "wired" for trust

That is why Aidpage.

I need help paying a medical bill.

I've never done anything like this before and I'm a little nervous but I need all the help I can get right now.

My baby got really sick a couple years and at the same time my husband got laid off from his job of 4 years due to the weather.  We were already living check to check so it was only a short period of time before we ran out of money and got evicted from our home.   We're a family of 5, our oldest was 5 years old at the time, and we ended up homeless for 8 months.

In that period of time of being homeless, we were in a car accident and my leg got broken.  I went to the ER and was treated there and almost two months later I got the first bill.  I wrote them back and explained the situation and asked if there was anything we could do to work together to pay the bill and they told me no, it had to be paid in 3 payments (which was $800 per payment) or paid in full.  So I said there was nothing I could do, I don't have ANY money (which was the honest truth).

Then a few months later I got a letter from an attorney who said they were going to sue me for the money.  So I called them and the lady I spoke with told me I was pathetic and if I couldn't pay the bill and new I couldn't pay it then I had no right to go to the doctor in the first place.  They said they wouldn't accept any form of payments that the account had to made in full.  I ended up hanging up on her and cried my eyes out.

I have sent them letters after letter stating that I have recently moved into a home and am looking for a job and as soon as I begin working I would pay them their money.  This was 3 months ago and I haven't heard anything from them until today when I got another threatening letter from them saying they felt they now had no choice but to sue me for the funds and if the account wasn't paid in full in 30 days they'd take legal action.

I have no money!!   It's not like I have a huge savings that I just don't want to touch, I really don't have any money.  I live in a bad neighborhood, in an absolutely disgusting house (with no central heat or a/c).  We burn a lot of candles cause they are cheaper than electricity.  I receive food stamps and WIC and my kids are on Medicaid but this state doesn't offer any assistance for medical or bills to adults.  My husband works 10 hours a day, 6 days a week and a lot of holidays and we make just enough to pay rent and what little utilities we have.  We don't have a vehicle anymore because of the accident.  I just don't have any money.

If they garnish my husband wages, we'll be homeless again.  Like I said, he brings home just enough to pay our rent and utilities.  If they take his wages we can't pay our rent or utilities anymore.

I know I owe this money, even if some of the charges are outrageously high, but I just don't have any money to pay them!!!  How am I supposed to pay them if I don't have any money to give them?  Can anyone help me?

First of all, I'm Ricardo from Austin, Texas. I have lived all of my life in this state. I'm orginally from Abilene, Texas but I've been living in Austin for more than 20 years. I enjoy life to the fullest and I try to do a lot of things. I'm never afaird of doing anything. One of the biggest things I enjoy doing is traveling. My recent adventure was going to the state of Colorado. Beautiful state. I would love to go back and keep exploring its beauty, and it's site it has to see.

The reason for my blog in Aidpage, is to help other with the knowledge that I have devopled from my life experiences.  I've gone up and down the latter and I've have had great credit and bad credit. I've have learned to deal with people, build a small at home business and coach people in being successful in their personal lives and business lives and learned to do a lot of research do make sure I make the right decision.

I want to share that exeperience with others. Give them a different way to look at a problem to find a solution. Give people ideas, a direction and teach those who want to learn. This will help me in the long run because I'm offerring something of value and that is life experience. What it will also do for me is the more I can share, help. I will be rewarded three time more  with a better life. I myself, by sharing what I've learned. This will help me become a better person, develope more experience and help those who needed.

In return life will give me all that I want by doing this.

I'm looking for financial peace of mind or to grow more money and find different ways to get more money in my pocket. I'm looking of me to help other and have them achieve their goals. I looking to help all I can. But I guess I'm looking to get started first on what I need before I can help other. Or maybe it will work out where I do what I need to do at the same time help out.

Well, there are a lot of things that I want to do but first is first. I wouldn’t mind starting a foundation or grant or something that I can walk people through what I've learned. Help them and then go onto the next person. Lot's of time you know your problem but sometime you need that helping hand. Sometimes you need someone to point it out to you. I’ve learned that the hard way.

I guess I'm to give help, so help can come back to me. I willing to quite my job visit each relative and get him or her going and once I feel comfortable with where they are. I go to the next relative and so forth and so on.

But in order to do so, I want to make sure that I'm stable first. I keep reading the Aidpage and there is something in common that I’m finding. We all need some type of help but each of us have a different piece of the puzzle. By putting this community together, we should be able to fit those pieces together and get things going for all of us. In this country and in the lifetime, we have enough for each other to get and give. We just need to learn how to get it and where.

I am an exceptionally hard working clinical psychology doctoral student.  Asside from classes, studying, and working on my dissertation, I spend a great deal of my time volunteering in the community (domestic violence shelters, various children's charities, and an organization that helps adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses become active members of the community).  I am beyond financially stressed right now, my school made a huge error with my financial aid, and while I've managed to get the financial aid office to fix the problem... I won't see the financial benefit of that until my next disbursement in January.  By that time I will have been evicted from my apartment.  I am working 3 part-time jobs on top of going to school and am trying my best to fix this problem.... but I feel like I am drowning and I don't know what else to do.  If there is anyone who can help me... please, I would be eternally greatful!

This page has been created to help aid in my daughter Allanas treatment and recovery. Accepting donations thru paypal, check or in any other form....Contact me anytime.

In December of 2005 my daughter was diagnosed with a rare condition called Severe Idiopathic Infantile Scoliosis. Now Scoliosis can be somewhat common in adolescent children but is very rare in children under 3. As a fact of matter less then 1-2% of children under the age of 3 in the world will ever get this and less then 10% of those children will ever need treatment, my daughters condition is considered so rare because her spine developed below her left shoulderblade and has deformed her ribcage due to the bend in her back, possibly causing problems with things like her breathing and putting pressure on her heart. Even if we get her spine straightnened, she very well will still need rib replacement surgery.

This condition is treatable and she will go on to hopefully lead a somewhat normal life, but currently requires surgery every 6 weeks and she will need therapy and bracing probably until she is 14 and has stopped developing and will probably need some sort of treatment for the rest of her life.

Shriners however has been a godsend, paying for transportation and all of the medical treatment, she however is also developmentally delayed and between all the things she requires, we are strapped.

We are here for any kind of assistance or help, and it would be greatly appreciated, and smiled upon by our daughter. I love everyone for there help,in any form, if even just reading this has brought a little attention to other people with this condition.

Please contact me with any info, questions or donations or even just to see more pictures of my little Allana!!

Hey everyone, well so far I have recieved some help with great resources, links to some foundations that help people pay for some past due medical bills, and also was directed to a great networking/support resource for cystic fibrosis.

I just wanted to encourage you to keep trying. Whatever it is that you are going through, nothing has gone unseen by the Lord, and He will always make a way for you, even if it seems there is no way.

God bless you and I just wanted to encourage you not to give up. This world is full of caring and generous people. Money helps fix many situations I know (we need it too) but just remember that this world is temporary, and so is the situation you are in...even if it feels like it's been going on for years, and you haven't had a brake. Just keep praying and know that He is hearing your prayers. His timing it perfect, He is not slow or uncaring...and everything good in your life, truely that is good in your life, it is from the Lord. Don't forget that.

If you ever are frusterated, and just want someone to pray with you, I am here.

If you haven't checked out Nathan's web site yet, please take a minute and do that.  www.contrerashome.us Thank you very much, one of the biggest blessings you can ever do for us, if share our son's story /web site with other people....even if you can't donate personally. You never know who might see it!!God bless you

Hi i'm a 32 yr old single mom. I have three kids I need to take care of and I just recently went back to work.    I want to thank all who help and prayed for us when we needed food. We now get food stamps to help with the food.  But now winter is coming and I have no money for heating oil to keep us warm.  I work part time and getting paid ever two weeks but not getting enough to pay for my bills.  I love to help people when I can.    I am a very friendly person and easy to get a long with.  I have helped many people in my lifetime and plan to help many more people before I leave this earth.  I hate asking for help but when you need to you just can't help but to ask.  Thank you in advanced and God Bless All and may he answere our prayers.  Even If you just say a prayer that would be big help to us.

Update. It seems like the last year has been the roughest yet. Can't seem to catch a break. In January lost my house to a fire. It was a total lose. Still trying to recover from that. Last month my husband had a massive heart attack. They had to do emergency surgery. Thank God he pulled thru. The holidays are coming up and I don't know what we are going to do for my kids. They are too old to get help from the programs we have around here. They have to be 11 or younger and my youngest is 12. They lost everything in the fire and we just don't have the money to get them anything. Hurts me that I can't replace the things they've lost or give them a christmas. The holidays will be here before we know it.
