Hello my name is Jodell and I am a mother of one eleven year old girl and one 1 year old girl, I am living in the midwest in the US, I have just returned to Iowa from Illinois, I dont know the people are friendly hear, I have lived in Florida once and did not care for it.  So I am back here I recently got married to a man I met online and  I do have a wonderful baby out of the marriage and would not give her back for the world, so I guess me getting married was a  mistake, because   He is still in Africa and it is ver hard to be married to someone who is not with you . I guess i was just tired of being alone, well that did not fix anything because I am still alone.  Upon my return from Africa. I lost my job and my car then was in two car accidents, fell down the stairs and broke my foot, days before I was to deliver my baby, we were in distress and i had to have a C-section and a epidural, that is what i did not want now i have major back problems I have a herniated disk in my low back and osteo arthritis in my back and knees.  I tell you if it is not one thing it is another , but i have signed up for school and I am looking for work and still a little confused about life but I advise all of us to confide in GOD AlMighty because he is the only who can help us.

God Bless you all

I am so proud and excited for my daughter!!

She has been accepted as a People to People International Student Ambassador for the 2007 summer trip to England, Scotland, Ireland and Whales (British History Trip). Students are only able to go on these trips if they have been recommended by a previous delegate or if a certian teachers have referred them. Approximatley 1% of the student population ever has this oppertunity made to them.

She has been asked 4 times previously to join them for trips but this is the 1st year I felt she was old enough to look into going. However the tuition for the trip is $5883.00 of which Mandy has figured out how to earn $3045.00.

We are looking for benefactors and scholarships for the rest of her tuition and emergency funds while she is over seas.

Mandy currently attends High School full time, works 15 – 20 hours a week at a daycare center and baby-sits, cleans and animal sets for various people to earn money. We have taught her that working instead of asking for handouts are the way to live. Sounds good, but now my 14 year old is more worried about  working then she is spending any time relaxing or seeing friends. She talked last night about not going on this amazing trip because that same money could buy a car. I believe this is very deep thinking for any teen and I want to make sure that she does not miss this incredable experience.

She gains 12 hours of college credit and ½ a semester of History credit for H.S.

I am looking for good, honest ideas, and help to make her dream a reality.

Thanks for reading…

Hmmm let me see...My fiance is disabled and i am a healthcare aide(housefiance)and we are trying to buy a house in Iowa. We havent found out if we got it yet. Our  main concern now is that we dont have any extra money for the closing costs or the property evaluation or the tital search that we are sure they are going to want. We dont have any money for furniture even if we do get the property  because he is on disability income due to kidney failure and other medical reasons, and we will be able to afford the morgage and the bills . We are trying to get some help from family and friends but it seems that they are all in the same boat as we are in. I have been searching some of the grant programs on the web but we are not a orginazation and i have no idea where to really start looking..I downloaded 1 program for free but then they tell you in order to use the "free "program you have to regester it for a lot of money which i dont have.I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas on where to start looking..any help will be appriciated  and i also belive in the Pay it forward idea and if i recieve any help I will be more then happy to Pay it forward... thanks in advance .Sharon Delvecchio aka  weebbles wobble sharondelvecchio@hotmail.com

Free Grants

Our business is in need of grants for expanding we have contacted just about everyone. No one can lead us

to federal, private, or state, grants for IOWA.   We just need addresses to send to or something to look at

showing us the real deals .  My sons and I  Paid $1200.00 to a place called national GRANTS they said they

could help us find all kinds of grants. After a year and us making a business plan which took three months

they have failed to come through with one grant or lead. Can someone please help us before we loose out on

everything. Only place we can find you must pay to get a book to show  you the free grant. My question if grants are free to everyone why can't you get a free book from the goverment.

I am a 53 year old grandmother of four who is passionate about learning about the developing brain.  To do this, I interact with my grandchildren on their level.  Please help me further my education by moving to their city and going to school.  My husband said I have to pay off my credit cards which total $25,000.00 before he will consider helping me go to school.
My son

I am glad that the presence of God is abundant enough to have places like these in our busy worlds.

I would like to start by saying God Bless.  I have never been in this position before, I have always been low income, but it's getting ridiculous.  I went to court for my disibility 4 months ago. I have yet to get a decision. We had to move because the mold in our apt was making me very ill. I am a 32 year old single mother, my sons dad passed away in January last year. I am on oxygen, and have many health problems. My son however is healthy and intelligent. We are living on a very small amount monthly,  if we had a car that was safe or if I could get him some clothes, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Sincerely, cosmicshepherd@gmail.com

Finishing Bachelor's Degree

Hi.  I am a 26 year old with 37 credits completed towards a BS in Biology/Chemistry.  After deciding to return to school, I found that the financial liability was too much to handle.  I have been warned once of a possible foreclosure on my home, but luckily caught up on my payments.  As of 7/28/06, my bank has considered me to be in default on my car payment and, unless I learn something new tomorrow, I'm afraid that I will be losing my only means of transportation.  I dropped out of High School at the age of 17 and became heavily involved in drugs.  At the age of 20, I had a psychological breakdown that took nearly 2 years to recover from.  I have been diagnosed with depression, bi-polar disorder, and schizo-effective disorder.  Rather than use these things as an excuse to let my life go, they have helped motivate me to do more with my life.  As of right now, I am able to live without medication, own my own home, exercise 4 days a week and have kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training 3 times a week.  It is starting to become very hard to stay focused on work or school with my financial burdens.  If anyone knows of any scholarships that are available to a person in my position, it would help me tremendously.  Also, I am ineligible for federal grants because I earned too much money last year, before I decided to go back to school.

Hey everybody

I am not looking to get rich or anything, just alittle something to get me down the right path again.I have Bi-polar and if anyone knows what that is,it can really screw things up for quit sometime until they fine the right meds.I was in and out of the hospital many of times, and everyone knows once you get behind,it takes twice as long to get ahead or in the clear again.I work day and night now,and just can't keep up with the pace anymore.I am not expecting to get this, because nothing comes free I was always told, but I would like to have roughly 7000.00 to take care of past due bills,an to take the pressure off myself for once.

Since my well went dry last year I've had to haul water. I've learned not waste a drop but it has been very difficult to deal with in many ways. I've been trying to save money for a new one but I'm not getting very far. In fact, at this rate by the time I have enough money I'll probably have alzhiemers too and won't even be able to tell you what a toilet or a shower is let alone use them. To drill a new well I can expect to go 265 feet deep and will cost around $8000.00. I am a 50 year old woman who lives alone in the midwest and just does't make enough money to hardly save any extra. So if you could see it in your heart to help me out, I would greatly appreciate any help so much. And if not, thank you for taking the time to read this, Horsefeathers.

My husband and I were separated from 2004 to 2006 and brought our marriage back to God and were reconciled in July, 2006. In August, to make a good start and because methamphetamine dealers were taking over our neighborhood, we moved with our three children and dog to a smaller town. I had a place all set up to rent. As we were pulling the moving truck out of the driveway, the landlord called to say the new place...not so much. So we were essentially homeless but chose to proceed to the new town anyway.

We stayed on a family farmhouse for 3 months but that was not to be permanent as it had no furnace. In November, 2006 we found a great house to rent in the new town, my husband had been working construction and I had some money coming in from my writing.

He lost his job in December.

He found a better one in January.

I worked part time retail from January to May but at that point summer came and what I would make would all be going to daycare for our four year old and we did not qualify for day care assistance because I was not working 28 hours a week.

Over the summer I was promised $10,000 from a single writing contract (signed and notartized) and another $2-5,000 from various writing activities, some of which were potential clients who, for whatever reason never signed their contracts.

I received none of this money. The $10k was promised in May and I still don't have it. The rest, well, I guess it is their perogative if they sign up or not but they said they were going to in July and August. This money was going to go to the landlady to buy the house on contract. Now her own child has moved back to town and being on a month to month lease she can oust us to get her own child in the house.

We did make the mistake of paying groceries and lights and school expenses before rent.

That will NEVER happen again. We will pay for the roof over our heads first because we have more options for procuring food, etc. I take ownership for the mistake and it will not repeat.

I am now working a call center job with part time evening hours and will get my first paycheck on October 3. I also have an interview for a part time admin assistant job and I have the exact experience of this job -- admin for a national nonprofit -- I worked as a temp for the exact same nonprofit at a different location doing the exact same thing and now I know a lot more about nonprofit management so I would be great at this job. Unfortunately we have to be out by the 28th. Yeah 4 days from now. And we don't have a place yet. "It's rented." "It's been rented."  "No pets." "No children." "It's been rented." "Do you have good credit?"

Husband has been working steady all year at the same job never missed a day and has had two raises. However it only brought him up to $9.75 an hour which is not enough for five people to live on.

Our mistake in paying other expenses and bills before rent did catch up to us but we will never do it again.

We need $1500 for moving expenses but will take whatever we can get to not leave the landlady who has been generally good to us up til now in the lurch. I tried to have a yard sale but as it was a cool windy day it only made $50.

We have strong faith that God will find us the perfect house (this one turned out not to be ideal as the ceiling fell in on my daughter's head one day as she was sitting on the computer minding her own business.

I have bipolar disorder and my teen son has autism and my husband has Marfan's so we have our struggles and medical bills too but right now we just need a new place to live immediately.

I also have faith that one day my $10k will come in. After all they signed a legal contract so they can't just say, "not so much" at this point. I could go after them if they continue to delay or make excuses but for now I want to work with them. Should that ship come in, I vow to help the next person or more than one person or family with at least as much $$$$ as I receive on here.

I think that is what will make this community thrive.

Thank you so much for your consideration and God bless you and your loved ones.

A (wife) B (4 year old son) C (11 year old daughter) D (teen son) E (dad) F(cat - may she rest in peace) G (black Labrador dog).

I pray that someone drops by and blesses you. They are checking me for sarcodosis tomorrow due to outbreaks of the skin. I don't know if you did research but when they mentioned that to me I did right away, sometimes it can go away as suddenly as it appeared but other times it may effect other organs, and the skin. So I am believing for a miracle for you. Be blessed and get well soon!

I moved to Iowa 2 years ago with my boyfriend.  We finally got our own apartment and have realized it's more expensive here than we're used to.  I work around the apartments to reduce our rent and he works, but he doesn't make much.  Currently we are 2 months behind on all of our bills.  I'm trying to sell my prize possesion (my car) to be able to pay the bills, but that's not working either.  A friend gave us a car so we could drive around in the winter.  But we're going to have to sell that car as well just to pay the bills.  If anyone could help us financially it would be greatly appreciated.  May God bless and keep you all.
