I am a SAHM mom of 2 toddlers and a step-mom to a pre-teen. I am a loving and supportive spouse to a man in the Army.

I am looking for a few games to be gifts for my kids.  Games will be great for the kids and for us. We can sit down and have some family nights before my other half ends up deployed again. Hoping the kids will remember those nights with 'daddy' and can't wait for him to come back so we can do it again.

Also on my links I have a site that I am trying to sell things to get money to cover bills, food, and gifts. Thx =)

You can  PM if you have more questions or would like to help out. Thank you and God Bless All of You!

I am a disabled vietnam era veteran. About two years ago I suffered two strokes and saw first hand the obstacles that people and families in need go thru when they are struck with an unforeseen incident. The world can turn into a cruel and cold and lonely place. It seems that the only visitors that approach you are people that want to take their pound of flesh. All the collectors come to collect their debts and there is no way of holding them off. Sometimes families are forced to make harsh and rash decisions just in order to survive the tradegy.

I do not want anyone to feel the way that I did when I had my strokes. Dealing with the feeling of complete loss and disarry of your life only compounds itself on your situation. It harms both you and the family around you in so many ways. The emotional, physical and financial strain can become unbearable. Along with the illness and long sleepless nights you are also plagued with the ever approaching feeling of doom. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO SURVIVE!!!

I was able to first hand experience this and to speak with others that have gone through these incidents also. There are a few basic needs that must be met in order to get through this crisis safely and remain in a stable environment.

Basic needs include but are certainly NOT limited to:

Food / Shelter / Medical Care

Knowing that someone cares and that there are people who can or want to help, makes a big difference in bridging the gap to becoming healthy and viable again.

What I have decided to do and wish to attempt to pass on to people are both the basic needs and the knowledge that there are others that care and sympathize with people in need.

I hope to help bridge the gap between the needs and the needy!

I am starting a non-profit organization to help veterans and their families cope with the difficult and rocky time between receiving either their benfits or their pension. I wish to exted this service also to the homeless in need.

I need help to get this venture started. Any help from you would help out the cause greatly!!!  One of the things that we need too do is purchase wholesale/discount/surplus items to raise  funds for the cause.
We can't do this without you and there are people waiting to be helped. Please help us bridge the gap between the needed and needy.

I want to be an organization that ACTUALLY helps, not just a name that people are turned away from when they are in need.

I am a gymnastics instructor and mom.  I have loved gymnastics since I was 5 years old.  I follow my husband around the country with the Army and coach gymnastics everywhere we go.  Fort Polk has hit me with a dead end.  So I want to start my own gym to provide gymnastics to the local Leesville, LA and military communities with a quality gymnastics program.
Please help a military guy in need trying to keep his daughter in his life

First let me start by saying this was hard for me to do.  I am currently going through a divorce and have been wiped out.  The worst part is I am in danger of losing my daughter.  My spouse wants only suppervised visitation for me.  I am stationed thousands of miles away from my daughter and will only get the opportunity to see her once a year.  I dont want to have to be babysat when we are together.  she is the light of my life and I have always hated leaving her when i deploy.   Now I am dealing with her absense daily.  he thought of not getting to be with her is killing me.  I need some help so i can hire a good lawyer so that i can get some decent visitation rights.  Any help would gratefully be appreciated.

Be Someone's Angel

I am writing on behalf of my brother Andrew and his family. For the past few years, his family has encountered nothing but hardships. It seems like the harder they work the more in debt they become. Just recently Andrew was diagnosed with bone marrow disease, and unfortunately, his insurance cut him completely off from aid. Also, the state of New York considers him diasabled, which makes it very difficult for Andrew to apply for aide, as well as jobs. In fact, Andrew racked up  very pricy hospital bills because he had to go to the emergency countless times dues to pain, black outs, and severe fevers. Not to mention the cost of prescription drugs. No one should have to live life this way, especially not since aid is readily available in the U.S. Furthermore, Andrew had no choice but to file for bankruptcy due to his inability to work or perform tasks for money. Months after the completion of the bankruptcy, his wife Amanda was diagnosed with cancer( Leukemia), and his son, only four years old, has been very ill. I do not know what to do. I have tried almost everything that I could to try and raise money for my brother and his family. I even went to the extent and wrote Oprah a letter in hopes that she would feel my pain and answer me.  Of course, nothing seemed to work. I do not want my brother and his family to continue life collecting unpaid hospital bills. This should not be happening in America. I served in the armed forces for three years, protected my country and the people. All I pray and ask for, is that the government returns the favor and helps bring hope back into my brother and his families lives. Please, tell me what I should do or what I can do.

Hello.  I am new to this so I am not even sure if I am doing this properly but its worth a shot.  I am very stressed and I may vent so I apologize.

I am 25 years old and married to a soldier serving in Iraq. I have been very depressed and extremely stressed out since he left.  I have had to take on so much on top of worrying about him everyday.  My stress level has reached a new high.  I just have so much on my plate right now I just cannot handle it anymore.  We have so many bills to pay each month and it never seems like I can pay them all.  I was laid off from my job and I have been trying so hard to find a new one but it seems like there are none in my small town.  My credit as well as my husbands nearly perfect credit is now in the toilet because I would forget to pay a bill all together one month or I would forget to pay a bill and pay extra on another one to try to pay it off and then when that bill would arrive I wouldn't have the money to pay for it anymore.  The people at my husbands bank are not nice at all.  They would not let me change the address on his account even though I have full power of attorney on it, I was told  that they would not recognize it.  I went in this month to pay on his loan, they always have to look up the account for me and the teller was very rude and never mentioned to me that there was a problem with the account.  Now I did not receive the notice in the mail being they did not let me change my address and I received a call saying the account went negative on January 31 and they have been charging me 5 dollars a day ever since.  This was an error that never should have happened in the first place.  I changed a bill that was being taken out directly from that account to another one because it was easier for me to keep track of and I assumed it would stop that month but it did not.  If I was told about it I would have gladly taken care of it right away but I didn't have the chance.  I guess this is what is putting me over the edge right now.  I have more bills than I can keep track of right now.  I have way too much on my mind and I am so lost and have no idea what to do.  My husband and I were married at the court house before he left and are planning to have a wedding for our families this fall when he returns but now I am not sure if this can happen.  To top off the stress with the wedding planning the place where I bought my dress ordered it 4 sizes too big and did not order the wrap that came with it and is being very difficult with me.  I actually had to go to the Better Business Bureau about her and she continues to lie which is so frustrating.  I am just so overwhelmed right now.  I have no clue what to do anymore.  I want to find a consolidation loan but I have bad credit so I cannot get one.  Can anyone help me?  Point me in the direction of away I can get help with my financial trouble?  Is there some place that will give me a loan?  My husband will be home on leave sometime this spring for 2 weeks and I am so afraid we will have no money while he is here and I will have a break down.  If someone could help me out I would be so grateful.  You would save my sanity.  I really feel as though I am going to loose it soon.  I have so much going on on top of everything I have already wrote about.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

Broke

I need money...I served in the military for two years, just got a general under honorable conditions discharge and I dont qualify for unemployment.  My  license is suspended for a year and where i live there is nothing in walking distance of a job. I have no way of collecting any type of income to pay bills or afford groceries. My little brother was just kicked out of my dads house and lives in pennslyvania, and i have to scrape up the left of the  money i have from my last paycheck to get a plane ticket for him just to come out here so he has a place to stay besides on the streets.  I have two maxed out credit cards, a loan that needs to be paid off, and my husband isnt making enough money to pay off my bills and his. I need help. Financial help just to get on my feet again.  I put two years into the government and now they wont do anything for me.  Please help.

Working but in need of help!

My name is Michelle I am married with two children.  My husband and I are both active duty military and we don't qualify for WIC foodstamps, anything.  I had a complex spinal surgery and now I am getting ready to get out of the Marine Corps due to my medical situation.  We can't afford our house payment or food.  The Marine Corps does nothing for the members who are in severe financial distress.  When I called my mortgage company to try and lower our monthly payments they told me to sell my house.  Great I thought, then I can be broke and not have a roof to put over my childrens head. We desperately need help.  Money, gift cards to Giants or any grocery stores, Walmart so I can get our children clothes that fit them any little bit will help.  We are a Christian Family just trying to live a happy life.  Please help us!

I was born in Tacoma, Washington.  Oldest child of eight (8) brothers and sisters.  Raised my three (3) boys alone for 15 years.  Remarried in 1997 to a man that I thought was an answer to the waiting and prayers that I had.  After my mother passed away in 2000 from cancer, my husband changed.  He became hateful towards my sons.  Granted they made horrible choices in their lives and took paths that I do NOT agree with, but they are still my sons and when they are trying, why does he expect me to turn my love and back on him????

I retired from the military after 20 years as a Captain.  I am currently trying to help the veterans by being active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars; which is all volunteer work.

My husband is disabled and unable to work.  Stays home all the time.

Assistance for Graduate Education

I am currently seeking aid to complete my raduate program in Adult and post-secondary education so that I can teach at the college level on US Military Installations.  I hope to teach history, politics and literature in shortened format so that our warriors can still get an education, even with the current operational tempo being so hard and quick.

I retired from the military 2 years ago after 20 years of service, and moved to Atlanta.  I was working as a Defense Contractor and was laid off in early 2007.  I struggled with a severance package to stretch out during the duration of my layoff.  As a result, my emergency savings is completely depleted and my bills are currently more than my income.  I have a 5 year old daughter that I am supporting and with the holiday season coming up, I want her to have a nice Christmas.  I don't buy anything at all for me, and take less than $20 per week for myself, the rest goes to my sustaining my daughter, my household, and my bills.

I've received some help from friends and family already, and need $2000 to bring all of my bills current and to get my head above water once again.  Any assistance, no matter how much or how little, would be greatly appreciated.

I am a 21 year old military wife about to celebrate my 3rd anniversary to my marine. We are up to our necks in bills and my husband is leaving for Iraq in about 3 months. He is going to be gone for 6 months to a year and I just want to know that I am going to be okay to handle everything while he is gone without going crazy and I don't know what else to do. I believe it takes a strong person to admit their mistakes and ask for help. This truly humbles me, but if there is anyone willing to help it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone,

I really just need to vent.  I'm currently 6mos pregnant with my first baby.  I had no intentions on having ANY children at all.  Nevertheless, I DO NOT believe in abortion and figured since I am almost 30yrs old, maybe it wasn't the worst situation in the world.  I'm a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a full time student one year away from graduating, and also had a full time job and my own place.  I had no idea things would take the turn that they did.  I started to suffer from severe morning sickness around the third month and had to be hospitalized three sepearate times.  I lost more than 15lbs and couldn't even keep water down, let alone ginger ale and crackers.  Needless to say, I lost my job.  By the time the morning sickness subsided, I was more than ready to try to find new employment, but my belly was now poking out so no one wants to hire me.  I have been barely scraping enough money together to pay my rent and utilities.  I had to get on food stamps, which was something I NEVER wanted to say I had done in my life.  My gas bill is coming up soon, and I don't have the money for that.  Rent is due soon and I don't have the money for that.  It's getting so bad, that I'm considering taking the old man down the street up on his offer.  He wants to help me out if I "help" him out.  I'm so depressed I can hardly focus on the excitement of a brand new baby coming into my life.  I thought I had everything figured out.  I hadn't planned on losing my job.  I don't know what else to do.  I've tried to get short term loans, but you need verifiable income to even be considered.  I need at least $500 by the 1st or I'm going to be without lights, gas, and possibly a place to live.  I'm sure my landlord won't just evict me, but there's no negotiating with the utility companies, especially since I've already been late so many times over the past couple of months.  I'm willing to do any kind of work:  cleaning, cooking, laundry, whatever anyone needs to earn the money.  I'm not just looking for a handout.  I cannot believe how pitiful I sound.  Are there any veterans organziations that may help?  I've searched for hours online and found nothing.  Can anyone guide me in a better direction?
