NEVER GIVE UP fighting for your rights as a disabled person

THE CONTINUING MESS OF SOCIAL SECURITY

This article that chronicles a fellow disabled person and her journey through the MESS OF SOCIAL SECURITY IN OUR COUNTRY.

Do people  finally get their benefits ? I believe that some people do   ( go to this article on Emils page   http://seeking-disability-from-social-security-read-this-article.architect.aidpage.com/

I am sure some people do finally recieve Social Security benefits.   In fact  Social Security is so diligent ( yes TOTALLY SARCASTIC)  in helping that  SOME PEOPLE ARE APPROVED AFTER THEY DIE ! (Read the article after this one.)

Even so , we need to KEEP FIGHTING AND NEVER GIVE UP.

You deserve to live a life free of the stress of finances and fighting for yourself . The struggle to get the assistance we need should not make us sicker from the stress and energy it takes ! ! !

( A good lawyer can help take the load off of some of the fight, however , they can only do so much , so BE AN ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF AND OTHERS.)

Disabled often wait years for Social Security payment

The disabled may go years from initial claim to Social Security payment

Judith Byrd thinks Social Security has flunked its first big test with baby boomers. After losing her airline customer service job following medical problems, the 59-year-old Allen woman waited more than two years for an answer to her claim for disability insurance.

Ms. Byrd received her first payment last May after enduring what she describes as the longest 26 months of her life. The pain of her unrelenting back problems and the frustration of dealing with a government bureaucracy threw her into a crippling depression that kept her at home for weeks. ( This is so common . We already have medical challenges , then we get fatigued even more by our fight and just for fun , horribly depressed too. -soulight )

Shot Five Times By Her Husband Then Denied Social Security Benefits

April 22, 2008 8:51 AM

"She lived in Key West, Florida.  One day her husband shot her 5 times in the liver and abdomen and then killed himself.  In AUGUST 2004 she applied for social security disability benefits.  Her disabilities were caused by the 5 wounds and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.  After a delay, her claim was denied.  In APRIL 2006, she requested a hearing.  It took nearly two years, but in EARLY MARCH of 2008, she got her hearing.  In LATE MARCH of 2008 SHE DIED.  AFTER her death social security ruled in her favor."
