end of life research study

I have started a research project attempting to provide dying pediatric patients a way to deal with their impending death.  There is very little research available about how to assist people that are dying, especially a child.  This study utilizes interviews and a video camera.  The goal is to find a means for children to talk about the dying process as well as to leave a legacy.  I would like to get other hospitals in the US involved in this study.  Currently the study has only been implemented at Arkansas Children's Hospital and I would like to get other pediatric centers involved.  Having more institutions involved will increase access to data.  I need financial assistance to be able to cover costs of travel and training to these other institutions that wish to participate in this study.

I am in my early twenties and desperately trying to start my life.  I live paycheck to paycheck like many people, but am trying to go to nursing school.  It is almost impossible, as I don't have any leftover money once my rent and electricity is paid.  I also do not have a car, so I have to rely on other people to take me to and from work.  I don't have anybody who can take me to and from school.  For every $100 I receive, I will pledge $10.  In addition, once I have completed school, I will pledge back DOUBLE every penny I received.  Please help me, and I will help others.

Single Mother Returning to School

Hi,

I am a single mother who has been going through a difficult period in my life. I graduated from nursing school in 2000. While returning  to school the next fall to work on my BSN, my father was tragically killed on the job Dec. 26, 2001.  My mother, also, was diagnosed with cancer.  My world fell apart from there.

Due to the extreme stress, I became ill and lost my new job.  Shortly after, I was diagnosed with two lifelong painful disorders that left me unable to work for a year and a half.  I did return to work- only to last for four months.  Again, I was off another ten months.

Starting in the summer of 2003, I returned to school online working on the prequsites that I had to take in order to get in the nursing program.  Finally, I have FINISHED!!!!!

But, I have had to take out student loans to accomplish this.  And now I will be planning on attending the Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences via Online BSN program in the Spring.  I NEED MONEY, MONEY,MONEY, that I don't have to repay back. I need all the grants or scholarships I can get to supplement my income so that I don't have to borrow anymore.

Anyone who knows how to help me get access to these  funds that are available to nurses, please CONTACT  ME!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!

Hello, my name is Eric Valdez and I am looking for money to go to college.  Normally I don't like to ask for help but in this case I need it.  My famliy is low-income and can't in any way help me pay for college.  I am looking to go to the University of Pittsburgh and that will cost me about 25,000 a year and that is just for tuition.  I am trying to apply to every scholarship in sight and I hope I get some sort of financial aid from the university.  If I can pay for college my goal will be to get my master's in the science of nursing and be a physician's assistant.  If anybody out there can help me meet my goal please e-mail me at lightofdawn22@aim.com.  I know putting a post on this thing is a long shot but I hope that someone can please help.

Hello everyone.

Well, I've just moved to Memphis, Tennessee 4 months ago from Dallas, Texas. I've been in the Semiconductor Industry for the past 13 years but recently lost my contract job at Texas Instruments. I have an AAS degree in Electronic Engineering and it's defiantly been a good degree to have, especially being a woman. There are just not many of us out there that have this type of degree. The Semiconductor Industry has been very "up and down" the past 10 years and has finally caught up with me and I'm so very tired of having contract after contract with no 'full-time' in sight. So, I want to change my career into nursing but really have no clue as how to go about it other than talking with a college counselor.

I’m a single Mom of three with one income and of course busy, busy, busy all the time. I’ve heard there are plenty of scholarships out there for single mothers and have found a few sights which end up with long drawn out explanations of how you should go about filling in ‘your information’. Does anyone out there know and easier way to go about this process? I’m positive anything you want bad enough is hard to achieve but if you ask the right questions it might not be as complicated as it may seem.

Thanks for your help and also if you have any questions feel free to ask. Remember,… You may never know unless you ask.

fund to pay for college this semester
I need money to pay for my tuition this semester.  I did not do good summer semester so I don't think I'll be able to get financial aid fall semester.  I really need the funds .  I have five kids that I have to see about.  I really can't afford to pay my childcare fee. I get assistant for them to go to daycare.  I also have to pay someone to keep them on the weekend.  I have two kids that go to daycare M-F from 7:30-5:00.  My four go after school.  I just got it where I can work twelve hours on saturday and sunday so that I can have time to be able to get study-time in while my kids are in daycare.  I also need a little extra fund so that I can pay down on a reliable car.  The car that I drive belongs to my bestfriend/cousin.  It's a 1978 chevy impala and drink gas.  It take my pitiful paycheck.  It was broke down and I missed to many days out of class summer. My main concern is funds to pay for fall semester 2005.

I am looking for any type of scholarships and or low interest loans to continue my education in nursing.  I am a single mother and a full time student.  I also would like to find assistance paying for my boards for my LVN license and background check. I need to retake the exam because I let too much time lapse between renewal fees.

Staff nurse desiring more education

I've worked as a medical-surgical nurse for the past fourteen years and have decided that since my experience has led me into the training of newer nurses, I quite enjoy the educating aspect of nursing.  Having graduated from an Associate's degree program, I realized the need to enter into a bachelor's program as the first step to getting into the education department of my hospital.  I work as a night shift nurse and obtaining my degree on line has proven to be the most convenient avenue to take.  But, alas, with convenience comes cost, and the programs seems to be one of the most expensive.  With this in mind, I was wondering about the availability of financial assistance.

Request for Information regarding financial assistance to complete nursing program

I am interested in attending nursing school full time (which is required).  I have two small children, one, 5 years of age and one, six months of age.  I have completed all of my requirements and will receive the nursing application in October.

I am currently attending school two days a week and work the other five days.  It is very difficult with the children, however, I am determined to succeed.  I work at Popeye's Chicken and am given evening shifts often.  This make is difficult for babysitting purposes, however, I will not turn any shift down because I do need the money.

Any information you can provide pertaining to assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Where can I find money?

I am a 45 year old LPN who has decided to return to school and become a RN. My only problem is that I am returning around the same time that my youngest daughter is beginning and we do not qualify for any Financial Aid. Are there any scholarships or grants out there for someone in my predicament?
