I'm a single mom of 2 boys, 13 and 21. I raised my oldest right and he's well on his way to becoming a man I'm very proud of. I still have my youngest to raise but I'm certain he will follow in his brother's footstops (minus the not so good stuff! ). I was diagnosed with MS years ago, and am now going thru a battery of tests to determine if in fact it IS MS. So, I cannot work, out side the home or in the home. I need a little help for Christmas. My youngest asks for nothing and I want to get him the things I know he wants so much...a bike, ps2 games, controller, Movies, a new bow and arrows, a target for that and art supplies. He's a wonderful young man, having begun his venture into teen hood just yesterday. I am a wonderful, caring, kind, loving woman who always does her best to help others out. Now it's my turn to ask for help and it's oh...so hard.

why did i look into this site, well after a report about how people helped skreetch from saved by the bell. i thought i would see if such a site existed. but i found more than i expected. one to see that there are people worse off than myself and yet i can say we are poor, we do need help, but we are surviving, you wonder what kind of help do we need. one is

prayer

prayer on what you may ask? well my husband is going to school to better our life as a EMT security guard and every time he tries to find ways to improve our lives disaster hits. example he tried to work in security and become a insurance agent and when his security job found out they changed his schedule during the best time to get contracts after being on the same job schedule for 3 years, also kept placing him on call instead of hours to work, which effected scheduling appointments. school for ministry, but our youngest got very sick and ended up in the hospital which caused him to fail and loose his grant money chances. then the school ended up loosing its accreditation. our cars were breaking down around that time. but we finally have a car that cut that problem. we had a wonderful church that we felt a part of for so many years and the pastor leaves to minister overseas, bringing in a pastor that ruined the church and took away from people who were helping the church grow. but now we are helping a wonderful man to start a new church, he needs prayer for growth and a building to preach.

my dream is more of a money thing to start. i want to start a help center, with clothing, food, budget education, reading help, low cost evening daycare for parents to have a few hours to themselves. a place where college students can earn volunteer credits for their resumes, rooms for educational purposes or scout meetings, to teach crafts and skills to help people.

as a military brat i have seen the smallest of buildings used in so many ways. that activities can work together. even a small basketball court, uncarpeted so that it can be used for different dances or skating or allow water games that wont ruin the floor. have a place to have little carnivals or fund raisers, meetings for locals to teach people a skill or craft. it can be a safe place for kids to run if scared. yes this also sounds like a youth center, but i want to build one where people help people, not products like computer or video games babysit the kids, have game tables that involve skills and teamwork, board games and home work help also from volunteers. having a child with medical needs is also a challenge and the education about her condition is so little that the place can be a medical education, and to share with the area other uncommon conditions others wish to share with people. like turrets, i just learned there are over 200 types of seizures. how many knew that? i learned that selective hearing and selective sight isn't just a joke for kids who don't want to look or listen to the parents. its a true condition, my daughter has selective sight, where she blanks out like you don't exist when you think she is staring at you. this sight has many who ask for money. i wish i could, but the money needed for my direction is to big. PRAYER would be great, ideas to get this started would be appreciated, take in mind, i have very little college education, hardly enough money to live without struggle and a handful with 3 daughters. my youngest has a condition called ACC(agenesis of the corpus callosum) missing the middle brain stem, we feared seizures, but god answered that prayer and no indication sense she was 1. her mind is effected by migraines due to her mind can not be work as hard as a normal kid without headaches, but resting helps and slower pacing as well. she is only 5, migraines are not good for a child that age, she has asthma from the time of the hospital stay 3 years ago and we are always careful with that. i have a bright gifted daughter who wants to grow up to fast, she feels she is equal to an adult at age 12, A student, she is a musician, singer, writer, artist, fastball thrower, good kicker and great help to me at home. she wishes to be a primary teacher when she grows up.  my middle child who is 9needs prayer. she is in 2nd grade and she has learning problems, getting tested for ODD(oppositional defiant disorder) ADHD, she cant sit still and her attention in and out of school is very short, but she is great in science, math and gymnastics direction. we will not medicate her and the school took 2 years to finally test her after we kept at them to help her, my youngest is bright even with her condition, she can read and write backward and forwards, started writing at 4, talks like a 8 year old. her teacher is very proud of her. my help center. is a dream, it's a wish, it's prayer, its a love of helping people as i can. god gave me the vision and the direction to do. i know one day that with gods will and gods timing such a organization will happen, even if it is started in a church or government office or a private direction. weather i started or share my knowledge for those who can start it, i know with what gift god gave me that it will happen. , why i know, he has proven himself with healing my daughter when deathly sick, saving another from a 2 story fall, helping my best friend thru her struggles and the peace that things will happen for the better, not by my time, but his allone, not my way, but his  way will be done. one phrase for me is this....

if god and the lord jesus wills it then so be it.

god bless everyone

peace fill your mind as you go thru your daily lives .

Hello,

Leaving another state (placing my furniture in a moving and storage company warehouse), I quickly moved to this area in order to provide emergency care for my family. I 've lived here long enough for my storage bill to escalated to a figure that's difficult to pay in full. I need help paying the $2,000 fee so that I don't lose my furniture. Once it's paid a friend will use his truck to help me bring the furniture to my new home. I currently have a good job and I can now make sizable payments to return this financial favor to the person or organization that would help me.  Thank you in advance for any assistance you can offer.

Hope for Help

Grant for building, or aquiring a building, and necessary fixtures

I am a 57-year-old woman that is partially unemployed.  I lost my full-time job in February and need to replace that income.  I am not old enough to retire and won't be able to retire until at least 65.

There is a dream I have had for many years to own my own business.    I am not getting any younger and believe that if I am ever going to accomplish this dream, I had better do something about it now.  I live in a rural area and feel that there is a need for the business I want to develop.  I would like to have a grant to build a steel building  and include living quarters with it in the back, to avoid extra finances for living quarters.  Because of my age, a business loan might not be feasible.

I will probably need to hire a couple of people to help me eventually as well.  I also may need a grant for living expenses while the business is getting started and off the ground.

Hi, I'm Kelly and I am a Nurse in Need of Your Help

I am a woman who has dedicated my life to helping others but sadly, I was injured at work and was told by the doctor to stop working. The doctors think that the damage to my knees are extensive but my employer says the injuries are unverified and has convinced the insurance company to hold off treatment. Even though I have been treated terribly by my employer and the insurance company, I still have faith in the caring and compassion of others. It is with this belief that I humbly ask for help. Although financial help is what I need so desparately, even a kind word or some advise will be greatly appreciated.

If you would like more information about me and the help I need, please click on my AidPage 'Can you please help a nurse in need?'

I'm a single mother of 2 boys, ages 13 and 21. My youngest lives with me, while my oldest lives in another state. I was recently re-diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis...December 2006. Originally diagnosed in 1997, I worked thru the many problems this disease afforded me, w/o insurance or a doctor per se...until an enjoyable yet extremely physically hard job brought about, little by little, regularly occuring symptoms of MS. I quit that job after over 2 years in hopes that I might be able to go back to work after a short break. I did do so, working in the mental health field. Again, loving the work and the people, but early rising and walking  to and from work, brought on more health issues and after my brother passed away soon after beginning this job, I decided something was bound to give and I didn't want it to be me. I applied for SSI and disability, started back with medical help, went on medication for my symptoms, and recently started an MS based intermuscular medication.

I try very hard to keep a smile on my face, remain positive no matter what, if not for the MS but for my 13 year old son. He doesn't complain, he very rarely asks for anything and if he wants something, he saves the money he gets for birthdays, etc for it. He recently got $20 and what did he buy? A pair of sandals for himself for $6. He helps around the home...not w/o complaints mind you..he STILL is a teen!...but he generally is so good natured and happy, I cannot believe my luck as far as  sons are concerned. His older brother is exactly the same...both being glad they were raised by me and in a non material world. Do you know how much I wish I could have raised them WITH those little things? But I'm glad they know unconditional love, if not anything else.

I cannot work, although I want to (SO MUCH)...my arm muscles and leg muscles are affected most, along with memory. Amazing how I retain my love of writing. I would LOVE to take up photography although that will have to wait for Christmas, when I can ask for a digital camera from Santa. I want to get my poetry published but with the fatigue MS provides me, that small taks tends to get in the way when it comes down to what is done first around our home. I get assistance with rent...I pay $150 of the full amt...I also get medicaid and food stamps. I get $348 in child support but out of it has to come utilities, rent and whatever else I need for the month. Needless to say the other bills I owe are put along the wayside, and I am constantly behind on utilities and those other bills. I hate this disease at times and hate having to be asking for help, financial or other wise. I do not have a car so rides to get groceries or my scrips are hard to come by cause that means I have to actually ASK. It's always been ME who was the one to go to...and now it's ME who needs the help. How uttlerly humbling that is. Even now, the tears run down my face as I realize where this disease has brought me. Yet you know those tears will not last long, because surely others need my prayers and those tears.

I am an idiot, to be perfectly honest.....I got married because I was so "in love" 7 years ago. (and pregnant) --I found out a few years into my marriage that my husband had a closet drug problem... First a little money was missing...and then a lot. I guess he grew tired of hiding his addiction. Same old story, I threatened to leave him, he promised he would change.... Needless to say he didn't. Not following the smart advice of friends and family, I stayed with him, thinking I could change...help him...... And our son totally adores him. I decided last December (2005) that I was done with living that awful life that I had to paint so pretty everyday. He moved out....Things were good, I reclaimed my life, my finances.... Then I found out that I was 3 months pregnant. I had my youngest son the end of October. In the middle of my pregnancy he talked me into "letting him back in" giving it one last shot. The day I went into labor, we drove to the hospital. While I was in triage he said he was going to run back to our house and grab a few things for me and himself. I let him use my car, he said he would be back in 45 minutes. That was at 4pm that day.... He finally came back the day I was being discharged from the hospital (48 hours later). Without my car.... he sold it. (my dad had bought me a car when my huisband moved out, a NICE car that he charged on his credit card.) So, when I got home , with no car, a new baby, and no job (I was let go during my pregnancy due to complications) my parents cut me off emotionally, financially, in every way.... my husband loves it.... I am at home, unable to afford daycare so I could even find a job, no car, he comes and goes as he pleases. I am needing donations for a cheap car. Or if any of you live around oklahoma and have a really cheap car for sale that you could work out payments with me I would be so grateful. I actually have a loving family that is normally really supportive, but they are tired of this story with me and him. And I can;t blame them.... Thank you to all of you that help me throw his sorry ass to the curb.

May God bless you all !

Much Love

Keri

I'm too ashamed to put my name on here.  Have been seeking work for over a year now and only managed to find a brief job that lasted only 2 months.  In two weeks, I'll be totally broke.  I've never had a problem finding a job before and this is driving me nuts.  The retirement income I worked so hard to build up is all gone now.  My family is unable to help, due to their own financial constraints.

I've never had to ask for help before so this is incredibly difficult for me.  I would rather have a job than a handout, so I hope there is an employer in my area who will read this and ask for my resume.

Can You Please Help a Nurse in Need?

This is the first time I’ve every done something like this and it is difficult so please bear with me. I am Kelly and I am a Registered Nurse. I've spent many years having the opportunity to do what I love, helping others in need. I have been the caregiver and advocate for others who are suffering from illness or injury and also a liaison for family members who are caught in the painful, sometime powerless feeling of watching their loved ones go through illness or injury.

Now I find myself in the position of needing help. I was injured at work, but I am told it will be months until I receive any help financially. I have lost just about everything, except my home. And I am terrified I will loose that too. As a nurse I have faced emergencies with skill and professionalism, but I’m afraid I’ve hit a problem I am not able to fix. As difficult as it is for me to ask for help, I would imagine it is also difficult for someone to offer help to a virtual stranger, so let me give you a bit of insight into who I am.

I accepted the position as Director of Nursing at my current job. This facility's pay is very low with no health insurance or other health benefits, no sick time, vacation or holiday pay. This facility also had a reputation of doing very badly during state visits and has an administrator who is known for treating her staff poorly and letting the people in her care do without even some of the most basic of needs.

I had my work cut out for me. But I did not take the job because it would be easy. I took the job because I saw a need for my skills and expertise and I knew I could make a difference in the lives of the patients and the staff. I firmly believe that everyone, regardless of their financial or social status, deserve the best care available. And with the help of other dedicated staff members, I was able to create an environment that was focused on the well-being of those under my care. The patients and staff now had someone who was not afraid to speak up for them. Someone who put the patient's needs above all else and set the standard for other health care professionals in the facility. Having State Survey cite no deficiencies (the first time in over 10 years) was an added bonus. But the best indicator that I was doing my job was on the faces of those in my care. It wasn't uncommon for me to clock out at three but not leave until four. As I would make my way toward the door, patients would stop me and want to talk to me, share stories with me or just want to exchange pleasantries as I left and make sure I was coming back 'tomorrow'.

In my private life, I purchased a major fixer-upper. But it was love at first sight! By doing the renovations ourselves, we have saved thousands I’m sure and it also helps that we have been lucky enough to find things others don’t want and use it for this task. Even though this project has had to come to a halt since I’ve been injured, I know that the rest of the ceilings will be put up, we’ll be able to paint the drywall and have a tub to use down the road.

But in the meanwhile, I am in what seems to be a hurt at work nightmare as my boss and the insurance company refuse to get me the medical treatment I so desperately need and agree to give me temporary total disability. I am so lost, scarred and in so much pain. My hope is that there are people out there who would be willing to help me financially or by any other means available. My mortgage is $296 per month (one advantage of getting such a fixer-upper). And since we have been cutting back on bills, my bills are about $150 per month. Any help at all would be so appreciated. I could even make arrangements to pay back a loan if someone is willing to help in that way.

I have heard that adversity can bring out the best in people. I believe that with my whole heart. I’ve been privileged enough to see it during my career. Finding this website has really opened some doors for me and it is my deepest desire that once I am back on my feet again, that I return the favor by helping others in need.

Thank you so much for reading my story.
