i'm not gonna lie... i need some help.  but i don't intend to be like this forever.  i very responsible, and very giving, i just had a set-back (robbery).  there were times where i felt like giving up, but i survived it, and although i'm not out of the dark yet, i feel i've passed the hardest part.

i'm still living paycheck to paycheck (which is bad, cause there is no paycheck coming this month... it's off season for me), but at least i have an apartment.  no bed yet... but i don't care.  sleeping on a pile of blankets is the most comfy thing in the world after going 7 months of being afraid to sleep at all out of fear because you were in an unsafe place.

i want to let people know: if you have a place to live, nothing can be that bad.  so you can't afford to buy your spouse a gift... make them one.  so your car breaks down... ride a bike, take the bus, carpool.  so you're stuck eating raumen noodles... get creative inventing soups!  all i'm saying is nothing NOTHING can compair to the feeling of safty.  it took me a long time to realize this... and losing everything i had.  now... i don't have anything exciting (no tv, no stereo, no fancy clothes, no jewelry, no bed, no car) but i am so happy to have a place where i can lock the door.  where i know i'm safe.  don't worry so much about what you put in it... just keep your family and yourself safe.

Hello. My name is Mandi. Like a lot of low income families in portland, I am a single mother to a beautiful boy named Chevy James or CJ. We are struggling now to make endsmeet. I need some help. Not a large some of money but something to help us get rent this month and a payment to the phone company so it doesnt get shut off. I made most of it up on my own for rent. I am in need desperately for 100.00 towards rent and 70.00 towards the phone bills. $ 170.00  Here is why: My apt complex's new owner is trying to get rid of all the older residents like myself especially since I am on unemployment and struggle to make rent on time for my son and I. I pay 525.00 for rent, my unemployment is 552.00 but that's hard to do when you have a little boy who eats more then foodcard gives anymore and also diapers and everyday expenses you encounter with a toddler. My apt is moldy since i moved in, i have been told of a new unit twice and they have been given away. I have one available next month so it is urgent that i make my rent this month, get into a healthy apt in the unit across from mine and my son will get better since getting pneumonia during this last month. It has held my work search up because he was sent to the ER two nights and then had problems with various antibiotics so its been hard to get arround to much of anything this month as far as work goes.  Please I urge you I dont need much and I will even settle for 100.00 for rent if it comes down to it. Just please god please help us get out of this hellish place and on the road to self suffeciency. I am almost there but my local services are not available due to so many people out there who can wait at four a.m. to get rent assistance. I cant do that not with a one year old. :*( I also cant wait around hoping i win a lottery for rent assistance either. I call human solutions everymonth. I am a responsible caring mom, I have items to sell or trade JBL car amp, baby items/toys he's outgrown, Piaa fog light systems, dvds, pretty prom dresses in perfect condition or use towards donations if I am awarded my AIDE requested amount.

Hi, I am a volunteer fireman  and I am a millworker on layoff do to the economy i am married and have 2 daughters my wife is employed also, but the layoff has put us in bad financial debt. our power and gas bills are are in a disconnect stat. and christmas is right here....... if we could get a personal loan to get us by and pay off most of our dept we would gladly pay a payment back to you... We ar interested in funding for 17 acres in rural area. We would like to put a campground of yurts on the property. Protecting the forrest and wildlife is of importance while giving the public an opportunity to experience nature at it's finest.  

My husband and I have been trying to get a first time home buyers loan but we need to pay off are charge offs first. We where going to buy the home we were renting went throught all the paper work but the landlord was not going to sign untill we paid for the aprazal. So we set a day to get that done on r money. 15 days before we had gotten a 30day no caues eviction she wanted the house sold no matter what. so all 30 days go by still she would not sign. Inlaws have come to visit and the aprazer will be here at noon. two hours before the aprazer shows up I have the money in hand and i see a sharif pull in? then a nother and a nother? then I see the landlord , shariff comes up to me "you have 5 min to leave. "what, we are buying this house we already went to a morgage company" my husband was at work and I was home with the kids and the inlaws. so I asked the landlord what was going on. she had gotten a better offer on the home. why couldent she tell us this so we could have uped are offer or moved out. now we have an eviction on are credit so we cant rent anywhere. we are in my mothers house we sleep on the floor in the living room. the ather bad thing was we had animals on the land to. we moved the ponies up the street to a nabor. nice big place stalls arena lots of pasture no other animals. so I thought "one good thing came out of all this bad". so we were going to rent that place for the kids ponys so they dont lose everything. well almost a month down the road still have no where to live the guy with the barn calls us out to his place. He ran a credit check. we have to move the ponies. so we have no where to go and no where to move the ponies to. I have applied for everything. and most places want a credit card to even help us. for years I have had nothing but bad luck. can somone please help turn my luck around. we found a house with land but we need a home loan anything. the house in for 200000 we have old bills that have run are credit down we can get a loan if we pay off the 10000 in chargeoffs. please send me somone who can lend me the money to save are family.  momincorvallis@yahoo.com

I am a College Student and transferd to Online College Associates Degree program.   I am in need of any Grant money help to help with my bills and college . Struggling with living expenses.  Please Help.

So, I am not feeling well when I do work and I get hungry on the job.   I cannot afford the gas to drive.  Emergency amount needed  Transportation Repairs 3,000 aprox guess. of used vehicle not mine.  And whatever you would like to help me and my teenage son out. Is there any real help in the way of grants for individuals outhere? I have read far too many posts, and no one seems to have received anything.....we are surely living in a terrible time.........

 i am a man with a beautiful piece of property that i inherited. i also inherited quite a bit of debt. i have a fair amount of land (forty acres)and will do just about anything to keep it. i have gorgeous views of both mountains and ocean and would love for land to pay for itself. i am willing to take it in just about any direction in order to keep it in family. i am open to any suggestions or help anyone would like to offer.

I am looking for assistance on applying for grants. I am a mentally disabled mother of two. I cannot return to my previous type of employment. I have started an online store of handmade items such as jewelry, knitted accessories, and bath & body products. I would like to open a retail store. Also, due to my medical condition, I have many outstanding medical and other bills that I am unable to pay since my social security barely covers my rent and food. My boyfriend and I have been together almost 7 years. We are both responsible and work full time sans health insurance. A couple of years ago I found out that I had a cancerous tumour and had to have 3 surgeries back to back to remove the mass. This threw us for a loop both emotionally and financially. Luckily I qualified to have a percentage of the costs taken care of by the hospital where I was treated due to our situation. The fees were still signifigant, but a fraction of what they would have been if I had not recieved any aid whatsoever. We are still paying the remainder off. Regardless, I feel lucky to be alive and grateful I did not have to file bankruptcy.

The reason I am writing this is not because of my cancer bills however, it is because my boyfriend desperatley needs some extensive dental work and we are unable to squeeze the cost out of our already incredibly tight budget. His teeth were getting really bad again prior to my surgery even though we had just had them reconstructed to the best of his dentists ability less than two years before. He has taken care of his teeth, but has a genetic predisposition for weak enamel. His father had dentures before he turned 30 and unfortunatley it looks like he is in the same boat. I am tired of watching him suffer just because we have no insurance and currently cannot afford it. I have resorted to selling the last few things I have left of value in order to raise money for his dental procedures. I have a gorgeous antique Decker Bros piano if anyone is interested. I am also going to be auctioning off some things on ebay as well and will post a link here when I get them up.

We are both the type of people who normally take pride in the fact that we are self reliant. The estimate on his uppers was roughly $3000 dollars. I would never expect anyone out there to just give us this kind of money outright. What I am asking is for possible leads to affordable dentists and perhaps to find someone who may be interested in the piano. This would at least give us a head start on getting this taken care of. If you feel compelled to make a donation of any amount we would be beyond greatful. Also, if you would like to commission a drawing or a painting I would be happy to do that as well. We don't live an extravagant lifestyle by any means. We work hard and neither of us has had a vacation in over 3 years (Unless you count the 3 months I was out of work recovering from surgery a "vacation" LOL) Our families are unable to help us financially. My mother is disabled and his father is struggling to support his family. We are in this together.

I have put this in a Blog, however, it is tucked away, and I have only had a few people comment on it- telling me to keep my head up- and not let the big corporate, profiting gluttons get to me- just to keep on going with my dream!  And, that is what I am doing-  I just need a grant writer to help me to get a grant!  I have faith that my ideas will make it to the marketplace with the consumer saying,"wow, this is sweet."  If you can help in any way- I would appreciate it- I am currently working on getting provisional patents from legalzoom.com- I am homebound, and this is very difficult with no funds, but I will continue to persevere-

My World is sometimes complicated and complex- Ironically, what an invention Co. said to me about my (2) two inventions. I sent them to another Co. and they said that one of my ideas had went to N.Y. and was to be evaluated by a group of engineers. A couple weeks go by and I received a call from Kurt Nelson who works for Davison who has been sued for misrepresentation (26-28) million. I was asked to provide more patent art with greater detail, and any ideas that I could come up with also. I did not give them (1) RED cent, nor did I give them any more patent art or explanations on how all parts integrated in a complete working order. I googled this idea and I was jaw dropped when I read 99.9% of this idea said what I had written earlier to Davison and Inventors Helpline- might as well add them. I believe that my ideas were sold- Not to long ago, I was watching the news at 6am and there was a story about an invention(idea) that Bill Gates (Microsoft) TM was doing. Well, as every one probably knows, it is Virtual Tour and they had, at the time, mapped 17 states thus far. I couldn't believe that Mr. Gates had somehow, got his hands on another idea that I submitted to these phony, rip-off infomercials years earlier! I do have a fax that I first submitted to Davison about my ideas- so maybe that will help. If anyone reads this and knows any suggestions about going after Davison, as they are already known schemers (bad Karma) profitering gluttons-  After all, Mr. Gates does not need his bottom line padded more, especially at someone else's expense. I Emailed Gates, but have yet to receive a reply. He gets 4 million Emails approx: every day, and Microsoft employee's sift through his mail and decide what goes into his in-box.

     Anyway, I have many other ideas and I am getting ready to send them- one(1) or two(2) to my engineer and get a provisional patent etc. I almost got a Domain name concerning this and I will just leave it at that.  I will talk with you more after I send my invention ideas and patent art to my engineer. Hello, my name is Rena and I've come to a point in my life where it's time I put my pride aside and ask for help. I am 37 years old and a single mom to and 18 year old son and a 12 year old daughter. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia which is a chronic pain condition. I have good days and bad days. I work the graveyard position full time and make $9.00 and hour. I pay $432.00 a month for me and my daughter to have medical insurance. I am owed over $14,000 in back child support and get absolutely no help from my daughter's dad. This is making life very difficult for us. I can barely put food on the table, pay the bills and keep up with rent. I have currently lost my drivers license due to not being able to pay the ticket fast enough. I've gone to all these sites for government aid but then in order to apply in seems you have to send them money for a CD. If I had the money to buy the cd I wouldn't need to ask for aid. I know the fee is only $2.00 but when you don't have a credit card or a checking account how do you go about even trying to apply. If there is someone who can give me some advice on how to go about this I would love to hear from you. i recently (about 4 1/2 months ago) got back on my feet after a devistating set-back.  i worked for the past 6 years to start my own company.  i was doing really well last year, but it all came to a stop when i got jumped, stabbed and robbed of my work equipment by some drug addicts.  i was homeless for 7 months afterwards, because my landlord decided to sell my house, and i had nowhere to go and i couldn't work after the attack.  i have a degree in a field that is very hard to find work in, so without my editing gear, i wasn't able to find a job for a long time.  i found a short term job, and got enough money together to get an apartment, and get back on track.  that job ended, and i've been trying my hardest to find a job till this one starts up again (it'll start in Jan), but have had no luck. 

long story short, this month i'm $345 short on my rent.  on the 15th, if i don't pay, i'm back to being homeless, and i'm scared, cause last time i almost didn't survive it.  i don't have any friends or family that can help me (my only friend is poor, and my only family is my gramps, who i take care of), so i really can't turn to anyone.  if anyone can help me out, i'm really scared, and i don't know what to do.  i've sold everything i can, and i don't waste my money on anything unessisary (i don't even buy stuff i need, like a pair of shoes with no holes in them)... i'm responsible, i just can't recover from such a huge set-back without help.

I am posting this asking for any help or resources for my best friend. She is an amazing proud 24 year old single mother of a 3 year old daughter. She is divorced from the father of the daughter who was extremely abusive. He is an Iraq veteran and now a jobless drug addict. He pays no child support and is living in his parent’s basement. While visiting her dad the little girl was sexually abused (by her uncle) recently according to child protective services and due to her young age there is not solid enough evidence to charge anyone with a crime. Her mother who is a 2nd year full time college student has had to move back into a small room in her parent’s house with her daughter. She is at risk of having to drop out of school due to her overwhelming debt accrued during the divorce by her dead beat ex. She had to run up credit card bills to buy formula and diapers for the baby.

She is in a debt repayment program already and paying 250 dollars a month to pay off around 9,000 in credit card debt. She also has a 188 dollar a month car payment on a car that she needs to be able to get herself to school and her daughter to daycare. Her daughter is enrolled in a head start school program for at risk youth that allows mom to go to school during the day. She does not qualify for welfare because she would have to work full time. If she worked full time she would have to drop out of school and then start paying off yet another monthly bill of student loans that would be of no value as she does not have a degree yet. Her daughter would then also not qualify for daycare and she would end up having to pay full price for it.

Her parents are poor and unwilling to help and want her out of the house soon. She thought about selling her car so that she could save money but she would not be able to commute from where she is to school and daycare and the value of the car is only about half the total left to pay it off.

If she files for bankruptcy I think she will lose the car that she needs. If she works she would have to pay for daycare as family will not watch the child and the cost of daycare I think is too high. She is also very worried about the negative impact her parents are having on her mother/daughter relationship as anytime she tries to discipline her daughter her mother undermines her authority. Her mother also fills the grandchild up on sugar and lets the kid stay up until midnight. This makes it impossible for my friend to get her homework done as her mo0ther yells at her to take care of her daughter, but then gets mad when she makes her go to bed. My friend’s mother is an extremely conservative woman who feels that going to school is the wrong thing and that she should drop out of college because it is not the right thing for a woman to do. She is trying to sabotage her daughters fight to succeed as a single mother.

My friend has two cavities, and needs glasses and does not have any medical insurance. She found out that she may even be getting a bill for 1000 dollars for bringing her daughter to the emergency room in regards to the sexual molestation by the uncle.

My best friend has had a very hard life, father left mom at the age of 10 for another man, molested by people her whole childhood, and first raped at age 14 and repeatedly over her teen years. She is worried about her daughter falling into the same horrible problems. I am trying to find sources of help for her so that she can succeed in providing a better life for her daughter than she had. I myself am helping as much as I can, which is not much being a student myself. She is a very determined woman going to school majoring in sociology so that she can get a job making a difference in those less fortunate. It is extremely hard for her to ask for help, so I am for her.

Hi I just posted a request for help. I am 9 months pregnant due 10/01/07 and I have a 18 month old son. I had my gas shut off today because I didnt make the full payment they requested. I also have shut off notices for my electric & water as well. I owe 299.00 for my water, 315.00 for my electric & 225.00 to have my gas turned back on. I was working full time until July 07 but pulled a muscle in my stomach & was forced to quit. I was denied state disability because I have only been living in Oregon since February 07. If anyone can help me or show me where to get assistance I would really appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

My name is Geri and I am a 64 year old widow who is in desperate need of some temporary financial help.  Everything that I own is in storage in Southern California because I made a terrible mistake.  I moved to Brookings, Oregon thinking that it would be a great place to live and go back to work.  You are probably asking where I moved from and why I came to Brookings.  Well it is like this.  After my mother passed away at the age of 96 I decided to leave Southern California for a number of reasons.  One being that I didn't like the town she lived in and never had.  Second I had thought that I would move back to San Jose, CA.  I actually went to San Jose but unfortunately there were no jobs and housing was not within my budget. So I came to Brookings because a friend told me what a nice place it was to live and that there were lots of jobs.  It is a nice place to live but there are no jobs.  At the moment I need some money for rent fast.  I have tried everything I think of to raise the rent money.  Including friends and relatives.  They don't have it. If you can help me it would be greatly appreciated.  I am on food stamps, the state is paying my electric bill, the state is also paying $13.50 on my basic phone bill.  Any amount will be of great help.
