After having lived in Europe for 31 years, 10 in Milan, Italy & 21 in Heppenheim, Germany, I returned to the U.S at the end of 2004. I have a M.S. in mathematics from the university of Illinois. Professionally I've been a systems software developer for 42 years. Having difficulty finding a job -- from my point of view, because most of my experience has been on IBM mainframes, making me somewhat of a dinosaur -- & from the market's point of view because I'm  euphemistically "overqualified," I would like to go to an online university to get a degree in accounting, most likely aqn MBA, but since my total income is the pittance I receive as SSDI, "Yes, Virginia, I'm disabled," I'm not able to afford the rather hefty tuition from most of these places & I'm loathe to encumber myself with a student loan, because there being no guarantees, I might not find a job post-degree, but I'd still have to repay the loan from the aforementioned pittance which barely keeps pace with inflation. So, I'd like to find a scholarship, a fellowship or some kind of grant to allow me to attend an online university. In the meantime, I've found a great job developing mainframe system software for Compuware in Cambridge, MA, starting 7/17/06. I'll be leaving here in FL to drive there on 7/9/06. I'll be back to update my info once I'm settled.

Hello, I'm 79 year old retiree from Florida. I currently live on my government SS Check which isn't enough to survive on. I am 64 years old. Had to take early retirement because of health problems. I am writing a true crime book about the murder of my daughter in law and about the trial for the two young people who murdered her. I am not sure where to start, My real name is Joyce and I see no need for a (Nick Name) I am 69 years of age and retired and on SS. My husband is 59 and works full time but we just do not make enough to keep the wolf away from the door. I don't like asking for help but see no other way, I (we) owe close to 300,000 on our mortgage plus all our other month to month bills. My husband makes a (little) extra income from his hobby of woodworking he makes many beautiful things such as lathe turned pens, cook book stands, bird houses and carvings of fish and animals and other small projects but the market for such works of art around Charlottesville is not that abundent and people always want him to sell at a lower price. If he could get enough orders for what he makes we could manage without asking for help. I am always worried about how we are to manage I have almost exausted what little I had in my IRA.     Hello, my name is Mike and my dad recently was diagnosed with cancer of the jaw and tounge which also went into his limph node. He was operated on in April 5 2007 and was in intensive care after a 12 hour opeation, which took much of his jaw tissue and also part of the tounge. The ENT had to remove tissue from his rt. breast to help fill the void in his jaw and neck. The operation has left him with no feeling and very little movement of his tounge. He can only swallow small amounts of liquid. I have to feed him trough a Peg tube that is inserted into his stomach through a hole just above his belly button. Since the operation, we have had 34 radiation treatments and are going to do chemo. My question is, we need help with medical bills which are coming from every direction.  He is only 64 son he does not qualify for Medicare.  If anyone can or would like to help, please e-mail me at mikie203@cox.net . He has always been a proud man, but now he is having to depend soley on me.  He will be 65 in Nov. so we will be able to get medicare help but that will only help with bills that we have after Medicare starts. I will be 73 years old in April, a retired computer (mainframe) programmer, and I'm trying to live on social security.  I depleted my IRA three years ago and have been struggling ever since.  I guess I'm a borderline poverty case; too poor to get along without help of some kind, but not poor enough to be a charity case.  It has simply come down to the fact that my monthly social security check falls short of covering my monthly bills.   Because of that fact, I had to declare bankruptcy, last year, and am now a bad credit risk.  Fortunately (maybe unfortunately) I retained a credit card which is still active and one which I can use in an emergency.  I'm receiving a little bit of aid from Medicaid which pays my Medicare premium.  However, my supplement is costing a lot.

My big problem, at the moment, is that the house I am presently renting is shortly going to be reclaimed by the owners who want to move back into it; therefore, I am going to have to move.  I can't afford the cost-of-living in this area, and I am trying to do research on areas that I might be able to afford to live.  I am in excellent health for a woman my age, but I'm afraid of what the future holds for me.  Is there anyone out there who can give me some advice?

After posting my first ad on this site I have had many people contact me trying to give me a loan.But I have lost more money doing that. Each person wanted me to send them money in order to acquire a loan. So please be advised of these people offering to help in getting a loan. They are scam artists as well. I am not able to pay my electric and it will be turned off soon as well as my car payments are two months behind. I am a single mother and a victim of an internet scam (now three times) and I need help so badly. Please respond if you are honest and can really help me out.

I am a 60 year old who is in jeopardy of losing my home.  I got behind when I retired from working in January 2007 at 60 due to health problems and am too young to draw social security benefits.  I am ten payment behind and face foreclosure on April 20, 2007, if I do not get some help.  Is there anyone out there that has some answers for me.  I am scared and depressed that I will not have a place to live.

My Grandmother is a very good Lady, &  She needs  help  to buy a home before she becomes homeless.

Her rent keeps going up so high that she cannot afford to pay it any longer, she cannot work because she has back problems & leg problems.  She gets a small monthly check that does not stretch far enough, She has always worked & paid her own bills, instead of taking hand outs  she has always given hand outs.  She is a proud Lady and will not even take Food Stamps, or any charities.  She has always sent money  to the St. Jude  Childrens Hospital, but none she has none to give.

For 20 years of buying lottery tickets, her dream has been to buy a home with a yard for her Grandchildren to play in, and to never have to move again. These dreams have faded with the passing of time.Now she cannot even afford to buy one lottery ticket. With no money in savings,and only a small monthly check, nobody in their right mind  would give her a mortgage.

Grandmother is getting depressed  with life, and she says that she can no longer afford it. I pray everyday that God will help her with a Miracle !  I know there are good people in this world because my Grandmother is one of them.    Times here are difficult.  My wife died 2 1/2 years ago and along with it went over one half of our income.  So I cut back on most things.  I am about to loose my home unless I can come up with $6000 dollars to pay the back taxes on it and last Friday I got bad news of the death of my oldest son in North Carolina.  He was in the Marines.  Now I have to find a way to bury him.  Help is really need in these times of need.  I am on disability and have my youngest daughter living with me.  She is handicaped and unable to work a full work week.  So if anyone that could would help I would be forever indebeted to you
