Hi:

I have a special needs son who is attending a school for severe learning disabled children.  My son is profoundly dyslexic, verbally dyspraxic,  OCD,  Asperger's Syndrome and profoundly gifted.   The school he attends is paid for by the school district through the Individuals with Disablities Educational Act.  I have been advocating for my son for 12  years.  I have fought for services,  including speech and occupational therapy, reading help, extended school year services and you name it.  Finally 2 yearw he was accepted into a school for kids with profound dyslexia and other disablities.   I grabbed the golden ring for my son!   If i leave this school district i risk loosing the education that my son needs.  This would be absolutely devasting to him and to me.  Here is the link for my son's school:   www.rsec.org

This past spring we went thru a horrible and financially devasting divorce.   My ex -husband is loosing his job and i will loose some or most of my child support.  I am also self employed, and working a second job.

My problem is, is that can not afford the property taxes  and the heating bills on this house.

There is now a lein on my house for $15000 in taxes-that is a year and a half beleive it or not!  I may have to sell and loose his education and my self-employment.  It kills me to know that my son is at risk to loose  the long awaited education he so sorely needs  over property taxes.   There is no guarantee that  if  forced to move he will be able to receive this education or that i would live close enough to this  school for the profoundly learning disabled.   I can't refinance this house due to my credit scores due to the divorce and how the first mortgage is written.

I have had many  expensive repairs on this house the past  2 years, my 7 yr old  ford explorer died,  i had to use the $6000 in my retirement account to buy a new car, a 95 tahoe.. a real gas guzzler but all i could afford. I get no fuel  assistance, have no health insurance,  and do not qualify for food stamps.   I have no money to get my high blood pressure meds and meds for anxiety and depression.  I have taken on a roommate but which helps but I filed   bankruptcy because i don't know where else to turn.  It kills me to do it because i want to be responsible for my debts, but there is nothing left at the end of the month to cover it.   During the course of my  25 year marriage I was fortunate to be the giver of such gifts.... at the holidays to needy organizations , to animal shelters,  the salvation army, i took in exchange students to teach them about our country, voluneteered at my son's school and more.  Now, i need to be at the receiving end of such generosity.  Please help us.

Please open your heart and your financial abilities to ensure that my son gets to fulfill profound gifted abilities by learning to read.  I am scared and very frightened that my son, my gift from God, will loose his one big chance to become literate.  He is in 7th grade, 12 yrs old,   has an IQ of 140+ and reads at a first grade level.

What ever you could donate is deeply and  gratefully appreciated.   I won't even ask you to provide he money directly to me.  If you are able and willing to help us, make a check out to our town .  You will be blessed for your kindness.  My son will be blessed by you.

I live in Brookline NH and a donation or payment in my name can be made to the Town of Brookline,  Brookline, NH   03033

Sincerely and Gratefully,

Mary Harding-Smith

Help our Family so we may Help Others

 Hello,

Some time ago we committed to deciding to help out families who are in need of financial assistance due to mortgage troubles by using Prosper as a tool.  Unfortunately, before we can begin to help others by lending to them through Prosper.com, we need a little help ourselves -- temporary help, for the months of May and June.  Our situation is as follows: We have a 2 & 1/2 year old son and want him to be happy.  We want to keep our home.  I became unemployed about a year ago and my wife remained working, but during this time we always paid our mortgage on time.  We wanted to hold on to our home.

We can accept money through Paypal to the address of:  pcvcolin@yahoo.com

The situation became dire when my retirement account and credit cards were depleted; fortunately, at that point, I was offered a job.  Now both me and my wife are working again, both of us with good-paying government jobs (steady income).  With the new income, the mortgage lending company, Citicorp, did allow us to go for a modification to our loan, and while they did review our pay stubs, they gave us a new monthly payment that was so high that there will be no way for us to pay it.  Additionally, Citicorp demanded payment on the 11th of this month instead of waiting to the end of the month and threatened foreclosure (an senseless and mean threat, particularly since they agreed to defer payments for the last couple months and since they agreed to approve my modification; their threat is especially mean-spirited considering I paid them on time for the year when I was unemployed, using my retirement account money).

So, we have realized we will have to leave Citicorp and refinance.  Unfortunately the threat of foreclosure means that we have to pay them on the 11th.  While we have the money to do this we do not have the money for other things, like food, gasoline, and bills.  We ask for your help in whatever you can contribute to get us through the months of May and June; by the end of May we expect to be completely out of Citicorp and refinanced into a better loan, and by the end of June we will have recovered from this debacle.

After June we will begin to set aside money to lend to people through Prosper.com who have had mortgage troubles and who cannot get loans through ordinary lending institutions.  Help us position ourselves to help other people ~ please consider making a small contribution today.

You can see my credit details, photos, and a lender discussion of the Prosper.com that I myself received that helped me a few months ago to save my home when Citicorp first began to threaten our family.   See these details by linking to:  https://www.prosper.com/lend/listing.aspx?listingID=102009

Hello my name is Micki. Iam a single mother of two beautiful little boys, Braxton 8 yrs old & Aiden 3yrs old. A little over two yrs ago my son moved to NY with his father. I have court ordered visitation in the summer and on holidays. His father is going against the order and wont let my son come home. He hasn't been home in a year. This is killing us. Im under so much presure because my son made me promis that his little brother and I would move to Long sland N.Y. as soon as we could .There are no words to tell you what this has been like for my family, my three yr old starves himself for wks at a time when his brother left, and each time after he visits the same, and thats just the begaining of what we go through. It's been two yrs and we are no closer to moveing. I don't have the funds to move , don't know how to find a three bedroom home for my children and I there , not to mention finding a job there that will afford us to live. I can not afford legal councel at all, so I am unable to file comtemt charges against his father..... My son has some special needs, he has "CAPD" hearing difficulty, and "ADHD", also has an inoppreible "aracnoid cyst", in his brain that was descovered right befor he left to live with his father. I know nothing about my sons medical wellbeing now that he is there , I know nothing about his education now that he's there, and it was ordered that his father provide me with that info. His father never met "his" son untill he was almost three, and that was because we went to NY to make him meet him. ONLY after that did he imedietly file for custody of my son .We fought for over two yrs. untill I ran out of money, Im still paying that off. Please befor you assume I wasn't proven "unfit" , that law doesn't apply to Oklahoma. Just "best interest" = IE", who has more money. What I need is help someway to get there, (N.Y.) money, job, home. ASAP". Thank you for anything you can do. I'm not looking for a hand out, not looking for a new life , my sons needs me and we need him. What has happend is wrong and I can't let this go on till he is 18 . I will do anything to get back in my little boys life. If there is any thing I can do for you in return please don't hesitate to ask. P.S. I miss him so very much.....please, please help us!!!

I am a mother of a 2 year old son.  My husband and I try very hard to make a home for our family.  He lost his job the day after Christmas and has had trouble finding another one.  I have picked up some contract work, and am now working two contract jobs in addition to my full time job.  I was diagnosed 2 years go with multiple sclerosis, so the extra work is not an easy task.

Anyway, we got behind one month on our house payment and have been unable to catch up.  Our bank is demanding two months (the behind month plus this month) payment within 48 hours.  I don't have it and don't know what to do.

I am 19 years old and can't seem to get my head up out of the water. I have a 3 month old son that is my everything that I would do anything and everything for. I have been living on my own for 2 1/2 years now, well technically not on my own... I have always depended on someone because I can't seem to do it on my own and it just seems to make matters worse.

Licenced to conduct business as a real estate agent throughout the state of Texas, I am a member of the National Association of Realtors and as such am entitled to term myself as "REALTOR®". Unfortunately the Subprime Market Has justed exploded with Foreclosures and our major subprime lenders CIT and greenwhich are filing bankruptcy.  You have to have a 1000 FICO score to have a subprime lender qualify your clients now.  Making life a little more dramatic in the Real Estate World.

I am a Single mother of a beautiful 12 year old daughter and 15 year old handsome son.  I am sure they think their mother is a strong individual but lately I am wondering what they are thinking when I avoid the normal daily purchases, such as toilet paper,.. use the shower!...I am struggling with telling them that things might be falling apart.

Feeling the strength of the movie "Fun with Dick and Jane" the movie seems to help me through the day. When I remember how Dick lost his mind and stole the yard pieces to make one moment of happiness for his beautiful wife.  Then I realize I don't have a DICK!

Wanting to know where my self confidence is with the economy and living with in the means of frugality has no bearing on what is really happening...the loss of the farm!

Looking around the bear house for something to sell / pawn or hock (without the little ones noticing the house looking more streamlined) all I have are the rocks outside and maybe a pile of pecans that have fallen from the trees and left by the squirrels.  I wonder What is road base going for these days?

How PayPal stole Christmas

Not bad enough the company I worked for, for 10 years downsized, and I was laid off. So while looking for employment, thought I'd EBay my belongings that were in good shape.

Had both my EBay and PayPal accounts for over 3 years. Granted very little activity. Mainly buying off Ebay. 100% positive on Ebay and no complaints, no disputes on PayPal.

Things were going good for a few months. Selling mainly little $3-$5 items, but it at least helped keep us above water. I would divide my day between job applications, resumes, interviews and listing on EBay. I was putting in over 10 hours a day between all that.

Started listing bigger/more expensive items, as I learned the Ebay ways (what seemed to work and what didn't). Had a couple of good sales. Was so releived that little more money was coming in.

I also had ordered the PayPal debit card when I started Ebaying. It was quick to arrive, and just used it to pay for small purchases (mainly at local drug store, quick trip to grocery). Nothing out of the ordinary.

Well, last Friday, I withdrew, from an ATM, a couple hundred dollars. Paid a few bills.

This past Monday evening I went to withdraw about $500.00 to do some Christmas shopping (all the while more money is being put into PayPal due to weekend sales). No can do. Frozen.

Suspious activity? Yeah, that's a good answer!! Because I finally start making money for them, they want to keep it, maybe??

Well, they have helped ruined my Christmas. I literally have no money for Christmas.

During that time, I've set up accounts with a few other places, but of course, being I'm new to them, I'll never get pay outs in time for shopping this weekend. Plus, so many consumers don't want to use other "pay" systems. So my sales have dropped drastically.

They have raked me over the coals, and thanks to them (I should had withdrew what money I had in there out on Friday, but thought all was well).

Can anyone direct me to a way to get mainly Christmas money? Still have a couple of bills due. Would hate to lose electric and water before Christmas.

Thanks

Asking once again for help

Hi. As you can see I've been around awhile and have asked for help a few times. I have gotten great leads to help me out from here, but no monetary help.

Well, I am asking again and have nowhere to turn.

I need help in 2 areas to get my over this hump. Somehow the money just didn't stretch far enough these last couple of months.

Need #1) My water bill again. It's late and due to be turned off by Friday the 1st or Monday the 4th at the latest. It's $71.00. I really need help, as I don't even have that at this time. I would love to get ahead on it, but just getting that paid would be a relief.

Need #2) Get my son signed up for a summer bowling league. He really loves bowling and did a Friday afternoon league for a few months. Well, now he wants to join the Saturday morning league. It cost $15.00 to register and $9.00 a week to bowl. I would like to get his fees taken care of for at least a month, and hopefully things I will be over this hump. So here I am looking at approx. $55.00. We can't afford to do much over the summer and I want him active in something good , so he doesn't get too bored over the summer. Registration and the 1st week is due Saturday the 2nd.

Is there anyone who can help me out? With both or even one thing would be awesome.

Thanks so much.

"Our only hope ls our children and olderfolk," Good God in heaven knows, the "powers that be" sure won't change their ways and help the backbone of america. Things went bad when we started moving Grandpa & Grandma out of the home into oldfolks homes. The kids lost precious teachings that are vital to life. The olderfolk lost their reason to be. All in the name of Bigger, better, faster and longer! We have a vast number of children lost in fostercare, on the street, and in broken homes. And with the great number of functioning olderfolk lets take some of the failing family farms and put them together? This is my idea. The children have not only lost the joys and lessons that Mom and Dad have no time to teach. But what is more, They don't learn how to be Human. Look around, We are in deep we must begin with our children so that when they are "The powers that be" they wil treat their familys with a bit more Humanness. One farm is all we need to start.   A. Hi, I am 34 years old, married with 2 wonderful children.  I have recently lost both my parents and am stuggling with some of my bills!! My husband and I are from different countries and he is uanble to work at the moment due to immigration regulations, so I am working 2 jobs to keep a roof over our heads and food in our bellies. I jut want to get rid of my debt without haveing to further into debt by taking a consolidation loan out.  Any little bit would help, so if you can find it in your heart to help out a family in need - it would be greatly appreciated.

We would like to move back to the US to be near my husbands family - but I do not have my green card - and I'm not the type of person to sit around and do nothing - I need to work, so if anyone knows how to help with the immigration process I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you in advance for any suggestions or help you may be able to provide!  Aslo, please do not try to scam me - I am in need of help - not more trouble!

Looking to buy a house

I'm a 30 year old single mother who is looking for a program that would allow me to buy a house with little money down and help with closing costs.  Also, programs that don't require you to have perfect credit.  I tried to go through this one program, but I was told I had to raise $5000.  I was half-way there when my parents got into financial trouble and almost lost their home.  I gave them most of what I had and am trying to build my savings back up which is hard on my small salary.  I am also in the process of looking for another job since my company will close in the next two months.  I would like to buy the house before I'm unemployed (possibly) at least I can rent out a room or two in my home.  I'm currently living with relatives where I have to share a room with my 10 year old son (not very comfortable as you can imagine).  If you know of any programs or where I can get the extra money, please let me know.  Thanks.

Water getting ready to get cut off, can't fund 10 year olds Washing trip

I havne't felt this low in such a long time. I guess since I was laid off from my job. I finally mananged to get a job, where I wouldn't have to rely on child care and still can see my son. I'm a single Mom and like to try to be wih him as much as I can when he's not at school. I would hate to see him bored roaming the streets looking for stuff to do.

My new job doesn't pay what the old one did, but I'm just glad to be working. But due to the layoff we fell so far behind in all bills. I'm slowly catching them up, and most places have been good with working with me, but some are getting a wee bit tired of it and I understand-they are businesses.

My water is due to be cut off next week.

My 10 year old old son, has a chance to go to Washington. He was so proud of himself. He's worked hard in all his elem. school years, making honor roll, being safety patrol, never in trouble at school, and now he won't see it come real (the trip). The 1st deposit is due next week, with another even larger deposit due a few weeks after that, and the remainder a few weeks after that. It breaks my heart to see him lose out on that chance, but I can't come up with that money right now. Heck, I can't even pay for the water bill.

I'm hoping maybe someone would consider helping us out with these 2 things. I know the water is the real priority when it comes to life, but the trip somehow means more important to me, because this could be a once in a life time chance for him.

Thanks for checking this out.

Single mom of 1 year old - Low income, Christmas Help needed.
I'm a 24 year old single mother of a 1 year old son.  I have been unemployed til now.  I just got my first job in a while (was unemployed at 4months pregnant due to high risk - then moved to a small town to be close to my own mother where there aren't many job opportunities).

My first pay checks are needed to pay off bills that are late and to get a car and car insurance so that I can get myself and son around as needed (work, grocery, doctors, to find a better job in the next town, etc).

That's going to put me in a hard spot when it comes to the holidays and christmas this year.  My son is only 1, so he won't really remember it when he's older I don't think, but pictures and my own personal memory says a lot and I don't want him to ask about christmas when he's older and me not have anything to show or say for it.

If anyone would be kind enough to let me know of any organizations that could help please send me a message at frazzledfaery@aol.com.  I know there's programs like shop with a cop, angel tree, etc...but I don't know how to get info on the nearest locations for those or how to add my son to the list.  Any help would be much appreciated.

am losing my home

I am a married woman with a 17 year old son.  My husband was injured on the job several years ago and was forced into retirement.  We have had several illness's and medical conditions to deal with this year.  We have tried everything to get caught up on our debts, but have been unable to.  My wages are now being guarnished.  I am losing over $400 per month.  We went through credit counseling and found out that our debt are $600 dollars more a month than our income.

I just totally give up

I'll be danged. Had the two presents, and the dang dog chewed them up.

I can't believe this. I can't stop crying and feel like an anxiety attack is coming on.

I "want" to ditch the dog, but won't...............hate all these stupid crazy thoughts going through my mind. Now here it is 2 days before and I can't do anything.

I don't have any accounts like PayPal that are usable to ask for help, all I have is Obopay. God, why did this year have to be so bad? Can next year be better please??

Can ANYONE help us, please? I do have the Obopay account.

I'll be willing to do a loan. I even looked online for a PayDay loan, but I've heard such horror stories about them, and I don't need another issue to deal with.

Please, someone tell me what I could do now??

SAVE MY SON FROM GOING TO THE MIDDLE EAST

Wow I have never done anything quite like this before BUT I guess you could say I am desperate. Heres the story...

I am 23 years old and have a 5 year old son by a 25 year old Jordanian-American. Recently he served me with court papers asking a judge to grant him a passport to take our son to Jordan, where he has been living. He is wealthy beyond belief and has told the court he will pay any money necessary, in the form of a bond, to get the passport for my son.

I am very low income and just trying to make it as a single mother while he manipulates the child support system and only has to pay 190.00/month which includes all of his arearages. So his plan is to get some big time lawyer and get the passport where ultimately he will not bring him back.

I have police reports and documented conversations of him threatening me for the last 5 years that he will take my son, "for me to never see ever again." So I need to prevent him from going at all.

I am afraid for my sons life and fear our family will become a statistic.

I am very low income and cant afford an attorney but desperately need one to SAVE MY SON. Honestly I dont even know if this is the place to be posting but I feel compelled to fight for my son and have faith in people that they will do unto others as they would have done to them.

I have been helpful all my life to family, friends and strangers and I know that will pay off NOW when I need it the most.

So if anyone can help, I need an attorney and I dont have any way to pay for him/her.

thanks
