i lived my life as a gypsy pretty much for the first part of my adult life . it was fantastic and i lived off my trade .

free. and broke , it really was great but now my younger bro. makes more than me and my sister is approaching the 9 "0" club and gosh darn it i will not have them set the legacy for my family.

i am a natural self starter i surprise myself on a daily on how much i can do in a single bus, day. i am happy and caring to a fault .

i like people and the environment in which i choose to live .

sometimes i i know more then i tell and test others which sometimes leads to sore egos mine too. i want to be who i am with out having to answer to anyone but my wife , my son, and of course my momma.

if anyone is finanacial secure enough to make our hopes and dreams realized ou wont regret it .

I am a single mother of 3. My kids dad left me high and dry. He was supposed to pay the bills while i attended school and decided to leave..thus leaving me with all the unpaid bills and the kids. I have tried to get a job, however i recently lost my car so i am unable to get to and from. I need to come up with at least $2500 to get my car back. i was almost done paying it off-i only owe $5500 left on it so i do not want to loose it. PLEASE, I have prayed and prayed for some type of help and i am at my wits end. I have not been able to pay my school tuition and my rent is past due along with my other utilites. My main concern is getting my car back at least to be able to get to and from school. plus school is about to start for my other 2kids and i dont have a way to get them back and forth. i also have a 10month old that i need to get to and from child care and i am in a MAJOR bind!! i would appreciate anything and everything anyone could help me with!!! Hi I am newly separated since June because of abuse and am trying to make it with the 5 children that still live at home although one of them is in college but still depends on me for assistance.  One is disabled and receives a small income.  I have a daughter who is going to graduate from HS this year and then my 2 youngest children, boys 15 & 12.  I have stayed home all these years and homeschooled so I am lost as to how to support myself even though I know I could.

Koenig Kares, Inc. (KKI) was incorporated on January 31, 2006 to give hope and empower-ment to teens and young adults who were formerly members of the state foster care system.  Through participation in programs such as the KKI-Transitional Living Program, young adults are offered shelter, guidance, educational direction, motivational direction, assistance in emotional and spiritual growth, and instruction on effective parenting skills – all designed to aid these young adults into transitioning smoothly and successfully into adult life; skills not obtaining while bouncing through the Foster Care Program.

KKI is a non-profit corporation with a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status.  Our vision is to enable young adults to transition into adulthood and learn how to feel confident about the decisions they make for themselves and their children.  The structure, guidance and education offered to these young adults during their participation in the program offers them a huge advantage over young adults who may be in similar situations and who have not had the benefit of participating in a transitional living program.

Our faith-based nonprofit organization will work with the Texas Foster Care system and the juvenile probation department – both of whom are responsible for moving these “kids” into the adult world.  Most of our participating young adults have “aged out” of the state program and as previously discussed, have a great deal of difficulty transitioning on to the next level of their lives.

Goals and Objectives

KKI has established the following goals and objectives for the purposes of helping program participants to successful transition into society as adults and achieve their potential.  Successful achievement of stated goals will empower program participants to make informed life choices, enabling them to live a successful and positive lifestyle.

Goal One: To teach young adults how to make informed decisions which will help them and their families.

Objective One:  KKI is dedicated to assisting young adults who are former members of the state foster care system to make informed life decisions which help them and their families.  These decisions may relate to education, housing, employment, childcare or any other number of societal concerns.  Through mandatory participation in life skills training and counseling programs, we anticipate approximately 75 program individuals annually will obtain the knowledge and understanding necessary which will enable the them to make intelligent life choices.

Goal Two: To empower young adults to transition into society as adults and achieve their full potential.

Objective Two:  KKI is dedicated to helping those who age out of the state foster care system to transition successfully into society, as well as helping these same young adults realize their dreams.  Whether these dreams relate to educational, employment or family goals, KKI can help these young adults define a path to their dreams and execute a plan of action which will help these young adults have the confidence to accomplish anything they desire in life.  Through mandatory participation in education programs, we anticipate approximately 75 program individuals annually will obtain the academic skills necessary which will enable participants to succeed in the workforce successfully.

Single parent trying to succeed....

I am a 35 year old single parent of a 13 year old boy and a 2 year old daughter. My world was turned upside down in 1999. My series of events began in September 1999 when my mother was diagnosed with sarcoidosis. This was a disease that I had never even heard of let alone knew how to pronounce. Upon further research and understanding the disease, I knew my mother and myself had a long road ahead. Unfortunately, my mother passed on December 1, 1999. I was faced with continuing life without a very significant force in my life. In spite of this, I pressed on. On February 20, 2000, I received a phonecall at work that my stepfather had passed as well, he was never the same after my mother's passing. He was only 35 years old. On March 29, 2000, the day after my mother's birthdate, I received yet another phonecall, my cousin, whom grew up with me like a sister, was involved in a car accident and she and her youngest son were airlifted to San Antonio. My cousin, passed on March 30, 2000 leaving behind 2 young sons. Through it all, I pressed on knowing that I had to continue for my son. I was trying to mask my pain for my son's sake as he was but 7 and did not understand. In January 2001 I received another phonecall, another cousin was shot in the head in front of his house, he lay bleeding to death as his young son watched. He passed in route to the hospital. Yet I pressed on. In 2004, I received news that I was expecting, a shock to me as I had given up hope in having anymore children, in March 2004, I lost that child and another in June 2004. Again, I pressed on. In September 2004, I received news that yet again, I was pregnant, my daughter was born healthy in May 2005. Thank you Lord! I went back to work from my delivery looking to get back on my feet financially as I was out of work without pay, 2 weeks from maternity leave, I find out that my company is laying everyone off. 11 years, what was I going to do. I received unemployment, went to school, learned a new trade and had to start all over again. I had to give up my 2-bedroom apartment, leaving my son to sleep in the living room, learn to live on a very limited budget and resort to living on government assistance. I at times feel as if I am treated as someone whom does not contribute to society. I have my bad days when I question why I continue, but those thoughts are quickly erased as I look into the eyes of my children. My writing this is not with the intent to depress anyone let alone have anyone give me any pity, quite the opposite, I know that many other people may have it worse but always know and believe in your heart that as long as you have your health, family and your faith, you are truly rich. I honestly wish that I did not have to live paycheck to paycheck or sell plasma to try and make ends meet, but I am thankful for the things that I do have. My intent is that perhaps my story will give someone hope. Do not ever be afraid to ask for help nor ever shy away from giving it. God Bless! :-)

The name is "Scumdog".  I am the lead guitarist for a band called "Sins of Past".  Unforunately we had thousands of dollars worth of equipment and instruments stolen.  And if you have ever been a musician you know how devestating this could be.  We are asking for any charitable donations you might be willing to give to help us get new equipment so we can get back out on the road.  Every little bit helps.  Thanks.

I am a recently seperated mother of one. For years I depended entirly on my spouse, now I have to depend on myself. I am trying to continue my education, and pay off some debts left to me by the marraige. I have tried to apply for government grants online. But if you are like me and explored every option, I was very naive, I got taken  for almost more than I tried to borrow. So now I'm at whits end, anyone know how to apply for grants, or how apply to the government directly. Any ideas, or options. I am a christian woman I know how to ask for help, everyone needs to sometime or another. If you have any helpful tips or ideas, or know of something that may have worked for you, please share.
In very much need ofhelp paying my bills....

I have posted on here before askingfor help so I could attend school full time to purse my Rn Degree.  Well I am currently takin classes online and it's going ok.  However, I am ssooo far behind on my bills... My son was put into the hospital for a week in August... Leavin me out of work and out the pay b/c I dont rcv any PTO or sick pay till I've been on the job 6mos' i was 2wks shy of completing 6mos when my son was put into the hospital I had to pay people to take care of my daughter evenings b/c I was at the hospital with my son.  I missed 1 wk of work and my children's father quit his job leaving me without child support..  We cannot make it on my income alone absolutely not... but without childsupport and my pay I am sssooo behind.  I cant pay my water bill, car insurance, cell phone or gas bill.  I also have a storage shed fee but that can wait.  I need anything you can spare.. I hate beggin or asking for help but no one I know can help me.  The last time I asked a favor of a person we thought was a GOOD CHRISTIAN MAN, family oriented do gooder.  He told me he would love to marry me and if I made a pass at him he would just melt and would just "MAKE IT" with me right there where we stood.  YUCK this man is 45+ yrs older than me and he has been around our family since I was about 10 yo I am now 29.  As you can see I really truly need help and will take whatever you can give me.  If you would prefer we can work out payments and I can pay you back in afew months once Iget over this "MOUNTAIN"  Please let me know..  ldonahoo3@aol.com

Two easy ways to do this:

  1. Add a comment or a question here - on this page... or on any other page in this space.
  2. Or, if you want to start a separate thread - make a new page.

Either way is good - the important thing is your participation. On Aidpage, people support each other by speaking out and by paying attention to each other - as simple as that.
