I am a family man in need of financial aid to go to back to school to better myself and my family.

Hanging on by a thread

The past month has hit my husband and I reaaly hard.  It seems that everything is going wrong and I don't know why.  First, my dog got sick and needed $450 of emergency care to save her life (first week of January).  Shortly thereafter, my husband lost his job.  I am a student trying to finish my degree to become a teacher.  While I do carry a part time job, I do not make enough to support the two of us.  Quiting school would mean giving up my dreams and I have worked so hard to achieve them.  But last week, we were in a car accident that totaled our only car.  Because we only could afford liability, the insurance is not going to cover our loss.  We are now stuck with a $8000 debt and no car.  Please, I don't know what to do.  Someone please help us.

knowing in life that kindness will be rewarded with smiles, and laughter is enough to want to give. helping to save a child from hunger and sleepless nights, is enough to want to give. offering a kind word to those who have never known such launguage, is enough to want to give.knowing that a little goes a long way is enough to want to give. giving is something that we all should do, but often don't. i used to smile at people walking down the street, and had several people say that my smile made their day. being able to smile when someone is feeling down, or just when they needed a simple boost in their day, makes my heart smile. but smiling is something i don't do anymore. i tried, i really did but i soon realized that many people no longer liked my smile, you see i was born with really bad teeth.my first set of teeth as a child came in rotten, my mother spent lot's of time and money that she really didn't have, fixing my teeth. i suffered through many tooth aches, many swollen jaws, and the heart wrenching act of keeping my mother up all night because of my bad teeth. after many dentist visits and costly repairs, i thought my teeth were fixed, but to my dismay, that was not the case. i was eating one day and started to feel grit and sand in my mouth, to my shock and horror it was my teeth. this has happend to me for the last past couple of years, i am slowly but surely loosing my teeth. they are all rotten in the front, and almost all of them have holes in them, not to mention the puss pockets i get on the roof of my mouth because of the decay. i can't smile at people anymore without feeling ashamed. ashamed of opening my mouth and letting people see this horror before them. i try to keep my head up, and often smile, but not before quickly dropping my head or covering my mouth. i was once at a church party and i smiled at a couple of people, and the look on their face told me that my smile was very shocking. i had a church member ask me, why don't i fix my teeth because i have such a beautiful smile, i replied that money keeps me from the very thing i used to love to do most. i will never stop smiling, i will never stop hoping, and i will never stop dreaming, that one day someone somewhere will hear my cry and just maybe help me in my dream of fixing my smile. i am not rich, nor can i offer anything really great in return. but i could give you a smile that would let you know that everything will be ok, a smile that would make you feel you to are important, a smile, yes just a smile, but a smile is worth a million bucks! to anyone that may be able to help me, many thanks and blessing to you all and may god keep smiling on you!

I am a single dad raising my 14 year old daughter.  I am working only part-time because the company I worked for for the last 10 years downsized and left me unemployed.  In addition, I am a full-time student majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology and Web Development.  I am asking if someone could help me with my school funds so I can continue my education and raise my child in a good school.

It is very hard and I am doing my best that I can possibly do.  However, my daughter goes to private school because I don't like the way the educational system is in Philadelphia.  I am trying to raise money for my next year, so that I can receive my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.  Currently, I have maintained a 3.7 gpa and have made Dean's List 4 semesters straight.  I will pay back the money with interest after graduation.

I am being very honest and wish everyone the best in their future endeavors and for helping me out with anything they can donate to my cause.

I am thirty one years old, I have three children ranging from twelve to five. My children are my life and come first before all else. Three years ago I decided to attend college to better my life and my childrens life. I am a political science major and wish to attend law school in the future. I receive a pell grant and federal unsub and sub. loans. I made the choice last year to focus on my children and school only. I was working but found that my children were lacking in time spent with me. Thank you for any sites that you might direct me to for other programs.

I am a college student at Dana College. I am studying social work. I don't see myself getting through this year if I don't have a place to live or gas to even get me to school everyday. I'm scared I'll have to live in my car.  I can't even afford the co-pay on my medications so I'm going without my blood pressure and heart medications.

I am currently a junior at UNCPembroke working on my BA in Criminal Justice with minors in Spanish and Sociology. Yes, you can teach old dogs new tricks! I am loving my classes and the instructors. I am a single mom and have 5 children, of which 3 still live at home. I am in desperate need of funds so I might be able to get a place to live... out of the projects. I finally got a car, making payments but I am living on only 300.00 a month right now. The oldest goes to Robeson Community College. The second to her is registering for the fall. The last is enrolled in the extension school for his HS Diploma. There has been a lot of struggle for me and my kids to try to get to school and work and appointments and get the bills paid on time. I know there are so many others worse off than we are, although our living standard is below poverty level. Because we are in school all of our assistance has been cut out, so I am making it on my weekend job. Our life was disrupted four years ago when I found out my then husband was molesting my girls, and pretty much brainwashed my son, so we were forced to change the route of our future. It's really a long sad story but we have tried to rise up from that tragedy and  move on. I hope funding will come soon. I have applied for all the scholarships I can because a house is not all I need. I also need money for school because costs are rising and I am one of many low income people trying to get an education and make a better life for my family. My kids are doing ok but are not mentally stable enough to make it on their own. They are still going through therapy. Can someone please help us get ahead????

My name is Tiffany Ladson. I am currently an 11th grade student at Brooklyn Preparatory High School. I was recently interviwed and accepted to participate as a member of the People to People Student Ambassador Program. I will be traveling to Erope in the summer of 2007. The objective of this progam is to promote international understanding while building leadership skills among youth nationaly. This experience includes meetings with government officials, interaction with other students my age, educational activities, and home stay with host families.

I am currently seeking financial sponsers to help me with tuition, and hope I can count on your support. In case you haven't heard of the People to People Student Ambassador Program, please allow me to share some history with you. President Dwight D. Eisenhower founded the organization in 1956. He belived that if people from different cultures come together in peace and friendship then eventually the countries would as well. Since its founding, the People to People Student Ambassador Program has launched many international programs, including Sister Cities, Project HOPE, and Pen Pals.

People to People Student Ambassadors are carefully interviwed and evaluated before given their acceptance and I am honored to have been selected. Personally, I am looking forward to broadering my perspective of the world and gaining a better understanding of the Western European history. Upon my return, I plan to share my experiene with schools and civic clubs in our community. This program also allows you to earn high school and college credits. I am asking you if you can assist me on to making my future a success. I Thank You in advance !!!!!!

I am a 29 year old mother of three. My husband is disabled. He has had 34 back surgeries. My children are ages 10,9, and 7. I am currently attending ITT to obtain my associates degree in Criminal Justice. I will be graduating this September. We have been doing ok since my husband won the 4 year battle with social security. The problem that we have is that we were supposed to be buying the house that we are in but the landlord has changed his mind a lot. Now our water is going to be shut off, which is in the landlords name. We have paid the water bill (to him, because of the agreement) and according to the water department he has never made a payment. So now the water bill is over 2,000.00. I have no idea on what action we should take. If anyone has some advice, I'd love to hear it. Thank you and God Bless.

To all:

My decision to go into Nursing and get a second degree is based on the fact it is where God wants me to be.  In a fabulous book, “The Purpose Driven Life”, the author talks about God’s purpose for us. It also explains what we can do for the body of Christ, including for other Christians and humankind. Well my purpose is to be a Nurse and to help people that are sick, with little hope, scared, and many times with no one or few people to support them.  Because, I have been there or felt like I have been there more than I would like to think.  I work as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Penrose St. Francis.  It gives me so much inspiration to walk in a room of patients and to brighten their day and to know that I have made some small difference in their lives, in terms of their health, hygiene or mental outlook on the road to recovery or decline and that someone is out there who truly cares about what they are going through.  It has taken me many years to figure this out.

In the past 20 years I did not value much, I was happy go lucky, spending money frivolously, not thinking of the future, addicted to the world, the materialistic things that it had to offer and trying to impress people (friends, family, bosses, significant others) to boost my own fragile ego and to be accepted by others.  In this process I kept getting hit on the head over and over from the mistakes I was making, but I still did not make the changes that were required to be whole.  You do not know my story, I had everything, software carrier money, beautiful wife it all and working at Microsoft.  1st I lost my carrier, and then a few years later I lost my wife and son Benjamin.  When we split up they moved to Hawaii, and I stayed in Colorado pursuing my Nursing Degree.  I loved my wife Raeme more than any other women in the world and even more then that, I loved my son Benjamin.

That is when it really hit me that all that matters is friends, family, people and the interconnectedness with one another, the bottom line is love for others and God is really the only true thing we have.  All the other stuff we can put it in the garbage can.  When I or someone else dies, what do we want people to say about us, well they had a great car or house or they were a lot of fun to be around, no we want them to say good things about us and our character.   Also, after my losses, the only thing that saved me, or is still saving me from the grave is God, and that love and the interconnectedness of us all and the relationships are the only things that matter in reality and to serve others as Christ served us.

Also, I know what my future will be:

· Finish school at Hawaii Pacific University while working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, taking two years (four semesters).  So that I will not only finish my goal of being a Nurse, but I will see my son more than once per year for two weeks.

· Eventually be a nurse in a hospital where I can help patients that are sick, suffering from disease processes, in pain, scared, hurting, lonely, by providing them comfort with love in healing environment with the dignity that they deserve.

· Being a father to my son “Benjamin”.  Actively taking a role in his life, not from 3,500 miles away, but initially from Oahu, and then eventually after I finish school from the Big Island.

· Also, in being a father I will be in his life, setting an example for him by deeds, listening to him, playing with him, teaching him, interacting with him, letting him know that he is loved, and just plain spending time with him.

· Also, I will work a volunteer, outside of work, through spiritual based services to help individuals attain mental, spiritual, and financial assistance so that they can improve their lives mentally, physically and educationally, so they can in turn help others.

I have two years left at Hawaii Pacific University.  I have through Loans, some grants, and scholarships attained enough money to pay for tuition and books, which is roughly $18,000 per year.  When I am in clinicals full-time, over the next two years, I will only be able to work 1/2 time during the school year.  Therefore, I will only be able to pay for my living expenses (food, clothing, child support, insurance and gas).

What I lack are the funds to pay for rent, which is about $7,500.00 per year.  I am not asking for someone to write a check for me, but if everyone just pitched in a little it would start me towards that goal.  I am still trying to get some scholarships, Church charity and additional Federal grants that may apply, but I will realistically only go there with about $2,000.00 in my pocket .  I believe with God’s help I will get my housing paid for.  I have spent 100s of man-hours looking for extra funds in terms of scholarships and grants to get be through and they are few and far between for 43-year-old non-traditional students.  There is more money out there for younger adults coming out of high school, for minorities and woman.

As you can tell , I have not been having a great time these last few years.  I have been working full-time, paying child support and going to school and maintaining a 3.89 GPA.  It has been difficult to say the least.  Also, it is not easy to ask for help when for years I have taken care of myself.  You would be helping someone who is trying to help himself, who is doing the best he can do given the situation.  Some people would say stay in Colorado and finish school there, I will emotionally die here away from my son, I just cannot do it anymore it is killing me being away from him.  Any of you that have children would agree that it is a horrible situation to say the least.

A lot is on the line and it is not like the money is being thrown away.  I am very focused and determined, and I will not squander it.  What is driving me now is the love for my son and the desire to get through Nursing School as soon as possible.  I am really trying here, and I need a small amount of help me pay for rent while I go to school or this can be applied to school while the excess loan is applied to rent.  Also, it would be different, not to help if I was goofing off and getting bad grades, I was just invited to join the National Honor Society and there is a small chance I will get a scholarship out of it.  But, virtually no money out there for non-traditional students over forty trying to retool themselves after being economically displaced out of their industry.  I love what I do, it is difficult work, but I love to help others, I am a natural at it.

If you could help, it would ease my education in Hawaii and would ensure that I do not fall on my face and allow me ability to concentrate on school and not overwhelming financial issues.  Please consider my request, this means the world to me to be closer to my son and finish school.  I would not ask if I did not rule out other options, and NOT going is not an option, I must get closer to my son.  I cannot be away from him any longer it is killing me.  My son Benjamin asked me yesterday on the phone “Daddy when are you coming home to play with me, and I said this summer Mr. Bunny, a promise is a promise” that’s Ben’s nickname “Mr. Bunny”.

Thank you so much for your consideration.

--Benjamin

I was a struggling single mother of two girls, with one of my girls being mentally handicap.   And I want to show the world just how smart I really am! I have succeeded in raising two very beautiful daughters on my own and now I have enrolled myself in college. Currently studying Criminal Justice in hopes of opening my own business when I'm done.  Now I'm doing some research for school and will be writing a term paper when I am done. I'm doing my research on how many good poeple there are out  in this world. I will base my findings on how many dollars I receive. What I'm asking for is only one dollar from you and for you to tell as many people as you know about my qwest and have them come check out my site on aidpage. If you can help me then please do. My address is :  Sandra Copple  P.O. Box 214  Hooper,

Hello my name is Jessica and I am a an undergrad at the Universuty of Alabama and will graduate in May 2007. I have been accepted to the University's graduate program for the fall and am very excited, but also distressed. After I graduate I will have no financial assistance from my parents and will have to start working more hours to support myself. I just recently joined this and really do not know what it is all about but I need some extra financial assitance to make my way through the next two years of grad school. After that I will be able to get a good job to support myself and pay off all of my student loans. The reason I cannot get a good job after I get my undergraduate degree is because one has to have a masters to practice as a speech-language pathologist. I hope I can find the things I am looking for through this, but if not I will do whatever I can to make it through grad school and make some money!!!

Out of State tuition needs

I am looking for assistance to continue my education at Florida State University. My mom is a single mom and my father is deceased. I moved to Florida prior to starting classes at FSU but according to Florida statues I can not be considered an in state student. I will not be able to continue with my education at FSU with assistance.

My problem is that I can't find a job due to a (non-violent) felony on my record, that had nothing to do with drugs, theft, or killing someone. I have been trying since Jan. of this year. I need help with living expenses, Do you have some helpful advice or information for me? Do you know of any grants that I may qualify for? Thank you so much for any help you can offer!  My personal e-mail address is isleofsharon@aol.com   Anyone who feels moved to make a donation can e-mail me at this address. Graduate school funding

My name is Felicia Rock, a social worker and prospective grad student who resides in Snohomish County.  I have lived and worked here for over two years now, and have enjoyed much of what the county has to offer.

So why do I write?  After working at my job with f homeless families in transitional housing for close to a year, I felt it was time to get some more education to balance out my experience in the social work field.  I applied, and was accepted, for advanced standing at Eastern Washington University’s School of Social Work, one of the better programs in Washington state.  I will even be able to continue working and living in Snohomish County while attending school.  Financial aid is in place for the year and a half long program.  There is just one complication:  Federal aid does not cover the seminar I need to begin my post-undergraduate education.  I was informed of this two weeks ago, after several days of communication with the university.  It is a six credit 2 week class that begins at the end of this coming August.  I cannot start spring quarter without attending this seminar.  I am respectfully requesting sponsorship for this class in any amount up to the $1700 needed for tuition and books for this summer seminar.  I have tried all the conventional means, and those options are unavailable to me as well.

By beginning graduate school now, I feel that I will gain even more skills and knowledge to continue to aid the disenfranchised of this community, and later on a more global scale.  Thank you for your time and consideration.

Student desperately seeking help!!!

I am a 3rd year clinical psychology doctoral student specializing in children and adolescents.  I am 6 months away from starting my internship and actually making some money, and I am petrified I am not going to make it to that point because I won't have a apartment.  My school screwed up my financial aid at the beginning of this academic year.  The school increased tuition and never increased the cost of attendence budget, therefore part of the financial aid I receive that should have gone toward housing/food/utilities, etc. went toward tuition and I received $2500 in September to cover ALL of my bills through the end of December.  So I have been unable to pay November's rent and now December's rent is also due.  I received an eviction notice the day before Thanksgiving and I just don't know what else to do.

I am doing everything I can to straighten out this financial mess.  I am working 3 part-time jobs (totaling 30 hours a week) on top of classes and the 20hrs a week I work (unpaid)doing therapy with severely emotionally disturbed foster care kids.  But this is not enough to make up the difference of the $4,000 that went to tuition instead of my living expenses.  I harassed the school to fix the financial aid problem, and after weeks of begging and pleading it was finally fixed, but it won't help financially until next semester when I get my next disbursement (Jan.).  So the problem is not that I don't have any money, it's that I don't have any money right now.  All I need is for someone to cosign an alternative student loan (for $4,000)so that I can pay my past due rent, and my rent and bills through the end of December and maybe even fly home to see my family (It's been over a year since I've seen them). Between my jobs, and financial aid disbursements in January and May, I would be able to pay off the alternative student loan by May.

My family is unable to help me financially (I am the first to attend college, and god willing, will be the first Dr. in the family) and my hope is that once I graduate and become licensed, I will be able to help them.  I am a good person, I work hard, and my entire purpose in pursuing my doctorate in clinical psychology is to be able to help children who have had the deck stacked against them so early in life (i.e., abused, neglected, behavioral disorders, autistic disorders, etc.), and now that I have had the opportunity to work with foster care children my long term goal is to start a private foundation to overhaul the foster care system.  Because from what I've seen thus far, once children go into the foster care system their chances of being happy, "normal" kids decreases dramatically.

Please, if there is any way someone could possibly help me I would be forever greatful.  Achieving my doctorate in psychology has been my dream for so long and I can't bear the thought that it might all fall apart when I'm so close...

I am 24 years old and a happy mother of two little boys, ages 4 and 2. I am dovorced and my ex has moved out of state. I do recieve aid from the state for child care, some school fees, gas money for driving to school, and food, and monthly bills. I am not asking help to pay bills, but a one time assistance in getting a new used vehicle for me and my boys to help finish my externship to graduate. I am not one to ask for help, I try to make it on my own until i have no other choice to ask for help. I am in desperate need to get a vehicle to drive to my externship site, I have just alittle under a month left until i graduate and can start my career as a vet assistant.

My hobbies are taking my kids to the duck pond, zoo, and i also write poetry and short stories. I am a family person and just trying to make it and give my kids what they deserve. I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read this, and sincerley thank anyone who can spare just a single dollar in this complication i have risen upon. God bless you all.

I am a sophmore, mechanical engineering major (3.0 GPA) student, currently attending Savannah State University in Savannah, GA. I am in need of some type of aid to help cover the overwhelming costs of tuition and textbooks. After earning a Bachelor's degree, I plan to continue my education at Georgia Institute of Technology and earn my master's degree in Mechanical engineering. I believe my creativity and strong work ethic will make me a valuable asset in the industry.

I am also interested in internship opportunities availiable in any field of engineering. I am most specifically looking to gain experience in mechanical engineering but I value the opportunity to learn from and work along side engineers of all professions.

Hello , I am  a mother  of one and  a  partime college student  in  bad financial debt. I manage to rack up 14000 in bills before my baby was born and I  didn't relize how important to me and my child is having good credit. I can never have a credit card, it hard to get into any place half way  decent  to live in and im struggling  just to keep  my car on the road  and am unable to get aloan for a better car. I t seems like the only people who want to help are men looking for favors which i am not willing to do. so I  struggle to maintain my self respect. I am not looking for grant money info, i have tried that and ive spent so much time wasted and have gotton no where. I am looking for financial help, so that I can pay these bills before I reach even more of a bottom. I want my daughter to have a stable parent that can help her in the future. after talking to several people they told me that setting up an accountsnow account was a wise idea. I am very honest about my situation but do prefer to remain somewhat anoynomous because this is embarising to me. I should have more then i have for all the work ive put in.
