my wish to become financialy independent for my daughter and myself, and eventually feed the minds of children through art they create.

I am a 30 yr old single mother of 2 residing in Connecticut. I am currently working as a casino dealer , very odd hours..my shift is 5am -1pm. and only scheduled 2-3 days a week. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome ( yes it is a very real sickness) which makes it very hard to function outside of home. I also have recently been told that I have Spina Bifida (don't know why it wasn't found when I was born ??!!) I would like to be able to work from home and spend more time with the kids. I dont want to have to apply for disability because I would like to have my own little business and have things to do.  I also would like to own my own home one day. Im trying to keep my hopes up that I can make this happen. I have been renting for the last 10 years and I would love to have my own home one day. Any information on how to buy a home with not so good credit or any grant programs would be greatly appreciated

I've heard that there is money available, through grant programs that can help start a business.  I've also heard that there may be grants available especially for women, entreprenurs and maybe for artists.  I want to start my own decorative painting business, and really have very little means of doing so currently.  I want to try and become independent as my marriage is on the rocks.  I'm not looking for a free ride, or anything that is not honest.  I just wanted to inquire about the grant programs that I've heard so much about.  If I can get this going, I would eventually like to start up a childrens art studio with monthly art auctions in our community.  I live in Benicia, CA which would truly appreciate such a creative place.  We are a very art oriented town, and I think it would fit in perfectly.

I think the amount I would require is around $5,000.00 - $10,000.00.  I know a formal business plan would be necessary to come up with a better estimate, whick is what I am working on, now.

I'm 21 years old and have been living on my own for a year now, working full time and would like to go back to college and continue my degree in art. I would like to see if I qualify for grants.

Hi, my name is Kerry and I have 4 daughters.  They are 4, 6, 6 and 16.  About a year and a half ago, I left an abusive marrage to try to make a better life for me and my girls.  Things have been pretty rocky since then.  My ex is refusing to let me go and refuses to sign any of the paperwork.  He is trying to get custody of the girls and calls children's services on me all the time.  (The ladies from there are WONDERFUL!  I have nothing but good things to say about them, and they have always quickly closed the cases, but it is a horrible abuse of the system on his part and keeps them overworked and is a form of harrassment). 

 Anyway... I work two jobs.  One in the morning and one in the afternoon so that I can get my twins from school and take them to the daycare.  This also allows me to take them to the councelor's apointments and lets be be availible to go to the school when one of them is throwing a temper tantrum (hey.. Daddy throws things when he's mad, why can't I?).  Anyway, this means that I currently don't have health insurance.  I take a drug called effexor for Fibomyalgia (which is a disease that causes chronic pain).  It is $140/month at half the dose I'm supposed to be taking. 

I've never been in the position of not being able to give my children something for Chirstmas.  I don't have any family (my Mom died 2 years ago) and I dont' have any credit cards.  I do make fairly good money and their Dad is currently working and paying child support, but at the moment, I have to pay my lawyer, and the court appointed Gaurdian and every time he calls Children's Services or some other authority on me, it costs over $1,000 for me to clear my name and pay everyone to investigate something that didn't need to be investigated.  (sigh)   

I'd like to give them some art supplies this year.. we color and paint and craft all the time.  If anyone has some extra art supplies, material or yarn, would you consider donating them to us for their Christmas?

Hi, am a passionate artist that wants to follow my dreams and do what I love most and that is to create beautiful art pieces. But unfortunately, I am so much in dept that I am unable to keep up with my bills as well as buy art supplies. Everytime I saved up enough to buy paint that I need it must go towards my bills.  This is really depressing because not only can I make enough to support myself, I can't even do what I love most. I graduated with an arts degree in studio arts, but is unable to pursue my dream due to my school bills and my living expenses. I had to subject my self to working at a job that does not pay enough. Please help, anything will work.

I went to college right out of high school and the financial aid is building up.  I wish to recieve a Bachelors in Computer Graphics or finish my BFA (Bachelor of Fine Art).  To do this I need help in finding money that I can fund to my college or pay back a little at a time.  I hope to be in California working for Disney, Pixar or Dreamworks by next year.  Thank you for your time, Melissa

Docaviv is an Israeli non profit organization which produces the annual Docaviv Documentary Film Festival.

In 2007, over than 20,000 attended the festival, viewing documentary films from Israel and from around the world.

Each year Docaviv grants prizes in differnet catagories, in an effort to encourage Isareli documentary film makers.

Over the years Docaviv has won local and international acclaim. Many of the flims which were had their premier in the festival later won prizes at internationl film festivals around the world.

I'm a single mother of  four and in need of some help.  I have an opportunity to join in a starting business which will keep me at home for my kids.  My share is $2000.00.  I have been trying to make extra money with my artwork, but that's kind of slow.  Hope you can help out in the start up.

I have been hunting for a job in Beloit Wisconsin and the surrounding area since November last year.. I got a seasonal job with UPS in December, but it was very short and they will not hire anyone for an inside job due to all possitions being filled by Union workers.
I have filled out applications for every business I could find within a 25+ mile radius and still have not had a single job offer.
My roommate who told me they wanted to help me has given me a place to stay, but they have had a change of heart and said I must be out by May 1st.. I have no money and nowhere to go and I don't know what to do.
A friend of a friend told me they could hook me up with a job if I could make it to Canada, but the requirements to become a Canadian citizen are fairly expensive, i.e. six months living expenses are required on a travel visa.

If anyone can offer me any kind of job, I don't care what it is or how much it pays or how many hours I have to work, I will do anything.
Or if you are willing to help me at all, all I can offer in return is artwork.. I have a small online shop with digital paintings I have done, if you just buy even one of them it will be a great help.

I am a woman of 34 years old looking to get out of debt and I feel ridiculous having a post here. I am a very hard worker, I live on my own and do not have a family.  I went to school for art and then art education and owe about 40,000.00 dollars for my education (Rutgers University undergraduate BFA, Columbia Teachers College graduate, MA). I also currently owe 13,000.00 dollars in credit card debt. I have been bankrupt once before about 5 years ago.  I work full time and have interviewed for many jobs. AT the moment I cannot get out from under the debt enough to go to school, excercise, create art, or kick the daily depression that I am in. I am willing to work two or three jobs but have not had much luck finding something.  I would like some help, thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. My wish is to be debt free and have a decent job, savings and be able to pay my bills without have to scrap for change for spending money. I am a program manager at a non-profit that works with underserved and/or at risk and abused children. I work many hours with no overtime payment. Though I love my position, I will have to leave so that I can afford to live.

I am a twenty year old artist currently suffering due to the state of the Michigan economy. I am trying my hardest to move to Chicago so that I maybe able to continue creating my artwork as well as find a job that will pay my bills in the process. I have no doubts that I will be able to find work in Chicago, nor do I doubt that I will be able to spread my name as an artist. But I can not afford the move, my goal is $1000 before I leave to cover my security depot, first month of rent and utilities, and moving expenses.

My parents can not help me, my mother died when I was a child and I haven't had contact with my father since I was sixteen years old.
