MY SON GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL IN 2005. HE RECENTLY MARRIED AND IS SEEKING EMPLOYMENT. HE ORIGINALLY WANTED TO ATTEND AN AUTOMOTIVE TRAINGING SCHOOL (ATI OR LINCOLN TECH),. HE HAS RECEIVED ONE SCHOLARSHIP IN THE AMOUNT OF 1000.00. HE DID RECEIVED 4000.00 FOR A PELL GRANT. THE SCHOOL IS OVER 20,000.00 AND WE CAN NOT AFFORD THE DIFFERENCE WE HAVE TO COME UP WITH FOR HIM TO CONTINUE HIS EDUCATION. I HAVE TERRIBLE CREDIT AND CAN NOT GET THE STUDENT LOAN FOR HIM. HE AND HIS WIFE STRUGGLE NOW WITH JUST NORMAL LIVING EXPENSES. IT SEEMS SO UNFAIR HE HAS WORKED SO HARD TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND IS VERY DISCOURAGED AT THIS POINT. HE HAS HAD A HARD TIME FINDING A JOB AND I DONT WANT HIM TO LOSE HOPE. PLEASE TELL ME WHERE TO TURN TO FOR HELP.
THANK YOU
My husband and I recently purchased a post secondary diesel mechanics training institution. It has been run on a small scale for twenty years with a facility and training aids that are obsolete and not conducive to the growth and attractiveness of the school. We are looking for a grant that will enable us to purchase some updated training aides for next years students. We would need some new engines, transmissions, school supplies (file cabinets, books, etc) and tools. Any assistance you could give us as to minimizing our choices down to the ones that would benefit us the most would be greatly appreciated. There are so many loan programs to choose from and I don't know where to begin. Additionally, you should know that the school, at this point, is a private, for profit entity. I am sure this will limit our funding sources, but I am sure there is still help out there for individuals trying to get started. Thanks again.
