I am a work-from-home mom of three, including one child with special needs. Thanks to early diagnosis and lots and lots of therapy she is doing incredibly well, keeping up with her twin brother and giving big brother a run for his money. After dealing with insurance companies for her care and treatment I realized what a horrible healthcare crisis this country is in.  Now I work with Ameriplan, an alternative and/or supplement to traditional insurance. Hi! I am hoping to get some help here. My name is Trina. I am a 27 year old unmarried female. I work in the medical field as a certified nurse's aid/patient care technician (depending on where you go) in Texas. I have been getting dental work done little by little here and there as I can since I have no insurance. I have had a root canal, 2 fillings, and 10 teeth extracted (4 wisdom teeth, the teeth next to each wisdom tooth and 2 in front). Since this has been slow going I am unable to keep up with the rate of decay going on and have had a tooth in front break off and several in back chip or break. I can no longer eat hard or crunchy foods. I have had to give up most fruit and fruit juices due to the acidity in them causing alot of pain in my teeth.  Chewing is becoming harder each day and sometimes it seems like my teeth just ache. I get turned done for financing at dental clinics and am running out of options and time. I know I need to get my teeth fixed and know I need to do it fast, but I don't know how to get help doing it. I have been trying to do it on my own and it's not working. I am at the point of I don't care if they pull them all and put in dentures. I am not trying to save my teeth, just my health. I will admit it is partially for vanity reasons too. Would you want someone to take out your IV or whatever if their mouth looks like something out of a bad country bumpkin sketch? Anyway, sorry I get a little long winded sometimes, I was wondering if anyone out there can direct me to information on any type of financial aid for people with dental problems, bad credit, and little money? I am a disabled vietnam era veteran. About two years ago I suffered two strokes and saw first hand the obstacles that people and families in need go thru when they are struck with an unforeseen incident. The world can turn into a cruel and cold and lonely place. It seems that the only visitors that approach you are people that want to take their pound of flesh. All the collectors come to collect their debts and there is no way of holding them off. Sometimes families are forced to make harsh and rash decisions just in order to survive the tradegy.

I do not want anyone to feel the way that I did when I had my strokes. Dealing with the feeling of complete loss and disarry of your life only compounds itself on your situation. It harms both you and the family around you in so many ways. The emotional, physical and financial strain can become unbearable. Along with the illness and long sleepless nights you are also plagued with the ever approaching feeling of doom. THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO SURVIVE!!!

I was able to first hand experience this and to speak with others that have gone through these incidents also. There are a few basic needs that must be met in order to get through this crisis safely and remain in a stable environment.

Basic needs include but are certainly NOT limited to:

Food / Shelter / Medical Care

Knowing that someone cares and that there are people who can or want to help, makes a big difference in bridging the gap to becoming healthy and viable again.

What I have decided to do and wish to attempt to pass on to people are both the basic needs and the knowledge that there are others that care and sympathize with people in need.

I hope to help bridge the gap between the needs and the needy!

I am starting a non-profit organization to help veterans and their families cope with the difficult and rocky time between receiving either their benfits or their pension. I wish to exted this service also to the homeless in need.  

I need help to get this venture started. Any help from you would help out the cause greatly!!!  One of the things that we need too do is purchase wholesale/discount/surplus items to raise  funds for the cause.  
  We can't do this without you and there are people waiting to be helped. Please help us bridge the gap between the needed and needy.

I want to be an organization that ACTUALLY helps, not just a name that people are turned away from when they are in need.

 Hello ;  We are survivors of the Sept. 11th tower attacks, afterwhich we moved back to Missouri , only to have our lives torn appart by a Tornado that devistated our town of Jackson Mo..My husband and I are having our 30th wedding anniversary this sept. , and have made it through many  financial pot holes throughout the years, through faith and hard work. We are trying to recover on our own, but living in todays economy is hard enough ,  recovering all alone today is becoming imposible .   I have serious herat problems and severe joint and muscle pains and therefore can not work.  My husbands's job does not pay much , we are just making our bills.  Right now in May / June  of 2008, due to lost work because of severe folloding and  the ice storms that our area has suffered , we are a month behind on our rent which is $300.00, and our elect. which is $246.00, and now our cars licence plate has expired , which means we have to pay $60.00 for our county taxes, $45.00 for the plates, and $75.00 for insurance before we can get it plated....  We also have a payday loan out for $300.00 , that every 2 weaks we have to pay off and get a new loan from them  , to cover the money we used to pay the first one off . We are also in nead of a car battery, and some  car repair.  We were counting the  tax stimulous check to bail us out , but now they told us it was taken for back taxes they claim we owe from way back when...  We do not have time to fight this , we are drowning now... We are so tired of fighting to live.  There is no fight left in us . I am also strugling with having  endured a lot of losses last year, I lost  several loved ones , one after the other.  We use to love people, and had so much faith , now that We find my ourselves  at the mercy of others we are finding   a cold and lonely world out there. Hi!  My name is Cindy.  I live in the suburbs of Houston, Tx.  I work in Houston, TX. I am trying to locate a dentist that will accept payment plans (something along the lines of debit from checking account once a month or whatever).  I am not looking for free dental work.  I was just not blessed with good strong teeth, but it's my responsibility to take care of them.  Unfortuantley I have bad credit, so I am not able to be financed.  I have several teeth missing or broken.  I do have a lot of pain, and it's not healthy to take Advil like I do, it can damage my liver.  Mostly I would like to be able to eat ( I have lost weight because of my teeth) and I would like my liver to be okay, since I won't be taking Advil like it is going out of style.  If anyone has any suggestions, please e-mail me at cindyluvstx78@yahoo.com  I would appreciate any helpful hints.

I am a mother of a 2 year old son.  My husband and I try very hard to make a home for our family.  He lost his job the day after Christmas and has had trouble finding another one.  I have picked up some contract work, and am now working two contract jobs in addition to my full time job.  I was diagnosed 2 years go with multiple sclerosis, so the extra work is not an easy task.

Anyway, we got behind one month on our house payment and have been unable to catch up.  Our bank is demanding two months (the behind month plus this month) payment within 48 hours.  I don't have it and don't know what to do.

I am a physically disabled person living in Pembroke, Ontario.  I have been told after suffering from oral cancer that I need to have some teeth removed.  But I do NOT have the money to pay for the dental implants that I am told by my dentist that I need.  Do you know of anyone who could help me? I live on a small disability pension and the Ontario Disability Support Program will NOT pay for dental implants.  I need help. I was wondering if anyone knows of anyone that can help someone with dental work.  I live in S.C. and I am in

We are a low income family looking for assistane to help us make it! Ok let me get a little bit more into detail on how we need help. My husband is a Iraqi veteran he is 27 yrs old and is now disabled he was injured in iraq, and when he came home was discharged from the military. I am unable to work out of the home due to this and our 3 children. We live in government housing and would really like to have our own home. please any info possible would be great!

Hi, I'm a 28 year old mother of 3. I have been a single mother for the last 5 years. I have stayed at home with my girls for the last 10 years and have not worked. My husband is the one that took care of us financially up until that day 5 years and 2 months ago when he had a fatal accident. I have taken care of the girls until they were all in school. And now my youngest starts this year. I'm so excited! Now i get to do something that will benefit all of  us but unfortunatly I am so embaressed about my smile. I need to have extensive work done and have no money or insurance to do so. I'm going to star school in sonography in August. My teeth give me so much pain that I fear that it will take me from some classes when the pain is extemely bad. I will also be working with the public and am very ashamed of how I look. If anyone can help please let me know. I would be eternaly grateful. My hero which also doubles as my partner in life, needs dental work very urgently but cannot afford it. He is 42 years old and has not brushed his teeth in the 5 years I have been with him. In his early 20's he had an abcess tooth that he went to have work done on only to wake up 2 weeks later from the coma that apparently the poisons set him in to. As well as a coma, he had lock jaw and the dentist tried to pry his jaw open. Anyway, it hurt so badly to brush his teeth so he has not in 20 years. He wipes them and washes with mouthwash, but I am sure he now has a gum infection. He has no insurance and being a single white male there are no resources except for emergency extraction services, but this is only for 1 tooth at a time that is obviously in need of extraction. He needs 12 uppers pulled and a plate. He actually pulled out one of his front teeth by wiggleing it (it was bending as he tried to eat). He does have a job, he is a breakfast cook at a small cafe, although insurance is not provided and we cannot afford to buy it. I want so badley to find him help as he helped me and my son's 5 years ago. I have 2 teens sons and I was a meth addict, living in a filthy house, being a lousy "mother" and heading towards disaster fast. My hero, with all the bagage and risks involved, pulled us out of that life and provided us with a new life. My oldest son who was in juvy at the time is now a productive adult whom stays out of trouble and my youngest whom was placed in a behavioral glass because he refused to do any work is now an honor roll student that has a resume profile better than most people at the age of 30. I work from home but I only make enough money to help make ends meet. I work from home because as my hero taught me, kids do need the stabilty and presence of an adult. If there is any help available, please, please point me in the right direction. I have surfed the web and made so many phone calls and I do not know where else to turn.

Things went bad when we started moving Grandpa & Grandma out of the home into oldfolks homes. The kids lost precious teachings that are vital to life. The olderfolk lost their reason to be. All in the name of Bigger, better,faster and longer! We have a vast number of children lost in fostercare, on the street,and in broken homes. And with the great number of functioning olderfolk lets take some of the failing family farms and put them together? This is my idea. The children have not only lost the joys and lessons that Mom and Dad have no time to teach. But what is more, They don't learn how to be Human. Look around, We are in deep we must begin with our children so that when they are "The powers that be" they wil treat their familys with a bit more Humanness. One farm is all we need to start.   A. Hi I am 29 years old,and am in a rutt..I have had dental problems for years.I recently went to the dentist and my mouth dropped looking at the bill on how much it was going to cost me to fix my problem. I can not afford this,and called the local human services for help,but could not get it. My health isn't that great from this,and i can not eat very well..I don't want people to feel sorry for me,but i am desperate for help.I have not help from anyone, and this is my last resort.

Please if anyone knows what i can do to resolve this i would appreciate anything,and to have a healthier life.

Thank you for reading this. I have not yet found any help with my dental situation. I am a single, white, 47yo male with no dependant childeren or disability, and unfortanitly no formal education for a high paying job. I do work, but i have no insurance nor the extra cash to have teeth fixed. I seem to have very limited options as to getting help.
