 I am a single mom of a 16 year old son who is terminally ill with a disease called Wegeners Granulmatosis.  I am not one to ask for charity, but this year I have swallowed my pride to do just that.

I am currently unemployed due to Justins hospitalizations over the last year.  We have lost EVERYTHING, right down to our home and vehicle. We have been staying with friends for several months now, even though it is not a home of our own it is a warm place to lay our heads.

I cant begin to tell you how overwhelmed I am emotionally and mentally, anyone who faces the fact your child is dieing can understand where I am coming from.  I lost my son James six years ago and now I am losing Justin. I keep faith that a miracle will happen, because faith and hope are the two things we do have.

It kills my soul  to know that Justin may face christmas morning with nothing.. I dont know what to do or where to turn to.. If anyone could offer me any help or lead me in the right direction to anyone who could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm a 42 year old single female looking for help in getting dental work done. As a single mother of two, I have worked very hard to raise my children without the help of their father. Providing full support for my children, I have had to put my own health needs last. Having had no dental insurance for most of my life, I am now in serious need of assistance to regain my smile and my health. I have been told that it would be best for me to have all of my teeth extracted and dentures put in. While this is devastating news to me, it seems to be the only route to go at this point. Due to the severity of my dental condition, I have been told by three different dentists that oral surgery would be best since I have a lot of teeth that have broken off at the gumline. I am hoping to find someone in my area that would be willing to donate their services for free to help me. I can no longer chew most foods as I have lost all of my back teeth. I suffer from nearly continuous infections in my mouth and never feel good, or healthy anymore. This problem is not only ruining my health, but has taken away all of my self esteem. I love to laugh and smile and I normally work out in the public. For the past three years, I have stayed hidden away in my home, contracting work so that I do not have to be seen. Not only have I taken a serious pay cut, but I feel shut off from the rest of the world. I don't even like to have to go shopping for food, and when I do have to go, I try not to make eye contact with anyone. If anyone out there can help me, PLEASE let me know. I don't know where else to turn and I am so very depressed and miserable. My youngest child graduates from high school next year and it is my dream to be able to attend and feel that I can openly smile and celebrate this wonderful time. This post is to help my family. My daughter was in a serious car accident in 06/2006 in which she sustained a severe brain injury and multipule broken bones and lacerations. The doctors told us there was no hope.Despite all odds she is home with now and doing quite well, however........

I am a 34 yr old mother of three children. I have worked for the past 15 years in the Administrative field and had to leave my job for health reasons. I was diagnosed the first part of March with a mass on my heart and referred to Dr. Michael Reardon in Houston to meet with me and make a final diagnosis of the mass. It was determined that the mass is solid and blocking the blood flow to my brain.

I am seeking any help that anyone can give me, I don't have insurance and can't afford the medical bills.

My sister, brother-in-law and their 2 daughters lost everything to the hurricane. Their home was in Metarie. It was under 4 feet of water for several days. While it still stands, the damage was so that it will be uninhabitable for at least a few months. All of their furniture is ruined. The floors are destroyed and have to be relaced. The drywall throughout the entire house has to be torn down and replaced. They are, as of yet, unsure if the water damage to the inner walls is extensive enough to force them to tear them down completely. They also have roof damage, and every single tree around the house was uprooted and has to be removed. All of the appliances (washer, dryer, dishwasher, refridgerator, etc.) are unsalvageable and will have to be replaced. They aren't sure exactly how much the damage total will come to, but the number will have at least 4 zeros behind it. We just recently found out that their landlord did not have insurance on the house.
The only possessions they have left are what they brought with them to the hotel. A few outfits each, some books and movies, most of their photos, a laptop, their animals (along with several more they have rescued since the hurricane) and their cars. Everything else was either destroyed outright, is covered in mold/mildew, or is too water logged to save.

During the storms they took refuge in the hotel my sister runs in the French Quarter. There wasn't flooding or much damage caused by the hurricane there, but it was the central location that the looters and junkies flocked to. Along with only having enough food for a few days, having limited power for a few days until the generator died, and not being able to do simple things like bathe or flush the toilet for over a week, they also had to contend with the looters and general crazy people who flocked to the Quarter. They couldn't leave the hotel. They had to stay relatively quiet so as not to attract attention. They barely slept, especially my brother, who had to walk the building with a shotgun every night to try and keep them safe. My sister had to devise and teach her daughters an escape route should they hear gunshots in the building (I emphasis 'in' because you couldn't help but hear the shots from outside). They lived like that until earlier this week.
They are relatively safe now. They have armed guards watching the building, running water from the ground floor to the third floor (though it is apparantly unfit for human consumption, so they still have to rely on bottled water for drinking and any bathing), electricity, and they can leave the hotel as long as they're back by the 6pm city wide curfew. One of the phones in the building actually gets service (albeit unreliable and generally only at night) so I've been able to keep in contact with her.
The girls (one is 14, and the other is celebrating her 11th birthday this weekend) have lost everything. Everything. Somehow they're maintaining an optimistic outlook on things, and have been helping out as much as they can. You have no idea how proud of them I am.

Mostly, they need clothing (all kinds, for all weather), shoes, and money/gift certificates to aid in the house repair (Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Target, Sears, etc.). They've stayed at the hotel to work towards getting it operational again (so my sister can still earn a paycheck). My brother has been working as much as he can doing repair, clean up, and security work for anyone in the area that will have him. They are doing everything they can to help themselves rebuild, they just can't do it alone.

I have an idea that might make getting money easier on you.  The way the average positing is worded makes it hard for a contributor to make a donation.  You also would have to give out your physical address which is not very safe for some of you. My suggestion is that you consider opening a PayPal Premier account. To my knowledge, all you need is an address and a bank account to set it up.  Once you have an account, people can send you money from either their own PayPal accounts or using a debit/credit card.  PayPal does take a small cut from the money you receive.  You can then transfer money into or out of your bank account for free - it takes 2-3 days for the transfer to complete.  There may be other services that do this, but I am not familiar with any others.  Certain PayPal is amongst the most known trusted. You can reach them at www.paypal.com

Once this is set up, you will just need to give out the email address linked to your PayPal account in order to accept a donation. Perhaps one day PayPal might consider making receiving donations free, so that you don't even lose a few cents of the money you need.

My name is Kathy, I have 5 children. I have been out of work on disability for 3 years and am currently trying to go back to work on a part time basis. I have been looking for jobs daily and have my resume posted as well.

My husband left the home recently and I am 1 month behind in rent, 3 months behind in the electric and phone bills and can't afford to have the gas on right now. I am not used to asking for anything,I always try to do things on my own. I have already discussed with my children that there will be no presents this year. However they do have family memebers that they will be receiving presents from and we do have a tree(artificial) and we have plenty of christmas spirit.But, having the bills caught up would be a good present for us to get started in the new year. I do receive child support for 3 of my children but groceries,clothes, shoes, toiletries and gas are about all that I can afford right now.

I heard about this site on the news about a month ago and now that I am in this position I figured that it was worth a try. I am trying very hard not to lose everything before I can land a job that will take care of the bills at least. I have had a couple of interveiws and as of yet no call. I just sent off a letter to PayPal asking that they waive transaction fees for people accepting donations from aidpage.com.  Now I don't think that they are going to do anything just because I asked them to, but perhaps if they receive emails from a bunch of us, it might get considered.  The email address of the PayPal president is  rdutta@paypal.com.  The email I wrote is:

"There is a site on the web called aidpage.com.  If you look at it, you will notice that it is mostly made up of people in horrible situations begging for money.  It would make is so much easier for them to accept donations if they were able to use a service like PayPal to do it.  The problem is that PayPal fees might be a hardship on some people who might get very small donations of just a dollar or two.  Could you find a way to allow them to accept unlimited donations for free? (I noted that the Personal PayPal account allows only a few debit/credit card transactions a year.  These people are suffering and every penny counts.

Hello Wonderful, Compassionate World!  Here is my story: 

Merciful Compassion 'Krapalu' Showing or giving mercy.

I am a single mother of an amazing little boy, who is the love of my life.  I worked my fingers to the bone in a great career, putting my blood, sweat and tears into a company for over 14 years.  It was the opportunity of a lifetime, and I was able to learn and grow with this company, starting out as a bookkeeper, and moving into a senior executive level.  I purchased our first home on my own, and it was our dream home.

My son's biological father was hardly ever involved in his life, never paid child support, and never helped with my child's insurance or any of the medical bills.  The father only came around to harass me when it was convenient for him.  After several volatile and abusive situations with this man, I finally decided that I needed to take legal action to rid myself of this man before my son witnessed my murder by him.

If anyone is familiar with our judicial system, it is not about right or wrong, or even the truth for that matter.  I hired an attorney to set up a Protective Order and Supervised Visits for my son because his father had already threatened to kill me, kidnap my son, and take him to Mexico where he owns property.   I took the high road during the entire litigation, always believing that the truth prevails.  Boy, was I in for a rude awakening.  The biological father put up the most vicious, vindictive fight against me, concocting the most malicious lies about me and tried to take my son from me.  Unfortunately, he was able to con an attorney to work Pro Bono for him, and I was in for the fight of my life. 

I do not come from a wealthy family at all, and worked very hard for everything that I had.  Well, the opposing counsel pulled many unethical and illegal manuevers during our litigation, and got my son's father out of over $20,000 in back child support, his portion of unpaid medical bills, and forced me to rack up over $200,000 in legal fees.  After four attorneys, selling my beloved home, losing everything I had worked so hard for, and going through my parents retirement funds, I kept custody of my son, but at a very high price.  On top of getting the father out of his financial responsibilities - the opposing counsel also got the child support payments reduced to nothing.  Please note:  the biological father is a trained nurse - but waits tables so he can hide his income and pay the lowest child support possible.

I had to sell my dream home to help pay legal fees in the fight for my child - but the worst part is that my parents had to help me with the rest of the legal fees and went through their entire life savings.  They are both retired and in their 60's and 70's.  They had been very frugal and spent their entire lives saving to have a decent retirement. 

Because of this litigation, my credit has been temporarily ruined after years of a pretty much perfect credit score, I owe my parents over $200,000, and have to start my life completely over from rock bottom.  My biggest heartbreak is that my parents are not even able to enjoy their golden years because of one very bad attorney, and my choice to leave an extremely abusive man.

I have been trying so hard to land a job, but with no luck.  I have asked friends and relatives for help, but no luck there either.

So here I am, On AIDPAGE.  I am completely broke, in serious debt, and desperately need help from any Angels out there.  I am not asking for a handout - I just truly need some help getting back on my feet to be self sufficient again.  My parents need my help.  My son needs me to be strong for him. 

I cherish helping and giving to the homeless.  I am very saddened that I am not in a position right now to be able to give back to those in need, but it is my top priority once I get back on my feet again.  Money and material possessions are worthless unless we continuously give back to those in need.

 I live in beautiful northern Michigan... well it used to be beautiful since now i am going through a divorce and my income is not that much. I cant even get help from the state.. they say i make to much money. I make $10.00 a hour for a family of three and with that i pay house payment and car loan and well gas almost got shut off phone could be next. Taxes are due on my home and i cant even get a loan. I fear every day when i come out of work my car is not going to be there. How can this be happening to me! Both of my parents are passed away, I have no one to turn to for help. I sit and wonder sometimes if my kids are happy with there life here. Because there father makes it look so much nicer on his end. Well that is my life in a nut shell right now.. Maybe it will improve.. God never closes and door without opening a window.

I was victimzed by a check cashing scam led by a European group. They contacted me through careerbuilder.com and hired me as a dontations collector sent me a cashier's check and instructed me by email to wire the money by Western Union. I deposited the check in my account and waited until I thought it cleared and wired the money.  I went to the bank to withdraw some money and I was told that my account was overdrafted by $3,444and the $1000 that I had left in my accoubtto live off of for the rest of the month ( the next 21 days and pay bills, rent was gone. I almost fainted.

I contacted the FTC,secret service, Western Union, the state attorney general's office and the bank who is investigating the matter. I am a single mom who is struggling to make ends meet. I even looked online at google.com, msn.com and yahoo.com to check the organization out before getting invoved in this. I have never done anything illegal in my life, I am not a criminal. I have worked in chid welfare for many years as a social worker and I love helping people but now I need help.

Despite my reports the organization has a website www.lsheltonhome.com and they are scamming unsuspecting job seekers if there bank does not intervene and not cash the phony checks. There are two websites with more information about this scam that I found last night. I am praying that someone helps because I am a honest person that was looking for extra work because I am financially strapped from month to month. All my funds have been taken by the bank and I only received half of my paycheck this month.

I seen and I asked for the situations for begging,20% persons,described me story,that story socked me,In India,banks are providing money helps to people,for making business,and for making house,every person want to live own house and every person want to make business for him,by the native property,or by the native land,people start to lened money from bank,and starts debits,after one season,business shut down,and bank recovered property,after this situations,there are not a way to live anywhere,women start to begging,or start to make works in the houses,also there are not a good situations to women,there are also hungery wolfs are waiting for this type ladies,they provide him money for the food,and after seeing the position of the family,they start to demand money,when money not paid by ladies,they start to make animal activities with him,after this type jobs,there are 10% ladies are start business for making money,and those ladies are replied thier answer,only banks are responsable for this matter.

Give me money,for food,I am selling my body,it is the reply of those women,I surprised after hearing this type answer,There are not water for making crops in the feilds,and there are not money to seeds fields,there are not money to pay bills of heavy electricity charges,there are not money to make house,Railways stations are full with this type persons,Bus stands are full with this type persons,temple streets are full by this type persons,and door of restorent,doors of religious places are full with this type persons,I think in mind,I am not alone in this world,I am making money by the astrology,I have one agriculture field,I sold that field,by the money of that field,I start feeding to poor,when find money by the astrology,I start helps to poor,My children all are busy with me,I am thinking If I am thinking this type,then why not you.Give helps to poor,those are helps less today,after some time,if they start any type work,or there are any thinking from the great nations of the world,perhaps there are changing about poor,and if political ways changed in India it means there are more relief to poor.

I seen in the wast places,there are some children searcing usable things from wast,like plastic,iron nails,metal parts,cloths,and more for selling them,there are cost of a computer in India,but not the cost of a child,if any child want work in the hotel,restorent,or any place where his or her stomach can fill by the food,there are more band about child labor,there are not works for the children,every businss man start autometic machines for making thier producton,and every one want to live far from the headache of the government policy,leaders are only you can see in the area,when elections start,and after elections,there are not any single visite in the related area.

I am seeing who is coming for making me helps,for food,for cloths and for the livings,I am seeing who is going to make caution to humanity,about this situation,and I am seeing who is going to cry in the world for the poor.Everyday I am going to near and near help less persons,I want to make him good,but there are not more with me,I started eat one time,I leave wearing cloths,only I wear one ganji and one tehamad,I am always tryinig to give batter life to poor,but I help less,I think if every one start to make helps by a single pony,then there are more and more ponies for the poor,and I can make helps by the strength,come with me and start helps,if soul in the body,and the name of soul is God,then why not you start to make worship to God by the helps to poor,come with me and start helps to day,write me about your own helps- Email - astrobhadauria@yahoo.com
