Late August on the day "Hurricane Katrina" made land it completely changed the lives of my family. I am the mother of 8 children, and wife to  (although disabled)  a wonderful husband! We owned our home in the Parish of St. Bernard and thought we were set and would not ever move again, but "Katrina" had other plans.Our home was destroyed completely, along with all of our belongings. Just the visible devastation in itself was next to impossible to deal with, not counting having to prepare yourself for a sit-down with my clueless, beautiful  young children and look in their saddened eyes baring nothing but heart-wrenching news!!!!  The first question they asked me was "Is O'Mallie okay?" (their  cat) Unfortunately, we had no insurance on our home. Now we find ourselves in desperate need of someone to help w/ finances for a new home which has proven to be extremely difficult b/c my husband is disabled and we are on a fixed income w/ a very tight budget. So in short we would be extremely blessed if we were to   cross paths w/ someone who would owner finance us, or help us financially. Even the smallest donation would be greatly appreciated and remembered in the process of rebuilding a once stable life for my very deserving family.

My name is Jess, I am a wife and mother of five children ages 8,7,5,3,and 10mo. My husband has a decent job, but we've come up on a rough patch. Just need a little help. I have designed a great diaper bag. which I would like to start make and selling as a home business. I know I could sell these bags for between $50 and $75 dollars at least. I have been looking into sites that i could set up a store front on but I just don't have the money to invest in all the materials to make the bags without first having orders. These bags are very practical and would make a very good and unique gift for someone else or yourself. They have a large pocket with lined with four small pockets for all of the baby things and a seperate shallow pocket for all of  the parents things. Plus pockets on the sides for cell phone, keys, and a bottle. The thing that makes this bag very unique is the detachable changeing pad with easy access pockets for diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream and hand sanitizer.

I came up with this designed after a trip to the circus with our five children where i had to lay the babies blanket down on the dirty bathroom floor to change him because there was no counter or any thing to do it on. I wish I would have thought of this with my first instead of my last.! If you are interested contact me and we can work out the dteails of colors and things like that. My life is so dysfunctional lately. I am currently recieiving some government assistance, which I and my husband have to jump through overwhelming hoops to even think about getting help. Today, I was notified by our case worker that we wouldn't be receiving our check for the second month since our last son was born a month early on New Years. Where do I start?. For starters I got laid off of my job in July of last year, and found out that I wasn't even eligible for unemployment. I was 3 1/2 months pregnant with my my third child, and just found out that my one year old was autistic and needed therapy, we already knew that our four year old had adhd. My husband a could never both be employed due to the fact that we couldn't afford childcare for two children. Then in November I was sideswiped by a Charlotte Areal Transit Bus, whic sent me into labor prematurely at 7 1/2 months, up into that time I had been working from home to make ends meet and praticipate in the upcoming holidays. Needless to say I ended up in and out of the hospital and on complete bed rest through the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's holiday, which by God's grace is when my son was born thankfully he didn't have to fight near as hard as other babies born early to survive. We have been without a vehicle since November 2007,and although we applied for a welfare check to help us stay above water until the baby was born, my husband found another job, and I could hopefully return to work myself. We have only received about 600 dollars from welfare since November 2007, Which leaves us at risk to be lose our home and everything we arew trying to have as well as the possible loss of  our children. Charlotte, NC is one of the worst cities to live in they don't even follow their own laws . I have felt like just giving up several times such as the times when I have been forced to walk in the rain with my children just to do what is required of me and my husband to get help. I NEED A JOB DESPERATELY!!!! I need to start wearing a sign saying will work don't want to be a bump got a job etc. I am getting blessing daily,but I don't know how I'll keep them without a job.

I am in need of government assistance for a special needs child.  My husband and I are going broke getting our son to doctors, specialist and such.  Is help for people with situations like ours?  We live in Northern Michigan, and all of these specialists are a four-hour drive away and medicaid will not always cover them.
