If you think that there are no grant programs out there for individuals then you are sadly mistaken.  I have found grant programs for the individual for some time now.  It does involve some work though.  You have to do your research well and weed through a lot of information.

Doctors and other medical professionals (including nurses and dentists) can now apply for grant incentives if they agree to practice in New Orleans to help deal with the medical needs of the people there.  Not only is this good news for medical professionals but it is also good news to the people who are still trying to stay in New Orleans but are having a hard time getting medical care because of their inability to pay and long waiting lists.  You can read more about this program by going to my Grants Blog.

There are also organizations out there that provide emergency financial aid for things such as a high car repair bill, car note/payment and helping those that are disabled.  For example one woman was able to get badly needed dental work that cost $700 which was paid for by the organization.

Many people are unaware of their  Rehabilitation services in their own home town. The ones that do know about it think it’s only for helping handicapped citizens. Wrong. They are in a position to help with free surgery, dental work and much, much more.

If you are employed, but a health problem may prevent you from continuing to work, your local  center can help. Especially convenient for those who need a major operation, but have no insurance,  This center will pay for the doctors’ visits, medication, actual surgery, recuperative equipment and physical therapy, as well as major dental work, too.

Had dental problems for years? Discolored, broken or missing teeth keeping you from a promotion you deserve? Are your dental problems causing you pain? Speak to someone at your local center. They’ll help you find a dentist in your area that can fix your dental problems and get you back to work in no time.

The goal is to help those with handicaps find and keep work. Even if your handicap is temporary, such as a bum hip, they’ll help you get fixed up and back to work. They also offer vocational counseling, job matching, custom training, assistive technology and independent living help. You must be able to prove that you cannot afford the surgery yourself, and that your income is too low to pay for the treatments.

You don’t have to already be unemployed to receive assistance like surgery or dental work. You just need to have been told by a doctor that you require the particular surgery or dental work. Although they cannot just fill and cap teeth for individuals who need this type of work, they can help you get major dental work done if it is preventing you from going to work because of pain. They can also assist you with dental work if it’s keeping you from being able to work in a field in which you’re qualified, but overlooked, because of your dental appearance

You may be eligible for temporary assistance which is available for needy families from a federal program that will provide a monthly cash grant and medical care to families with children who have experienced a sudden drop in income due to the loss of a spouse or job. The amount of the monthly grant depends on the number of people in your family and any income or savings you have. Contact your local social agency.

There is so much mis-information about grants!  Yes there are grants out there BUT there is no one place that you can apply for them.  Each organization whether it be the government, foundations or even big businesses and corporations each have their own individual criteria as far as to what you will need to apply.  Some financial funding programs start their application process with a simple letter of intent and yet others require specialized and quite a bit of information in order for your application to be considered.  The rest of the programs fall somewhere in-between.  There have been grant programs where farmers (or even those that weren't farmers but had the ability to) have received monthly checks to grow weed!  In another case a man got so much grant money that he gave some of it back!  He said it was too much.  In another country a witch got a grant (yes, a Witch!) to start her own business selling potions and other related services!  So yes there are grants out there!

I was approached by an aidmate with question about a fraudulent loan offer. This gave me the idea to create an Abuse / Warning page where all aidmates can post their similar experience in order to warn others.

Given the number of aidmates that are talking about financial problems, and the fact that Aidpage is free for everybody, unfortunately, it is unavoidable to have spammers, liars and dishonest people. We are doing as much as we can to keep the system open and at the same moment to identify such parties. The system is performing automatic post-processing for known fraudulent schemes and is deleting the identified accounts. Aidpage is removing some accounts – mostly international Nigerian-like “loan givers”. This is why, once in a while, some of you are receiving email notifications for messages. Then, when you login, there is no message - it was deleted in the meantime by the system. Unfortunately, we are far from 100% successful in this identification process.

So, what should we do? Here are several suggestions I can think of:

1. Use common sense!
   
2. Be careful and communicate through Aidpage only. Nobody needs your email or phone to talk to you. They can do it easily on Aidpage and yet they would not have access to your information (unless you let them).
3. Any legitimate lender or grant giving organization should identify itself publicly. Such institutions cannot be hidden or secret.
4. Whoever claims to represent an organization should be able to post all pertinent information about him/herself and the organization – address, phone, full name, type of business etc – right here on Aidpage. This is a simple advertising for the company and it cannot be a secret. On the other hand, you don’t have to give any information about yourself – their business info is public, your personal info is not!
5. Once you’ve got all the info, go ahead and check them out. Ask aidmates that you can trust for advice. Make sure you know with whom you are dealing.
6. Then, there are individuals willing to help. This is the best thing happening on Aidpage. However, their personal information is as private as yours. They may not want to expose themselves publicly and this is absolutely understandable. Anonymous charity is common.
7. In case someone wants to send you money, they can do it via Paypal. You just need your own Paypal account – it is easy and free. This way, you don’t have to give out any sensitive personal information – like home address, phone, bank accounts, social security number, birth date, etc. You may consider creating a special email for Paypal only.

I do believe good people vastly outnumber the bad guys, anyway.

We are a family of five.  Over the past year, we have been plagued with numerous medical bills.   Two of our children have had to have surgery and now my husband has injured his back and has not been able to work full-time and therefore cannot get his disability income.  And in order to get SSI, you have to be disabled for at least six months, so we are in a real bind just trying to meet our everyday needs let alone pay all the medical bills we face.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Even if there is a good samaritan out there that is willing to make us a good loan just to get us back on our feet and give us some peace of mind would help tremendously.  Please help....may God bless.

Scholarships are FREE

Most people going to college get one scholarship and then apply for a student loan to cover the rest of their educational expensis.   This is OK, but student loans have to be paid back.  They cannot be forgiven even with Bankruptcy.  The only way out of a student loan is by dying or becoming so disabled that you can not work.

But there is no need to get a student loan.  You can get as many scholarships as you want to pay for your schooling.  There is no limit on how many you can have.  And you can get grants to pay for all the rest.  All it takes is a little effort on your part to hunt down and apply for these scholarships and grants.

         Hey everyone, well so far I have recieved some help with great resources, links to some foundations that help people pay for some past due medical bills, and also was directed to a great networking/support resource for cystic fibrosis.

         I just wanted to encourage you to keep trying. Whatever it is that you are going through, nothing has gone unseen by the Lord, and He will always make a way for you, even if it seems there is no way.

Money helps fix many situations I know (we need it too) but just remember that this world is temporary, and so is the situation you are in...even if it feels like it's been going on for years, and you haven't had a brake. MY SON GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL IN 2005.  HE RECENTLY MARRIED AND IS SEEKING EMPLOYMENT.  HE ORIGINALLY WANTED TO ATTEND AN AUTOMOTIVE TRAINGING SCHOOL (ATI OR LINCOLN TECH),.  HE HAS RECEIVED ONE SCHOLARSHIP IN THE AMOUNT OF 1000.00.  HE DID RECEIVED 4000.00 FOR A PELL GRANT.  THE SCHOOL IS OVER 20,000.00 AND WE CAN NOT AFFORD THE DIFFERENCE WE HAVE TO COME UP WITH FOR HIM TO CONTINUE HIS EDUCATION.  I HAVE TERRIBLE CREDIT AND CAN NOT GET THE STUDENT LOAN FOR HIM.  HE AND HIS WIFE STRUGGLE NOW WITH JUST NORMAL LIVING EXPENSES.  IT SEEMS SO UNFAIR HE HAS WORKED SO HARD TO GRADUATE FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND IS VERY DISCOURAGED AT THIS POINT.  HE HAS HAD A HARD TIME FINDING A JOB AND I DONT WANT HIM TO LOSE HOPE.  PLEASE TELL ME WHERE TO TURN TO FOR HELP.

I am a Christain mother of two children and I have a dodge caravan, which needs trasmission work and brakes. It will cost around $2000 total for everything. I work full time and get paid once a month and right now there is no money left over after paying bills to pay for this repair. If I can't get it repaired soon, I wont be able to get to work or get my kids to school. I have very little family and they are not able to help. My husband and I have four children, the basic situation is that our owner has gone into foreclosure, and we have received a writ so we have to be out by tuesday.  We literally have no place to go, because everybody requires first month rent, and deposit. I am on workmans comp because I was injured on the job, my husband was working overtime, but they cut everyones hours, we have no family here, and none that can help us , who arent here. I got started doing grantwriting work when I was looking for resources to help my mother and other family members. I was quite surprised at the number of programs that were available - some of them requiring no more than filling out a few forms. As I started to work from home other people starting asking me about how they could work from home and that began my consulting business. There were lots of "stories" about grants so I decided to find out for myself what the truth was and the truth was (and still is) that there are grant programs out there for just about any endeavor whether it be for-profit or non-profit! I have gotten many individual grants for others so I know that the programs are out there. So then one day someone called me a scam and that let me know right there that I had chosen the right career! People want the information but they don't want to take the time and effort to find it and that is just what they are going to have to do if they want to apply for these grant programs. I really couldn't be objective on the courses because I took my own route as far as the grantwriting is concerned. Nothing is more better than actual experience and actual results. Every individual has a different story/circumstance and truly you will have to decide for yourself.

I really dont know what to say or what to type. Well here I go, I'm a father of two beautiful children & married to a beautiful and very loving wife; yes I am blessed "THANK YOU LORD" for my Family. I have tried for 3 months to make money. Which brings me here, we have fallen 3 months behind on my bills ($3,600) & 1 month on the rent ($1,000) totalling $4,600 dollars. I dont have a sad story "Thank you Lord", but yes we are in need of help. Yes I typed it WE NEED HELP, any Help. Weather its with $1 or any amount, the buttom line or what I'm trying to say is that my family & I are in a bad situation and heading to a worse situtaion.
