low income family in need of housing

i am a single mother trying to get through college.  I don't make enough money to pay rent. Buying a home would give me a much cheaper monthly housing payment.

NEED HELP TO AVOID EVICTION

My son is in Christian rehab facility located 362 miles from where we live, he tried to commit suicide, they say he has a mental disorder, i have to rent a car every saturday to go and have family therapy, and come home. my van broke down, needs motor, so i borrow my brothers through the week for work, i have to pay $600 by friday or move out, i also have a little girl who's birthday is also on friday, she will be 9, we used to get food stamps and tenncare but when i got hired on full time we lost it all, i have ins. but it only pays 70% and it costs $550 per day to keep my son in this program for 90 days, my husband is a full time college student and he works part time, he has bipolar, borderline personality disorder also, which is probably why my son is sick. we are good people, we go to church regular and we don't want a handout, just a loan to get through this devestating time we are having, if anyone can help us please email me at shirleyjoe@bellsouth.net thanks

I am a very sincere and caring person. I want to help our senior citizens feel like they are wanted in our country and are loved at the same time. This is why I am searching for grants to care for the elderly, in their own home. I know approximately 95% of the elderly are sent to nursing homes and the other 5% are living with family. I know that when I'm a senior citizen I will want to live in my home as long as possible. This is where I come in. They need help for daily tasks. I want to give them this help. My parents and in-laws are in their 60's and 70's. My father and my father-in-law are both very ill and their wives are taking care of them as much as they know how and as much as they can. They both have very limited incomes (SSI, VA, and Social Security), as you all know this money is not very much to live on. There are hundreds of thousands of eldery that do not have the money or the resources to get them through life. Why must they struggle? Were they not helping to run this country in their younger years? Did they not go to war for our country and save many many lives? The answer to those questions and many others is YES! But what they hear now is no, I'm sorry you make $2.45 more than our policy asks for so we must deny you for assistance. So what happens, they either don't eat as much as they should because they need to buy medication or they cut their medicine in half of what they should be taken. This is America!! This is a country where we help each other and we are to be one of the richest countries in the world...where is the money for our elderly if this is so?

I need help with what I am trying to do. I can not do this on my own but am willing to put as much time and effort into helping the elderly and to make America understand that our government is not doing all they can do to help. I want to help the elderly in simple daily tasks (laundry, grocery, cleaning, organizing, fixing, etc.) and charge them by what their income is (I have to charge something due to having a college student and we all know how much that costs) and find a grant that will supliment what the cost will be after the client already paid. OR, have a grant that will pay for the entire service!

Please inform me at suekey1@aol.com, if you know of any grants that will help with this very serious program.

Thank you!

Funding for People to People Student Ambassador Trip

My neighbor was nominated to join the People to People Jr. Ambassador program.  His name is Kristzen Tracey. At 10 years of age he has shined at alot of things.  He has enjoyed church camp and other youth activites. Being a concerned family friend their mother is a single parent and strives to give him the best. The program that he was nominated for is a wonderful life long fulfilling opportunity for him to enjoy. I am currently trying to help their family raise this money since the mother lives on a fixed income. With that being said I could use help with the funding for his trip. People to People will be sending the Jr. Ambassadors on a 14 day history filled exiting adventure to Australia. I would appreciate any help I could get. Please e-mail me if you would like information on how you can help make his dream come true. amanda17368@aol.com.  At this point we are looking for contributions of atleast $1.00 or more made payable to "The Kristzen Tracey Fund." Please mail to The Kristzen Tracey Fund c/o 322 Walnut Street Wrightsville, PA 17368.  Any and all contributions will be kept confidential and are tax deductible.  Thanks again!

Senior Citizens Need Our Help!

I have been batting my head to help senior citizens and I finally came up with something!

I recently got laid-off from a non-profit organization. I have many years of experience in non-profit's and from the past 15 years it seems as though people are focusing on youth and community. Don't get me wrong, I feel there is a strong need of help for both of them. What I am looking to do is to help the elderly. I have not seen nearly as much attention/funding in this area. It's a shame that we "forget" about the elderly and focus on everything but.

Not just working for non-profits do I notice the elderly being forgotten, but also through my own family and friends. They just get left behind and it's time that we stand up for them, they are intelligent, sincere, and even helpful. It's time to do something about this disgrace in America.

I would like to know where I can receive grant money to start helping the elderly. I would like start an organization and/or business in helping them clean, wash clothing, grocery shop, organize, help them understand their medical, etc. I would like to do this on an income basis. Charge them a percentage (low) of their income and have the grant pay for the rest. It's the least we can do to help them...all of them!

If anyone has information on how to get this started, please contact me at suekey1@aol.com.

my lights got cut off

Hello!  I am trying to get help from anyone that maybe able to help me.  A few days ago they came out and turned my lights off so my husband and my children and I have been staying without any lights.  You don't realize just how much you need things or miss them for that matter until they are gone.  About 8 months ago my landlord was put into a nursing home and from that point on we have been struggling and we just haven't been able to get back on our feet.  We had to relocate to a home in the middle of nowhere so we lost our jobs and now that my husband got a job offer our lights got turned off. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! contact me tonya6175@yahoo.com

Need help with finding safe, low-income housing

I am a single mother of five currently living in public housing.  It is no longer safe for my children to go outside here.  We have been  stuck here for 2.5 years now.  I never thought we could make it here this long.  I don't see anyway out.  The highest paying job I have had since living here was 25,000.00 /year.  Seemed like enough that we could rent a small place or a regular apartment, but when income goes up, so does the rent here.  It's like a trap you get stuck in and can't get out.  I have tried section 8- the waiting lists are years long for anywhere in the Austin, TX area.  The Lord has lead me to this website.  I am asking for help and know that He will work through someone so that I may receive it.  God bless you all.

Hello there. We are a family of 3, unfortunately extremely low-income
:(

I'm a single mom, 29, I made some bad choices when I was younger- I dropped out of school when I was just 15, life was really rough for me back then and I was seriously depressed, and then I had my 1st daughter when I was 18, Sierra (she's 10 now) and I changed as a person, literally overnight, she became my world, my life. I worked hard and did my best and then I met a someone I fell in love with, another one of my biggest mistakes but you really can't help falling in love when you're so naive. He ruined everything I had gained, I was thrown off the path I was on in life, and he pushed me down so far that by the time I finally left him 2 and a half years later I didn't think I would be able to get back up... well I did :) and also have a daughter with him, Breanna (she's 8 now) I went back to work, had a great job, I made real good money, I had a car, I was getting my GED, life was good again, and then I managed to get myself electrocuted to the forehead... I lost a complete year of my life due to that, my memory was extensively damaged, and now 6 years later my memory is finally almost 100%, I'm back to 100% but now for the passed 3 years I have not been able to work due to not having any money for a car.    :( I feel like I'm going no where fast, and my depression is starting to kick in again pretty bad... I have no friends here in Troy, MO, though luckily I do have my girls, and my parents here. I'm desperately in search of work, but when you don't have many options in a small town, and no "legal" education to back you up, not to mention no reliable transportation to get you to work, that all makes it so very hard. And on top of it all my youngest daughter is in the process of being diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, and ADHD. Life has dealt me quite a bump once again. I don't want your sympathy- just some support, some friends, and maybe some help.  Thank you for taking the time to read about me and my little family. :)

I am a divorced mother of four, and a home-owner. My partner and I are very low income, less than poverty level, and live in a very poor community in Michigan. A little over a year ago our local housing commision paid for us to have our septic field re-done, as we had a pool of sewage in our yard due to a very out-dated system. In the year since our septic feild was replaced, many new problems have occured, up to and including a river of sewage water running constantly across our yard. No one, including the public health inspector who approved the poorly done job, and the company who did the job (and shortly after went out of business) will help us, let alone take responsibility for our mess. HELP US!!!! My children havent been able to play outside in their yard going on 3 yrs now...we have no way to pay for ANOTHER new septic field-our local housing commision says it is no longer their problem!!! I need info from ANYONE with any advice, direction or leads...please send all info to my personal e-mail   geminidragonfly_74@yahoo.com  Thank you...Tricia

Support Your Local Single Mother, spend more time with her Child! I am a single Mother, I work full-time, and live paycheck to paycheck. I miss my son everyday, and it hurts me so much to leave him at a questionable babysitter everyday because that's all I can afford, he's such a smart boy, and I know he deserves more right now, WHen I see him after work he is stressed out, and he's mad at me, for not being with him. I belive in staying home with your children, and I am in great pain to have to leave him, I am missing out on the best years of his life, working my but off behind a desk, underpaid, I went to school for what I'm doing now, yet I don't have anything. I want to go back to school. I want a higher education, than a A.S. Degree. I want to be able to be with my son more, and only have to put him in daycare for 15-20 hours a week instead of 50 I belive this is so so important, he needs to be with his mother, his family, To grow up with lots of love, guidance and someone who cares that he knows his ABC's, and his manners, etc. I want to go to school to get a better higher paying job, to do better for us amy_will_design@yahoo.com

I am in need of econmic donations for bills (my lights will be shut off monday 3-24-08 and my rent is almost 3 months lates. I am in a really bad relationship and want to become self-sufficent. Also would love to know about grants to help finish my schooling.

Thanks to all who read this and understand what I'm going through. Just a prayer can be enough to get through the day. Thanks

Hi. We're a low income family with just enough income to disqualify us from receiving help from most government agencies. Our main source of income is taking a drop soon, but our bills seem to be increasing. If anyone knows of programs to help families like ours please let me know.

Thanks.
