FINACIAL HELP

I am looking for alittle help to buy my mothers medications and her personal needs.  She has ss but it goes to her mortgage and her insurances. She is 74 and has copd, diabetic, congestive heart failure and lung cancer. I have been taking care of her for 4 years now and have strugled to keep food on the table. I had to quit my job so I could take care of her. This is 24/7 .  The house we live in is in need of alot of repairs inside and out.  I have nowhere else to turn.  My mother is on many medications and some I have been able to get help with. But its just not enough. I really need help. Thanks for any help I get.

bipolar struggling single mother without meds

i am bipolar and have not been able to afford my meds since november.  I thought i was doing okay, but bad things keep happening.  My son is in rehab for addiction, my mother has had two heart attacks, and my daughter had a spine surgeyr for scoliosis and got staph in it and they had to do a second surgery and she had a picc line in for 3 months.  Im divorced from an abuser of 23 years.  Im do medical typing and only get paid when im typing.  When i had to take care of my daughter and help my mom, i lost so much and had to take the equity out of my house.  I do not have any health insurance as I am considered an independent contractor so I have to pay for self insurance and it doesnt cover any of my bioplar medications.  Just my paxil was 228.00 for 30 pills, and I cannot afford to buy it anymore. Im so depressed that Im sleeping and giving up.  IM losing my home and its for sale right now.  I cant afford to go back to the psychiatrist because the bipolar meds they prescribe for me are brand name and my insurance will not cover.  i cannot afford a better plan.  theres so much more, i am just so desparate to get back on my depression medications without being manic so i can care for my family and just keep dinner on the table.  Im 45 and its becoming too much.  Im in menopause and cannot afford the hormone treatment which is also contributing to my depression.  I have lost about 30 pounds from anorexia from the depression.  Its 5 pm here now and i havent eaten all day.  i really just wish someone could help me.  The drug plans that offer free drugs, they take up to 90 days, and they only give small supplies, and i dont even qualify.  My income is considered to be at the federal poverty level, but yet when i turn for assistance, they say i make too much.  what can i do?  im so tired.

Mental Health

I am a 40 year old mother of twins, with a traumatic brain injury disabled husband who works part-time and has mental health issues. I have lost my Medicaid through the state of Missouri and need help with monthly mortgage, and medications for my husband and myself.

Hi everyone,

I left my full time job 4 years ago to take care of my mom who has Alzheimer's. I am her sole caregiver. We have been living on her social security and pension just fine but the amount my mom gets just takes care of the bills in the house plus allows me to buy enough gas to take her to the senior citizens building twice a week to get in some walking for exercise and occasionally mom gets her favorite meal from MacDonald's, a double hamburger, fries and a coke. The only thing I spend money on is cable (no premium channels) as this is the only recreation I have. I'm in the house with mom. There are no friends coming around because I moved away from my home to take care of her. I haven't had my hair done since I moved in with my mom (she hasn't either). Just painting a picture that extra money is not being spent on frivolous items.

I'm very good with mom's money and have always managed to save enough out of her pension and social security to pay taxes on the house. However, this year I was not able to save the money because my mom went into the hospital last year for a couple of months and when she came out she had 9 new prescriptions that she needed to take. She was only on three medications before. We were paying $58 a month on her medicine before she went into the hospital and now we are spending $310 a month. This has eaten into the money I would have saved for taxes. She owes $2500 in property tax for fiscal year 2007.

For fiscal year 2008 mom is eligible for a 50 percent reduction in her property tax because of a program the city has started to help seniors stay in their homes. So I will be able to save the money to pay next year's tax. I will get rid of cable and take mom to the senior citizens place once a week. I went to PharmAssist to see if she could get help with her medicines but they would not help her because she already gets help for out of pocket expenses through her health insurance. I have to admit she does have good health insurance and I'm not going to lie here and say her out of pocket for when she was in the hospital was outrageous. We paid her medical deductible for the year and with that and the new precriptions we just ended up short this year for the $2500 property tax.

I have been trying to raise the money for the tax. I have one sister and one brother and they have been trying to save money but in the end they could not help me. I don't work so I can't take out a loan and I have been trying to get a loan on my mother's behalf. One mortgage lender responded (I went through Lending Tree) and would only loan mom a minimum of $15,000 and my mom had to do a second mortgage with points, a higher interest rate than she has on her first mortgage and that kind of loan along with the first mortgage would wipe us out, so I was not crazy enough to do that.

If anyone has a creative idea or solution or can just plain help, please let me know. The city has sent my mother's case to an attorney for foreclosure to sell my mom's home for this $2500. My mom's house down the drain for $2500. And where do I go with a mother with Alzheimer's? I don't want to put her in a nursing home at this time because she is still aware of herself and others (she is always asking for my sister and brother who NEVER come to see her, and her grandchildren). It would kill me. And I have no idea where I would go because I have not worked in over 4 years and my last jobs was 600 miles away from where I moved with my mom. I know nothing about this city because all of my time has been spent with my mom, so I do not have any friends here and I don't know where to go for help.

Thanks for listening.

Please help

I'm not the kind of person who asks for much, and especially not money.  I'm usually the one fundraising to help out others.  But now I find myself in a real dilemma.  If you know anything about the state of Michigan, we've been in a one state recession for over a year now.  In April of 2006 I lost my job.  My husband has not worked since 2004 and is legally disabled.  While he gets disability, it's not much.  His medications alone cost almost $200.00 a month.  And last September he was hospitalized for 11 days.  We have over $20,000 in debts I am trying to pay.  I finally found a part time job, but it doesn't even cover my housing & utilities. More often than not, we have to scrounge bottles & cans in order to be able to buy food.  I live in a single wide, 30-year old mobile home.  I was fortunate enough to get the county where I live to provide new doors for me last year but now there's a huge split in my kitchen floor.  Of course there's no insurance on the home or my truck.  I pray every time I drive back & forth to work that nothing happens.  If anyone can find it in their heart to make a contribution, I would be forever grateful.  And just as soon as I am back on my feet, I will pay it forward and monitor this site to see who I can help.  I do have a paypal account and you can email me at quiltbugg8972@yahoo.com. Thank you for listening and for your kindness.  God Bless!

Need help to pay for medicine. I have been married 38 years and my husband is disabled and social security will not give him benefits. I have had 2 heart attacks and we are both diabetic. I have a stressful job that I work about 45-60 hours a week. I do not make enough to meet basic needs (rent, car payment, food, medications). I only need about $800.00 to make ends meet for a few months until SSI benefits kick in. If you can help thank you very much.
I have Hep C and have no money for medication

I need help to get to see a doctor for blood test and medication for this disease, please put me in contact w/ someone who can help me.

Hi, I am a 55 year old female on very limited disibility. I suffer heart problems, diabetes, and spine problems. I am losing my teeth because of my diabetes. I went to Sterling Dental to have x-rays done, and was told that all of my top teeth would have to be pulled, and all but six of my bottom teeth. I already have a partial at the top, but have broken teeth in it as well. I really look bad with all of these missing teeth. I really need some dental help and advice of who can help me get my mouth fixed. I can not afford $3,500.00 because of my income of $450.00 per month. Could someone please give me advice of the avenues that I should take.

Thank you
