New business started 7/05, I need help and advice as a women minority to help get my feet off the ground. I need equipment, shop with land, I'm home based for now and growing. I'm a grandmother of 5, was in nursing for 25 plus years and I changed my career for the better and my life. Moved from Missouri to Oregon, whole new life for me. I am an unemployed 26 year old mother of a 7 year old child. I would like to go back to school because now an associates degree is not enought to live off of in the state of NY. Unfortunately due to my previous employer the company downsized and I was laid off. since then I have tried to search for employment on my own but the cost became to expensive. Now I had to apply for welfare and the employment search assistance program allows me to sit from 9-5 with nothing to do. They will not allow me to go to school in the am hours becuase its unfair to them that they have to work and go to school. I would go to school at night but now my situation turns in to a babysitting issue. I also feel a single mother she be able to be there for her child in the pm hours to help her child better her self in school. Now I am left emptyless and no where to turn .. I have no family I was a orphan of the state sice the age 7 to the age 19. and then released because I was considered an adult and not a child. I am struggling to pay rent by staying with my abusive exboyfriend and living as a prisioner in my home. All I want is my life back. A chance to better my self and become self sufficient so that I will not be classified as another statistic

Scholarships are FREE

Most people going to college get one scholarship and then apply for a student loan to cover the rest of their educational expensis.   This is OK, but student loans have to be paid back.  They cannot be forgiven even with Bankruptcy.  The only way out of a student loan is by dying or becoming so disabled that you can not work.

But there is no need to get a student loan.  You can get as many scholarships as you want to pay for your schooling.  There is no limit on how many you can have.  And you can get grants to pay for all the rest.  All it takes is a little effort on your part to hunt down and apply for these scholarships and grants.

I'm a female senior in college in great need of financial assistance.  I'm majoring in electrical engineering and currently this is sixth week of classes, and I do not a single textbook for any of my classes.  Unfortunately, my financial aid did not cover the entire cost of attendance this semester, leaving me with a balance of $8000 dollars on my account.

I need scholarships.  The school of my dreams is gonna run me at least $30,000 this year.  Though, on paper, he makes a good amount of money, he genuinely can't afford it.

I am: Veteran, a senior citizen, minority, female, part Indian, displaced and disabled.  Believe it or not people, I am all of the above.

I have been on Soc. Sec. Disability for the past 5 years.  I have lost everything that I owned, except for some personal household things.  I used to own my own home.  But with being sick for years and it effecting my income, I no longer own any property and lost my nice car.

I presently live in the Los Angeles area, where the medium value of a home is $500,000.  It is impossible for people like myself to ever think of owning a home, -or- to rent a nice apartment for that matter.  My income is WELL under $1000 a month.

I would love nothing more than to own my own home again.  I am on the waiting list for the Sec. 8 program here in L.A., but the program is frozen.  And many of the properties offered under this program for renting or buying are in bad condition and in the worst parts of town.  What I would like is assistance in rental or mortgage payments, as well as money for down payment, if that is called for in a purchase.

If you are not able to help me, maybe you can point me in the right direction.  Any help you can offer would be much appreciated!
