If you need rental assistance this is the place to start. Subsidized housing is based on your income and often times it is much quicker to get into a subsidized apartment than to wait for a Section 8 Subsidy approval

Section 8 housing usually has a long list because the subsidy is attached to the person, not the property. This means that regardless of where the person lives, they still get the subsidy. In NY the waiting list is 8-10 years.

****If at anytime, you are denied accessibility to applying for any program, you should contact your local city, county, or state leaders and have them intervene on your behalf. - THIS APPLIES TO ANYONE WHO IS DENIED ASSISTANCE.

HOWEVER, there is another alternative. Subsidized housing where the subsidy stays with the property rather than with the renter. You would still pay the same amount of rent - it is based on your income - but you would have to move into a government subsidized property.

In most cases, these are handicapped accessible, family oriented, all the maintenance is included - among other things.

I am including the link for HUD below - just click on the proper state and take it from there. You will need a minimal security deposit - which you may be able to get from social services or another charitable organization.

Regardless of how long the list is you should still be able to be put on the list.

July Update 2010,

Happy 4th of July to all. I hope you celebrated with history and respect for our Founding Fathers and the US Constitution.

We are having a heat wave on the east coast. I am loving it. After a very cold winter, my bones are soaking in the heat.

This week will be very busy for me. First off, my sister is getting her roof done. Yea!  Then I have to take my truck to get brakes and find out where my air leak is coming from. Next on the adgenda for saturday is the Steel Horse Biker Fest in the mts. I will be there to sell my leather cleaning formula. It should be fun to see all my biker buddies again. I will also try to take in some fishing at the old water hole. Later this month, I have some friends that will help me start building the tool shed for some storage.

There you have my July update. Keeping myself busy and out of trouble.

PAYING MYSELF FIRST:

Ok, I got a bug up my you know what. I am seriously studying about my retirement. Since congress is selling social security down the toilet, I have deceided to learn about investing and saving money. I ordered Ben Stein's "How to BulletProof you Investments". And today I started to get my office organized. I have a pile of papers that need to be gone through and shreaded.

Now, I am going to start paying my self $25-50 dollars a month from my disability check. I made a range because I have to really budget my check. I opened a savings account only with NO ATM card. That means if I have to do any transactions I got to get my butt down to the bank and make it myself. Also, I have a little notebook that I am writing down everything I spend and what I spend it on. After a month I will review it and see if I can cut down on the spending and put that money into my savings account.

Since, my food stamps got cut in half, thanks to you know who...Obamocare! I got a letter three days after the bill passed saying I was cut in half. They must have been waiting for the passage. I am paying for somebody else's food program. Not that I don't mind but why are they taking it out of my alotment??? Because they figure if they cut everyone's in half they can give that half to somebody else. The government is broke!

Well, that was my wake up call! A big "HELLO" TO ME!

You have to take care of yourself! That is the bottom line.

So i am pulling my boot straps up and getting this butt in gear!

Today Mother Earth treated us to our first big Thunderstorm. It was great!

Update Feb 11, 2020.I am back online-YEA!

Hi Ya all,

Whew! I was away too long. Lots have happened in my life that I would like to share with all of you that are having despair and troubles, health, money wise etc. First off, I got the notice from my "Angels"(those of you know what I am talking about here regarding "our Angels")  to check back to see if "AidPage" was still in existence! I am so happy to see that it has a new format. 

After updating all my profiles and pages I am here to say....Keep Breathing. Keep your Spirit Alive.

NEVER, EVER GIVE UP! Just keep pluging away at what the goal is. Always make sure you are on track and remember, your friends and family will think that you are crazy, they will try to sabbatoge your efforts, they will try to break your Spirit.  YOU WILL Prevail!

What is that saying:  "Do what you like and the money will follow!" That my friend is the Secret to your Success! LOVE IT and most importantly,have a BLAST doing it! Be happy in your Heart! It will change your life. I firmly believe this and I am living proof that it does work.

UPDATE:

As you know, my Aunt passed last year. Then my brother. We can finally breath with the estate matters.

Living all my life in my beloved San Diego, California. I feel like I am in the "Twight Light Zone" back here in the Allegheny National Rain Forest...now major SNOW Forest. I feel like Bill Murphy in "Ground Hogs Day". By the by, Phil said 6 more weeks of winter.  And we are currently digging out of 2 feet of snow.

Ok, I have been studying the "Prosperity book" by Avanizi. Well, it dawn on me that as an "Old Fashion" Bikermamma I can STILLdo something with my life while I am here struggling to make ends meet.  It came out of the blue...or should I say from my "Angels", I can clean motorcycle leather jackets, chaps, saddle-bags, etc. So I started doing my business homework. Got on the net and researched how to make PH-Chem free formulas. The best way to clean leather and a bunch of other stuff. How to repair the zippers, cuffs on Bomber-jackets. I will be picking up a free(best way to get stuff) sewing machine with stand.  I also know that you can use these formulas for cleaning "Tack & Saddle". So for all you Horse lovers out there I would like you to try my stuff. I found a great website to build you own biz cards, which I did. They look great.  

I then learned about blogging. I set up my own blogging site with the G. I am still learning all this internet stuff. Every once in awhile I have my nephew come over and help me out. So please check out my blog.

JUne 15, 2008 HAPPY DAD'S DAY TO ALL YOU DADS. Enjoy your day. All this week, I have been working on "releasing" all my old father's stuff and with blessings I offer them back to the universe. So I am in "Forgiveness" of my father today. That, my friends, is a big thing for me to do this at this time in my adult life. I am thank full for that. I guess you can heal yourself in your own way. update: Greetings All, I thought I would take today to update you on my blessings. As you know, I had to come back for my aunt's health. she is doing better but she is close to getting her ticket punched to get on the bus to heaven. In the meantime,I am on a holding pattern. I found a very nice running Jeep Grand Wagoneer at the right price. The guy is very nice and is working with me on the payments. I am also making plans to build by Gypsy Vardo Wagon. God is sending me little things for the trailer. The other day the neighbor brought me to the church rummage sale and I found a need coffee grinder, a bolt of cloth, an old time coffee percolator. Wow! It's been awhile since I have been here. The site looks great! I like the new format. I will have to get re-acquainted with it.

So I have not been here for about a year. Time flys when there is lot's going on in one's life. Still dealing with my health. Last couple of month's it has been my teeth.

Dentures are a-comin soon. And today I just found another part of the tooth that was pulled comming up through the gum. I have ask God to heal me. And I say my "Thank You God for my healing". every day. So hey, it may be getting my third set of teeth. Now, that would be a hoot!

So, I made it back to San Deigo, CA. I love that place. I started to help my friends out there with house sitting. So I am now know as "The Gyspy House Attendant". It is the perfect job for me with all my disabilities.

Another thing I have been researching is the type of vehicle that would sote my needs, both everyday and the disabilities. I am now looking for the old JEEP GRAND WAGONEERS! It is low to the ground so I can get in and out of it and I can put the back seat down when I need to rest. Plus I can haul my little "Gypsy Vardo Wagon" behind it. So that is my next vehicle. Keep a look out and let me know if there is one in your neck of the woods.

Speaking of woods, I am back in Pennsylvania. My 88yr old Aunt called me to come back and help her out. She is having some major health issues herself. So I am back in the mountains of the Appalachians. It is nice now because of the Spring. However, those damp cool nights are killing my back and joints.

So I am back and will promise to check in at least once a week.

UPDATE MAY 2007

Ok, well that little toyota truck I got has some major problems. So I cleaned it up and have it up for sale for $835. No sooner did I put the ad in the paper an old mechanic friend found a working truck that I can get in June. See how GOD works Miracles. You have to let go of all your negitive energies.

In the meantime, I am doing little house projects for my 87yr old aunt. I did the trim in the bathroom and I want to paint my room. I put some tomato plants in the garden. So once I leave to go back west, everything will be done for her.

I guess I am on a spring cleaning kick. Not only for my life but my spiritual life as well.
It feels pretty good to let go of all your own shit.

My new saying is: "Life is Good!".

Update: April 11, 2007.
Ok I am over the tools being stolen.  Now working on getting the truck fixed. Getting the AD space sold on the truck and I am out of PA for good. They do every thing backwards here and I am finding out about "legalized extortion" when it comes to trying to registrar the title of a truck. What a racket.  I know enough bitching but I got to tell you whenever you are trying to move forward and you have everyone blocking you, instead of giving you a hand up...get's depressing. And more snow.....ugly. So AD Space anyone?

well so much for thinking positive! I just got robbed of all my tools to fix up the truck.
so now I have a truck with no tools.  At least I did not get my house ransacked like my neighbor did. They got the worst of it.  So there goes 8k out the window.
I just need the Universe and God to give me a leg up everyonce in awhile instead of chopping me off at the knees.

  My name is Amy and I'm desperate. I'll just have to be frank. I'm at my wits end!!  I can't pay my bills,  I don't own any assets to cover a loan.  In fact,  my mom in law is letting us use her truck so that I can get to work-now someone has vandelized it.  They punctured my tire.

I work for Baylor Hospital in Irving as a nurse aid. I make 9.87 per hour.  I had to go part time because they couldn't use me for 16 hour shifts on the weekend so that I could attend school.(I hope to be a nurse-God willing)  Well, I droped my classes because my husband requires much of my attention, which brings me to him.  He is disabled, BUT Uncle Sam doesnt agree even though we have letters from Physicians staing that he can not work.  His meds are about $400.00 per month, and that's not including his doctor's appointments(when we're able to go)  I'm suffering from sever panic attacks and depression and Ihaving a really difficult time finding a second job.. My rent is due in one week 585.00, an electric bill (2 monthes worth, $468.00), Erik's doctors appt is on the 26th of Sept. One of the medicines prescribed is not covered by my insurance plan-that's $40.00 FOR DOC and $150.00 for 2 prescriptions.  Well, I do know that God will always take care of my needs!! Thank you!

Can anyone  help with rent / we did find a place after our house was forclosed on. My fiance is getting job they just keep telling him it will start soon. I just don't know what to do for the kids on Christmas. My young ones will be happy with candy my 14yr old is saying all her friends get stuff and she hates life cause we are poor right now. I need assistance paying bills off like utilities and old apartment so that I can get my own place of living again. I am married and my husband has 3 payday loans that we have to keep paying off and imediately taking back out because we cant afford anything any other way. We can't afford daycare and have noone around to help us so I am unemployed. That is also because I didnt realize it while i was doing it but I do not have a strong work history. I want to go to cosmatology school so I can get a decent job and hope to advance to open my own business. I just know I can't even afford to keep food in the cabinets or milk in the refrigerator for our 2 yr old daughter and it hurts me very much to know that.

First of all, I'm Ricardo from Austin, Texas. I have lived all of my life in this state. I'm orginally from Abilene, Texas but I've been living in Austin for more than 20 years. I enjoy life to the fullest and I try to do a lot of things. I'm never afaird of doing anything. One of the biggest things I enjoy doing is traveling. My recent adventure was going to the state of Colorado. Beautiful state. I would love to go back and keep exploring its beauty, and it's site it has to see.

The reason for my blog in Aidpage, is to help other with the knowledge that I have devopled from my life experiences.  I've gone up and down the latter and I've have had great credit and bad credit. I've have learned to deal with people, build a small at home business and coach people in being successful in their personal lives and business lives and learned to do a lot of research do make sure I make the right decision. 

I want to share that exeperience with others. Give them a different way to look at a problem to find a solution. Give people ideas, a direction and teach those who want to learn. This will help me in the long run because I'm offerring something of value and that is life experience. What it will also do for me is the more I can share, help. I will be rewarded three time more  with a better life. I myself, by sharing what I've learned. This will help me become a better person, develope more experience and help those who needed. 

In return life will give me all that I want by doing this.  

I'm looking for financial peace of mind or to grow more money and find different ways to get more money in my pocket. I'm looking of me to help other and have them achieve their goals. I looking to help all I can. But I guess I'm looking to get started first on what I need before I can help other. Or maybe it will work out where I do what I need to do at the same time help out.

Well, there are a lot of things that I want to do but first is first. I wouldn’t mind starting a foundation or grant or something that I can walk people through what I've learned. Help them and then go onto the next person. Lot's of time you know your problem but sometime you need that helping hand. Sometimes you need someone to point it out to you. I’ve learned that the hard way.

I guess I'm to give help, so help can come back to me. I willing to quite my job visit each relative and get him or her going and once I feel comfortable with where they are. I go to the next relative and so forth and so on.

But in order to do so, I want to make sure that I'm stable first. I keep reading the Aidpage and there is something in common that I’m finding. We all need some type of help but each of us have a different piece of the puzzle. By putting this community together, we should be able to fit those pieces together and get things going for all of us. In this country and in the lifetime, we have enough for each other to get and give. We just need to learn how to get it and where.

Hello my name is Gayle,I am a 30 year old house wife I take care of my mom due to a stoke back in 2000 and in may of this year she was diagnosed with diabetes when she almost fell in to a diabetic coma :( .I cant work because I have IBS which in turn caused me to become agoraphobic which is a fear of leaving my house I have had this problem since I was 16 I even had to have my wedding in my front yard :( but that is besides the point I really don't like having to do this but I am in need of help very badly and I have tried just about everything else from trying to get a loan (Which is impossible now a days) to selling most of our stuff,so now I am swallowing my pride and posting this :(

I am a 44 year old single mother working full-time. I left my job of 14 years 8 months ago. In 2001 I went back to school and earned my Associate's degree in Computerized Information Processing. I now have a job as a wolesale lockbox processor. I was a sales associate in layaway for Walmart until they closed it down. I like my job. I work Friday-- Monday and off three days a week. Two of my children have left home. One of them is married with a son and recently bought a home in Florida. She has a Bachelor's degree in Communications. She has her Barbers liscence and works as a cosmotologist. My middle child lives out of the house and has 2 children of her own and is a cosmotologist. My younges is fifteen and lives with me.

When I decided to purchase my home, my main concern was keeping my children out of public housing. I had no clue it would be this hard to maintain it. I am now considering selling my home and finding somewhere to rent because I can not afford to maintain my home. My house is not a home to me, it's just a house because I can't afford to maintain it. I still have problems with my home inside and out. What help is out there for the people in the grey area like me?

Hello my name is Amy and I am a single mom of three boys from Colorado.  I lost my job in April due to witnessing a near drowning of a small child last summer which led to severe PTSD and panic disorder.  I got to the child first and she was blue and foaming at the mouth and I was unable to perform CPR even though I knew it, I just froze.  We are about to be kicked out of our house, and have shut off notices for everything.  I have tried everything I can think of to get a loan but to no avail.  I have raised my boys on my own and have been through two very abusive relationships and am no longer in them.  I had a very good job but could not keep it due to the stress of the job on top of the many panic attacks I had per day.  I just need some help, I am willing to pay you back with interest.  The story is much longer than this but I will end it here for now.  Thank you in advance - Amy - Grand Junction, CO

Hi i'm a 32 yr old single mom. I have three kids I need to take care of and I just recently went back to work.    I want to thank all who help and prayed for us when we needed food. We now get food stamps to help with the food.  But now winter is coming and I have no money for heating oil to keep us warm.  I work part time and getting paid ever two weeks but not getting enough to pay for my bills.  I love to help people when I can.    I am a very friendly person and easy to get a long with.  I have helped many people in my lifetime and plan to help many more people before I leave this earth.  I hate asking for help but when you need to you just can't help but to ask.  Thank you in advanced and God Bless All and may he answere our prayers.  Even If you just say a prayer that would be big help to us.
