I never thought I would be desperate enough to resort to asking strangers for help.  My story is way too long. This is the short of it.  I was born to handicapped parents who have since passed away.  I'm an only child.  I had a rough childhood filled with abuse, rape, etc.  I married a man at a young age.  He later became abusive and also sexually abused our child.  All this to say, my life has made me a stronger person.  I have worked since age 13.  I have since remarried.  We have been through some hard times as each of us were divorced and left with lots of debt.  Our kids are grown and married but each has their own life and live in other states.  

Then my health problems started happening. We have tried to budget and save, only to have other things keep happening.  We would like to be debt free as this is what God wants us to do.  My husband's job is up and down and lately mostly down due to the economy, etc.  My job is as a self-employed person as well.  My health problems have kept me from working as hard as I am used to.

My health costs are huge.  I have to take very expensive medicine for the rest of my life.  The insurance only covers a very small amount per year.  We find ourselves getting deeper into debt with credit cards because I don't want to skip any payments or be late. It seems, like most, we keep getting deeper in debt with no real way out.  We don't want to file bankruptcy.  We have cut back expenses as best as we can.   

We have 2 vehicles we have tried to sell, have advertised, but have not sold.  We have a house that is reasonable.  We would pay the same for a rental.  Housing market is such we would not make anything if we sold it anyway and may lose.  

We have to pay taxes of course.  We have to come up with $4,000 by April 15th.  We cannot be late. My husband's student loans are very high.  Interest keeps adding up.   

We have prayed and prayed and are seeking God's will and provision.  

We want to have a Christian retreat center some day but it's a dream at this point.

We serve God through our jobs, through daily life and often give of our time, talents and money to those in need.  We are now in need and embarrassed to ask for help.  

To be debt free - We have about $29,000 in credit card/loan debt
$230,000 in student loan debt
$25,000 x 2 vehicles in car debt (see why we want to sell them - payments are $465 and $368)
$135,000 in house debt (moved to this area in 2005)
$10,000 outstanding medical debt
$ 800 per month in medication.  

I have filed for help from pharmaceutical companies, but we "make too much".  

SO, we are not in poverty, and we aren't rich.  We are in the middle class finding ourselves in a bad spot.  

If lots of people could even just send one dollar a person, that would add up!  When we are debt free, we will be able to pay back the generosity.  Please reply privately if you can help at all!  I can answer in more detail privately any questions, concerns, etc.  God bless you for reading this and may God provide your needs as well.
