Well, were to begin.  Hi my name is Michelle and I am stuck in a never ending circle of financial ruin. On august 10th of 2002 my youngest daughter who was nine at the time was hit by a 17 year old driver while she was getting the mail with her older sister. She wasn't expected to live but by the grace of God she is still with us. She spent two months in Children's Hospital in a coma and on October 8th of 2002, we brought her home; she was still in a coma -and we were hoping and praying that she would improve. Well the first year was rough, I invested alot of time in caring and helping my daughter make her way back to us.  My days started at 4:30 in the morning and didn't end until 2 am.  Even then I would not sleep very well because I was afraid I wouldn't hear if Caitlin was having trouble with a seizure or some other complication.  While all this was going on My husband was very distant and seemed to be on a different path, and I thought that was his way of grieving. Little did I know what was actually going on. Little by little my precious daughter was making progress back to us. My disabled daughter will always need special care and guidance as she has a tramatic brain injury and a seizure disorder. She is at a permanent nine year old level even though now she is 15 with even lower academic levels. While I was taking her to out patient therapy, my husband was distant and wasn't around much, I thought that he was just grieving differently than I was and that eventually he would come around. After seeing my husband off to work with a kiss On August 27th 2003 I received an email from "the other woman" -- the first half of the email was definately intended for my husband and the second half was letting me know what was going on for the past year. She had sent it to him and a copy to me. Needless to say I was in disbelief and after trying to get ahold of my husband and not hearing anything from him for over two weeks I was devastated. He had closed all the checking accounts and left us penniless. He took me thru a three year bitter divorce and because of my denial I didn't get an attorney until late in the divorce. Well to make a long story short, I didn't do very well in the divorce. He had a very good attorney and I was praying for a reconciliation. I ended up paying him $65000, and the attorney I had hired $23000 which forced me to refinance the house and what I didn't realize at the time was that my payments were going to be an amount that was way over my head. Now I am in a constant state of panic because there is more going out than what is coming in. My van in 2005 had a major repair when the transmission went out and that has set me on a never ending circle of being behind on all my bills. A number of bad decisions has further made my life difficult.  I am way behind on my mortgage which is $1800 a month. Which I am working with a ligation service who said that they had 95% success rate in getting the loan modified.  I guess I fall into the 5 % because they couldn't.  Now I have to get a total of $9000 together of which I only have 5500.  And then make a payment of 2300 right away and then for the next three months.  Then and only then will they modifiy my loan.  I have tried to get a loan.  But because of my situation.  NO bank will touch me.  The divorce  has destroyed my credit.  My ex plays games with the child support and maintenance and even with that there still isn't enough coming in.  I feel like my attorney really let me and my daughters down.  Please, Please this is very hard for me (I am embarrassed and ashamed) to even ask this way but I am getting desparate and can't even bear the thought of losing my house and having no where to go with my two precious girls. Any help would be greatly and eternally appreciated.
