Christmas Help and other help homeless

A single grandma raising her granchild is in need of help with Christmas for granddaughter and finding a home. I am employed but don't make enough to pay car payment, insurance, food and gas, much less a Christmas. Currently living in car with child, who does go to school and other school related activities to keep her busy so this situation doesn't get the best of her.

I am a college graduate looking for a good paying job with references, a home to call our own, temporary help so that I can reach out to others to help. I don't quality for assistance because our family size is too small. Please help me to get going.

As a young child I grew up in foster homes and orphanages, and would like to prevent this from happening to my little one. PLEASE HELP!

I will gladly help others in need, and will help locate resources for you to use to help meet your needs. I am unable to make my needs too public or I will lose my job.

I am a single grandma raising a grandchild. I have three grown children, thirteen grandchildren. I have managed to survive a divorce, put myself through college and obtained a job. Although I don't make alot, I help many people in what I do.

I am great at being available to help others, but am poor at helping myself. I am in need of help because although I am employed, I don't make enough to make ends meet. Currently, I am in need of a home and would greatly appreciate any help providing a Christmas to my granddaughter. She is the light of my life.

I have many grandchildren to share my love with, but this one is like my own. She actually is not a biological grandchild, but kind of an inherited one. I've managed to give her a good set of values, and she works to get good grades, is cooperative at home, and is always available to help my other grandchildren. This in itself speaks of the goodness within her.

I truly need help, feel desparate and don't know where to turn. I am not eligible for help because she is not my child although I have legal court ordered custody. I am such a disappointment to her, as I cannot provide for her. My wages go to feed her, pay for my vehicle and insurance and that is all. I need the car for work, as well as for us to sleep in. I am ashamed of how poorly I have done in life.

I am very capable of more, but just can't seem to get the breaks that many others do. I don't ask for the system to support me, but rather to find a better way to support myself and move forward in life. My goal is to write a book on my life as a foster child (BAD).

I am a great resource for helping others find help if they are in the low income bracket or have disabilities.

Derricks worries

Im 23 and have gone through a horrible split with a lady and i have a daughter with her. We have finally got done with court and i have been given a little more time than minimum for parenting. I dont understand it and dont think i ever will. I have a collision repair certificate and want to know if there is anykind of career or help i can get to make sure that my daughter and i are taken care of. I am in debt up to my eye lids and cant seem to get a break. is there any help out there for single fathers to better themselves with education. I have made many changes in my life but dont feel i can provide for my daughter as well as i can. If there are any options for me please let me know.  Any grants or scholarships, even loans that can help would be great.

This is me and i'm real; online needing help. My mother and I were living together. I stayed with her after the death of my step father Bob in 2001. I worked and paid all the bills ; food, pet food, litter, cable, pg&e, highspeed  internet, except for the rent she paid with her S.S.I. I got paid every week and was broke we lived from my paycheck to paycheck . After about 7yrs my mother got sick and was put in the hospital when poof! my two sisters come and take control of My mom. MY mother and sisters are Jehovah witnesses. They took control of her and made sure I was to be evicted from our house, because I chose to quit my job at Carrows restaurant and go to college to be an Cisco certified networking associate, one month prior to this. Now i'm broke and in transision to get a job at the college awaiting the financial aid desicion. My mom is o.k. and in rehab for a twisted spin injury. And I'm waiting for my finacial aid letter soon because in November we get checks. I need to pay the landload rent of $560.00 for this month and I'm late on pg&e by $100.00 dollars. If anybody can help me I will pay you when my financial aid comes and or, if I'm working before November. I 'm not trying to lose the house my mom and I  lived in behind her leaving me with the bills & rent unexpectedly....  my email address is

Thank you! and God bless....

Looking for Suggestions/Direction/Help for Student in Difficulties

My daughter's boyfriend, who is 17 and a graduating senior, has had a difficult family life that has come to a head approximately two weeks before they are due to graduate.

His mother is a chronic alcoholic with many other issues as well. His father is not much better, but drinks a little less. They have made this poor kid's life a misery in many ways. For example, he is not allowed to close his bedroom door evrer, at any time. This is a 17 year old who is allowed no privacy, not even to change clothes or sleep. (I've known him for about 4 years so I know it's not a punishment or "good reason" issue) He finally got up the courage to get counseling at school just this year. His parents tried to force him into going to the Coast Guard Academy because they didn't want to have to pay for his college, despite having a Lexus, big house etc.

Now, two weeks before graduation, when it came time to pay deposits for school-a state school, not a private one- they announced they are not paying anything for his college at all because he's irresponsible- despite the fact that this kid holds the family together. Because it's so late and he's still, till July, a minor and was taken as a deduction on his parents tax return for last year, I'm not sure what can be done to help him. His counselor found an apartment he could share with 3 other students at college. He has the summer to make money and apply for additional assistance, but his immediate need is to pay the deposit to keep his place in school and some other fees that are due now

His parents have said he has to move out the day he's 18 so I've told him he can live with us. (And despite all this they're surprised that he doesn't want htem to go to the parents' picture taking party for prom. These people are just nuts. The mother keeps saying it's her right.) Anyway, that will save him having to pay room and board till the Fall. But, my family lives below the poverty level ourselves. I teach early childhood while I'm getting my production company going. I just don't have anything extra to help him now. Feeding and keeping him will be a big strain on our budget as it is.

I was hoping someone might have an idea of where he could go to look for help. I think he has enough time to get help for actual tuition for next year. He plans on working to make his room and board. I was hoping someone knew of some kind of grant or program that could be accessed quickly enough to help him pay his deposit and fees.

Any thoughts or brainstorming would be appreciated. He's a really good kid, very bright. He wants to be an engineer. He has managed to keep his grades up and his SAT's are good despite all the nuttiness he lives with.

Please email me if you have an idea. I can also give you the name of his school counselor if anyone needs to check his story.

Thanks.
